As data centers start to eat up all the electricity and water?

Yes.

But it isn't about datacenters. Datacenters will only add to the problems.

Really? You'd think it'd be the batteries that really hit. Panels only tend to be 56V and only a little nip... Enough energy to run my house for half a week sounds like it'd be more of a problem to me.

But then again, these things have isolation equipment for a reason.

They tried recalling the email after a couple of hours as presumably someone with some sense screamed at whoever thought that was a good idea. If I don't get a substantial payrise next year, will probably be forced into looking for a new job, I'm on shit money as a senior dev already.

What the fuck were those pinks switches called which are basically just a recolor of zakus?
>>

Strawberry Wine V1? And Geon Blacks are also Zaku recolor
>>
>>107590137
I'll take a black switch over a pink one then. Spring isn't identical to zakus but that's not a big deal.

I actually have a shitload of zakus so I'm not buying any now. It's just good to know that there's something available that's basically the same switch.

Amazing image. The smalls things like the mother holding her baby's mouth to avoid being spotted then her eyes looking at ours. Did we spot her? Are we hiding with her? It seems like a revolt from within the same city not really a military invading due to the lack of gear the men have. Something like the revolt started by Lukuas.

What programming languages could have avoided Cloudflare's Rust fail?
27 replies and 3 images omitted. Click here to view.
>>
>>107589592
No, Cloudflare in the past has also had trouble with an EDSL that compiled to C and that introduced a very bitter memory safety/UB bug. It is 100% reasonable for them to be apprehensive about UB. The issue is, Rust is not memory safe either. https://materialize.com/blog/rust-concurrency-bug-unbounded-channels/
>>
>>107589794
Also, memory safety, or the absence of UB, is necessary, but not generally sufficient.
>>
>>107589794
That memory safety bug you talk about had zero consequences and was on le spectre security theater level

i think he means it slows down your speed if you use sqm, which it does
i don't game and sqm takes a lot of trial and error to fine tune it so i just left it off for max throughput
>>
>>107589965
Yeah, but you can fine tune it to take only like 5Mbps off the top of your max bandwidth and still get all the benefits.
Really bad bufferbloat actually become very noticeable even outside of gaming when you're stressing your connection.

Bro, I know right? Types aren't even real.
I just do
static uint8_t *memory = 0;

// Initialize 32-bit counter to 10
memory[1000] = 10;
memory[1001] = 0;
memory[1002] = 0;
memory[1003] = 0;
>>

>it depends on why you're sleeping
Thread barriers, some threads need to wait for the another to be done. The only one that doesn't spike usage to 100% so far that I've found is sleep_milliseconds(1), but that's far from ideal due to how that works.
>>
>>107590114
You should not be sleeping for that, there are much better ways to do it
iirc I used CreateEvent and WaitForSingleObject
>>
>>107590140
Thanks I'll look into those later when I come back to it, for now I'm just using SwitchToThread. I'm very early in development and my loops are just empty so there's not much point trying solutions when the issue is currently not a real-world one. Just got stuck looking up a solution to it and it seems Windows doesn't really have a good one.

Most people had switched to Nvidia or ATI by then. 3dfx was circling the drain by that point. The Voodoo 4 and 5 were released between June and October 2000. Nvidia purchased the company in December and driver support ended in February 2001. At that time you'd have felt extremely fucked over, though if you'd held onto the card for 20 years you'd have made your money back and a whole lot more.
