I got a new Vizio soundbar for Christmas, so I decided to use my old Vizio soundbar for my CRT, placed on top. When I turned it on, the top part of the screen was discolored. I then spent the next hour learning about magnetization. Technology.Previously I had used a Best Buy soundbar that had been on top of my CRT for the last four years. Now that I learned about all this I did some further testing. When the Best Buy soundbar is stationary, everything is fine. But when I pick it up and shift it around, the image warps a little bit.Should I be worried about any components degrading since I've had it this way for four years? Should I just go and grab some shielded speakers? If so, what would you recommend? I just want better than the TV's built-in speakers.
