the fucking internet sucks for anything with a brain for a while now: phones, the cloud, the continual vc attempts at extracting money from users, web 3.0, nice fucking tits, grypto, ''ai'', now trying to separate users into renting apps and hardware behind continual paywall

fuck all of it

I just downloaded Linux for the first time to get away from Windows bloatware and I had to input 7 commands in the command line to install ProtonVPN including one to download a separate program that allows system tray icons.... is this really the best we have? Obvious bait is bait, but for the lurkers…

Get a noob distro. Ubuntu, Mint, Bazzite. Nobara is fairly recent but focused on out-of-the-box, point-and-click usability for gaming and content creation, so having to use the command line is at the very least infrequent.

Distros like these let you ease into the way Linux works, but you should absolutely be getting comfortable with the CLI. It feels archaic at first, but with time it becomes the most expedient way to do certain things. Stick with Linux, it’s worth it.

I just downloaded Linux for the first time to get away from Windows bloatware and i ran Guild wars 1 on both systems to compare performance

Guild Wars 1 on Win10 - 25fps
Guild Wars 1 on Mint through Lutris - 80fps
same character, same spot, same graphics settings. i find it impossible for windows to shit up a 20yo game this much, what's going on here?

This is for debian, 2 commands:

 wget https://repo.protonvpn.com/debian/dists/stable/main/binary-all/protonvpn-stable-release_1.0.8_all.deb

sudo dpkg -i ./protonvpn-stable-release_1.0.8_all.deb && sudo apt update

But there is also Flatpak for faggots like OP, just open your AppStore and type proton vpn. 1 click install.
>>
>>107873564
if you are using openSUSE, just type: sudo zypper in protonvpn-gui

You don't need to install the tray icons package. If you are running KDE Plasma, Ubuntu or Cinnamon, everything will work fine. This is just for vanilla GNOME, just get the AppIndicator from the extensions App, not the system install.

New game, 'Teach Your Children To Lie'

You draw cards for patterns to match, each pattern is worth points, each move is one marble shifting one space, can't move into or through a filled divot, as you complete patterns you get the points and draw another. Game ends when all three players pass or all cards are complete. Completing 2 or more patterns in a single move gives bonus points, and there is a blind trade system where on their turn a player can offer one card to trade to the other players for a card of their choice, if all three players accept the trade, there us a round Robin with the direction chosen by the player who initiated the trade

Hi, I'd like to ask you for some advice. I love all the different landscapes found in nature and fantasy, the artificial things that humans build, like infrastructure, architecture and vehicles and all the different ways in which these things can be represented and stylised in art. I also like all the interactions, changes and transformations that these things can undergo, like modifying a vehicle or creating a new model based on an old one or on the demands of it's environment. I can spend hours on wikipedia just opening new tabs of interesting stuff.

I would like to be able to accurately create these things as 3D art in all their interesting variety of details, shapes, colors and textures. I would also like these models to be based to some degree off of input data, kind of like procedurally generating an autistic world-building project. Eventually I would also like to be able to use these models for games or manufacturing/3d printing in case my autism is not satisfied with what's created by others.

Sorry for being so long-winded, I understand that I'm a bit delusional and that what I want may not be possible, but I wanted to ask you, what are my options for achieving this or coming as close as possible? I have no experience so I don't know what programs and techniques exist and what are their advantages and disadvantages. I can learn fast and I'm passionate, but I also don't know how to program yet and the only modeling I've done was some 2D technical drawings in CAD, so I think an already existing engine and 3D software would be good, but I don't know enough to be able to tell if that is true and what I should choose or add. 3D modelling has very complicated technical aspects to it and modifiable, good looking terrain seems to be very hard to properly implement. The first thing that comes to mind is voxels, but they don't allow for a lot of detail and texture and I don't know of many other methodes due to my lack of experience, please tell me what you know.
>>
>>107892231
That's cute, but doesn't sound very appealing to me. Doesn't seem to have much to do with engine devving either.

>>107892544
Sorry, I can't help with that. The way you worded this makes me think of the AI generators for 3D models. Maybe that's the fastest way to get what you want.
>>
>>107892544
What level of detail are we talking? Any existing games with an artstyle you have in mind?
If you want to complete anything substantial then solo modeling detailed stuff, especially realistic, is completely out of scope, that's why everyone is using photogrammetry, assets from a store or have a big team of artists.
>>
>>107892544
the most realistic art in games especially for outdoor environments is made by photogrammetry, literally 3D scanning the real world

Tor, what the actual fuck is going on:
>Almost ALL of the guard nodes are in NATO countries like Ingerland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Finland and the US

>Most of the time you get a circuit with Germany -> Random cunt -> Germany or Netherlands -> Random cunt -> Netherlands
This is it? It's ogre? Can snowflake proxies at least solve the circuit problem? (more than 100k snowflake proxies are active from the browser addon alone)

>almost all guard nodes are in NATO countries
Of course they are. People forget TOR has its roots in the United States Navy. It makes perfect sense that adoption of software descended from the US military would be more prolific in US allies. Also, consider the fact that on a global scale, NATO and nine eyes countries are generally much more developed and actually have the infrastructure to support TOR nodes. This isn't some western hijacking of TOR, it was destined to be this way from the very beginning if you think about what TOR fundamentally is.

When you ban the 152 eyes, you end up using only one node out of several hundreds. Some say it makes you a lot easier to deanonymize.

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

Does anybody know what the hell happened to the Funtoo project and what Daniel Robbins is up to nowadays? I heard the OG Gentoo project was taken over after he left to wageslave a while and make ends meet but that he couldn't retake its reins once he did try to come back, then coming up with the Funtoo project, which died a few years ago, but the page (https://www.funtoo.org/) was updated recently and I haven't seen anyone comment on it. Is anyone out there in the know of whatever it is that they're brewing?

Yea I guess but living in a new-ish house in Finland and having geothermal heating means I usually have to keep the AC on as opposed to having to heat anything up.

it is a good bait this one. it's very hard to distinguish if this is a genuine bait, because this would be exactly what a jeet would post. I guess it's so plausible that it may as well be real. I appreciate the simplicity, such a short post can incite so much anger in White people
>>
>>107891658
>AC
i usually open a window in the winter when my wood stove heats the place up too much, but you keep on keeping wasting that electricity.
>>
>>107891740

If the window is open, all the cold air rushes in and you get a draft. And it can mess whatever I'm 3d printing. The increased humidity is also an issue. After having the machine on basically 24/7 the relative humidity inside is perfect and there is zero draft. As that has been the normal for so long, I can sense the smallest difference now. But heat pumps aren't expensive to run and it mostly just dries the air.

help me perform RAM memory overclocking because the niggers from /v/ chased me away because I went there because it’s dead here, the prodigal son has returned
I have an ASRock B650 LiveMixer, two sets of G.Skill Flare X5, DDR5, 32 GB, 6000 MHz, CL30, that is 4 sticks of 16 GB, and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D.
Currently I have 3600 MHz CL40.
On the ATX ASUS PRIME X670-P motherboard there was a ready preset that worked on all sticks at 6000 MHz CL30, so it is possible.
well, I pasted this to them and that was enough, in English of course; I’ll add that I experimented with ready-made 6000 MHz factory presets from ASRock, but the computer doesn’t boot, I have to remove the battery to reset the BIOS.

We told you already... enable EXPO, lower frequency until it works.
Why are you even using 64GB instead of 32GB ?
games don't even use 32GB to begin with.
At least you'd be able to boot at 5600mhz with two 16GB sticks in dual channel (maybe eveen 6000mhz).

I play Star citizen sometimes and it's the hungriest game by FAR but it only used around 29GB in extreme niche circumstances.
>>
>>107891510
Can you not read? Nobody who knows their shit would run a setup like yours (4x16GB) to begin with. And even if somebody had the exact same setup, silicon lottery (i.e. unit variation) is a thing, so their settings would most likely not work for you.

Yes, but you have to remove the boot flag on your windows boot partition first, otherwise the next windows you will install, will overwrite you existing bootloader. You can do that with Gparted, it's literally a checkbox that says bootable or efi. After you installed your 2nd windows, you can set the efi / boot checkbox again.
>retard proof method
Get a 2nd drive, unplug your first drive with windows on it, plug in your 2nd drive, install windows. Done. Now plug both of the drives and you can change the boot order in bios, or depending on your mobo, you can open the boot manager menu with a keyboard shortcut, while booting.

>>107891937
