Whatever this thing is has been torturing my legs and lower back for the last decade (even with the support pillow), and it gets really hot. Still better than my wooden chair. Not sure if or what I should replace it with.
>>
I go to Jysk or Ikea and buy the comfiest, softest office chair they have and use it until it explodes from the weight of my fat obese ass. Usually takes 2-3 years.
Then I toss it in the garbage and repeat the process.
>>

>If you're sitting in the same chair everyday for 8+ hours you don't want it to be something that puts you in the habit of bad posture and makes you a hunchback when you're old.
this is a frustrating aspect of literally every modern car, and almost every gamer chair, none of them let you lean your head back, hunched forward with your head angled down is TERRIBLE posture, yet almost everything incentivises this.

Half the cars you buy don't even let you reverse or remove the headrest so you can enjoy decent posture, its terrible.
>>
>>107879677
you're retarded, stop putting a price on your comfort, buy one of the chairs nobody disputes the quality of ITT,

Also i hope nobody here sleeps in bed with 2 pillows under their necks. I used to do it, fucked up my neck something fierce in my mid-20s though.

>>107879709
those steelcase chairs look really good, except they seem to have rather limited adjustment options. They also cost more than couch recliners for less material, which is pretty shit though.

I'm making a game in Unity and using opensuse. the editor works just as well as it does on windows, the only problem I can think people might have is if they rely heavily on assets.
But I'm also sabotaging the windows build for my game. If my game detects you're on windows 11, it starts running nested loops in the background to slow down performance, then it changes their web browser home page to the opensuse download page.
Even worse, if you are on windows 11 and you open the game on a tuesday, thursday, or any day that is a prime number, then the game crashes immediately.

Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.

Hey music producing expert, I have a question: was it a talkbox or a vocoder used on Daft Punk's "digital love"? Back in the days on forums half of people were certain it was a vocoder while the other half were certain it was a talkbox, both trying to prove it by reproducing it with either a vocoder or a talkbox, getting more or less the same effect but never really the same. After 25 years, do we know the truth at last? I think it might have been both, the guy sang with a talkbox then they applied a light vocoder.

READ THE (temp)WIKI! & help by contributing:
https://igwiki.lyci.de/wiki/Home_server

/hsg/ is about learning and expanding your horizons. Know all about NAS? Learn virtualization. Spun up some VMs? Learn about networking by standing up a OPNsense/PFsense box and configuring some VLANs. There's always more to learn and chances to grow. Think you’re god-tier already? Setup OpenStack and report back.

>What software should I run?
Install Gentoo. Or whatever flavor of *nix is best for the job or most comfy for you. Jellyfin/Emby/Plex to replace Netflix, Nextcloud to replace Googlel, Ampache/Navidrome to replace Spotify, the list goes on. Look at the awesome self-hosted list and ask.

>Why should I have a home server?
De-botnet your life. Learn something new. Serving applications to yourself, your family, and your frens feels good. Put your tech skills to good use for yourself and those close to you. Store their data with proper availability redundancy and backups and serve it back to them with a /comfy/ easy to use interface.

Hi, /hsg/! So I recently stocked up on 2 big, identical HDDs for my homelab, a single beefed-up HP workstation that acts as a Proxmox host. I want to turn it into a nas. My question is:

What is the best way to go about making Proxmox into a NAS? Should I make a ZFS mirror on the proxmox host itself or should I make a VM and mount them there and the NAS service would run on that VM?

Apologies for the possibly retarded question in advance!
>>
>>107881460
I have my zfs pool created on the host where I then create thin provisioned virtual disks for the vm which hosts my nas. I initially wanted to do this so that I could centralized my backups with proxmox backup server (pbs), though it does create a bit of convolution, and I think I'm going to back up the nas data with zfs send instead at some point. It is nice to be able to move the disks between the vm's however so I'd do it like this again anyways. I also have multiple datasets and virtual disks on my pool for different vm's as it's not always good to do things off of a network share.

There's no such thing as perfect silence.
But there's different noises, and some are much better to listen to continuously than others.
High pitched humming is worse than low pitched humming. Fan noise can be soothing. This shit is not. It really is that simple.
>>
>>107869298
It's the same as always
Air cooling with a proper heatsink is enough 99% of the time ever since vapor chambers became a thing
Water cooling is only necessary if you're running danger-tier overclocks 24/7. In which case, you do a custom loop and you build it well
AIOs are a massive meme pushed by youtube tech shills and should be avoided

Just because you won't commit to marriage, or you decided to waste your time on a person that's not worth committing to, or if you're really wasting your time "dating" someone online (which you might as well be saying you're dating chatgpt), doesn't change what the actual purpose of dating is.
