I use every digit expect my left thumb when typing, but I have some oddities where I don't always use the prescribed finger/key combinations. I think everybody has adaptations like this. The prescribed fingers are kind of bad for qwerty sometimes. Exampled: left hand index pushes the C key for me, it's a much more natural movement.
I think you're fine, as long as your wrists don't hurt. You'd know by now if you were fucking up your wrists with carpal tunnel.
>>
>>107691558
It's definitely not for WiFi, then. High frequency antennas are tiny.

I see. Yeah I tried to follow those prescribed combinations for 2 hours for qwerty and now I am feeling pretty awful.
>I think you're fine, as long as your wrists don't hurt. You'd know by now if you were fucking up your wrists with carpal tunnel.
My wrists don't hurt. I am gonna continue typing as I usually do and make use of other fingers if I feel like I guess, forcing it will end up bad for me.
Thanks I am clear now.

It can totally be a custom made Wi-Fi antenna no problem, 2.4GHz isn't super high or anything as the wavelength is around 12 centimeters / 5 inches.
I'm no scientist on the matter but when you take the wavelength you can paint a rough picture on antenna sizes by multiplying or dividing it. And bigger is always better so that means multiples of 12cm can translate to somewhat large antenna sizes.

For now. Loads of people buys an overkill computers just because they expect jeets to make their software increasingly bloated with time and want those extra resources so that the computer is still capable in a few years.

This. I lag one gen behind but buy used still in warranty MBAs. First bought a M1, currently using a M3.

What has changed in the last 20 years?

Image formats, audio formats, video formats, codecs, etc. all are basically the same. No new software that really requires a new computer. Everything you can do today can be done on a 15 year old computer.

What has even changed in operating systems? Shiny buttons, fancy graphics, and more fluff just so people have something to feel good about when they post their lame ricing screenshots.

After so many years, we still don't even have an open design of a CPU, Motherboard, RAM or any component. Forget current generation, if that's too much to ask, but even the ones from a decade ago don't have an open design. At least that would've been good reason to upgrade.

Otherwise, what even is the point of upgrading the computer so often? Just to play stupid video games?
>>
>>107691738
Local AI is the only reason right now to scale up.
It's going to take what maybe 5 more years when you actually need to upgrade if not more.
It depends also what cpu type you have AM4 or AM5 if AVX512 will become important in the future then I at least need to upgrade.

Never changed anything in the past 12 years except for the GPU 6 years ago and it's still running strong. 12 years overclocked to 4.7 GHz on water cooling.
Played Cyberpunk 2077 on all medium settings and it was an enjoyable experience. Seeing people's face pimple reflections in the water puddles wouldn't have increased the fun of playing a single bit.
Video game graphics haven't improved in the past 6 years, why should I upgrade the hardware?

Can i request some help please?
I would like to elevate my keyboard

I’ve been looking for a very specific keyboard and struggling to find it or even a place to custom add the features i want. I want to completely remove the need for a mouse.
I just want one device that can do everything i need, primarily playing the Sims and basic office related computer tasks.
It’s like i want a mash up of the following:
> https://sealshield.com/product/s108pg/

I have the Lenovo, and love it, but the trackpoint is only good for excel related things and is not enough for Sims and certainly doesn’t negate a mouse all together..
Thanks to anyone with some advice!

Is the whole "muh flash memory doesn't retain any data if left unpowered for a year+!" thing a retarded meme perpetuated by the spinning rust industry that we allowed ourselves to fall for? I get that it's an anecdotal sample size of one, but then again, all of my spinning rust HDDs failed after less than 10 years of use (also anecdotal, but makes me think).

I'm pretty sure that if you buy a new SD card today and you leave it unpowered for like 6 months all the filles will be completely corrupted. Treasure your SD because the shit you can buy now is absolutely worthless.

Hey /g/, maybe you can help me here. What's the best gloves to prevent gamer gunk buildup? I recently changed from a 8 year old G610 keyboard to a G915 X keyboard simply due to it being easier to clean,as well as the G610 keycaps kept breaking, but mice? I don't trust myself disassembling them without breaking something. I've tried copper compression gloves but I absolutely hate the feeling of them when worn.

I do. Maybe too much. I wash them any time I touch something slightly filthy, any time before I eat, any time I use the bathroom.

On many android phones, including Pixels, you cannot remove the navigation bar.
Why can't you remove it? It has no functional use, especially on OLED phones where static elements can lead to burn in.
You can't even hide it. It's just stuck there to remind you how cucked and powerless you are.

>>107693521

>>

>burn in
I don't think that's really an issue even on newest OLEDs, especially on a fucking phone.
>Its a phone, a lot of its time its locked with some degree of frequency or otherwise screen off
>tons of options to limit brightness and use different themes along with time of day or user choice
>refresh rate, color, and other options that automatically prevent work to prevent burn in etc
There's a reason why even where OLEDs ahve been used much longer on phones than on large displays they don't seem to have as many reports of burn in, even 5+ years back- the use is simply not as conducive to it even in the worst conditions. Now maybe if its some chink engagement farm you see pictured where the thing is lit up 24 hours a day at maximum brightness constantly clicking ads and shit but no normal usage is likely to end up with it, much less with built in protections. Hell, I have a LG C2 monitor as my primary display and no burn in.
>>
>>107693521
Here is what it looks like on googles stock pixel
>>
>>107693639
No retard it absolutely is an issue.
Little software tricks and higher pixel density does not change the basic physics of how oled screens work.
If anything a lot of these shitslabs use the screen as a heatsink which makes it even worse.
>>
I use the the 3 buttons. I literally don't care about burn in because I'm using that part of the screen to show the buttons anyway.

How easy is that to use? My parents use youtube a lot on the TV. While I already have a mini PC set up connected to the TV they still refuse to use it. I guess they don't like using mouse and keyboard.
I have a Samsung TV so that means I would need to get an Amazon Firestick to use it. I don't mind setting it up but if it's too complicated for a 60 year old boomer to use then I might not even bother.
