back in the day waterfox was 64bit firefox, so it had serious benefits
nowadays it's just a simple fork, it changes default settings to remove all the bad "mozillaisms", from things like AI sloppa (except where it makes sense, the translate page local ML is still enabled because it's actually nice) to Pocket, Chat, etc. also removes all telemetry. it also changes the style back a little bit, to still having tabs, and includes treestyletab (though, honestly just use sidebery instead), and includes container tabs by default (normally you need to install a noop extension to enable the feature)
i like it because for me it's nigh zero-setup to something i'm happy using, but honestly it's nothing special and you can just as well use bare firefox and tweak it yourself
>>
Any thoughts on Floorp?

Yeah, there's basically no major difference between it and Firefox outside of some about:config changes and a few more options in the privacy settings, so I'd argue it's pretty much the most straight forward switch if all you want is "Firefox without Firefox's bullshit"

The problem with NBP is that if you do something like "semi-realistic anime style influenced by X artist", it brings its default, generic, style in the mix. And that (subjectively) sucks. Where it works well is imitating specific anime/manga styles. Maybe one should experiment with mixing specific anime/manga artists and specific historical art styles/movements.

>>
>>107592445
Yeah, I completely agree. But philosophically (lol) 320 mp3 is like lossy to lossless. It's an overkill, but you feel good about it.
>>

>is the new audio codec from 2013 better than the one from the 1990s?
no, they just made it for fun as an hobby project, just for the hell of it, and we like to mention it for funzies.
seriously, I don't understand why people even ask these dumbass questions, it's bait, right?
>>
>>107590972
Yes, there is a real difference, you can see it when looking at a spectrogram. Lossy compression removes information deemed unimportant for the application.
Does that difference matter though? Can you hear it? Will you care? The answer is probably no.
>>
>>107590972
Lossless obviously means variable bitrate, sounds the same as the original. 320 is constant, which means variable quality. Sometimes the difference is noticeable, sometimes maybe not, in my experience.

the fucked up bag that orders always come in will probably be mistaken for trash by any would-be porch pirates.
it'll be fine.
>>
They used a really weird courier for one of my orders. I looked it up and it's some fly by night outfit run by Africans. The news did story on it. Their "warehouse" are run down old commercial spaces they rent and dump shit everywhere. Like torn deformed old boxes with the signature aliexpress grey-bagged packages spilling out everywhere. A shitty little desk in the middle of all of it with a woman sitting there. Looking up the comments online are really bad. Most courier services will inevitably have bad comments but this is worse. Just pages and pages of comments saying it's horrible. The tracking for mine so far is following what the comments have said. It's inaccurate. It doesn't make sense to begin with. It scanned out for delivery but it never arrives. Maybe a couple of guys will roll up one day and drop it off. At least that's what the comments say. This makes me miss the Indian couriers.

Graphene OS is one of the best when it comes to security on the mobile front, but the one thing that keeps fucking with my head is the simple fact that YOU CAN NOT EDIT NOR REMOVE THE GOOGLE LOGO ON FUCKING BOOT....no one has made any comments to confirm if there is a backdoor either on the chip-level... Like you know intelme exists....SO....it's possible that something similar exist or a zero-day exploit on the chip level. Any discussions around this is always:

{bro don't worry about it}
{bro if true then you got bigger problems}
{bro its needed because its just is #trustme}
{bro its actually proof that the device is even more secure...accept the google logo on a degoogled phone}

Maybe I am retarded but can anyone even see the boot loader code ?

>EDIT NOR REMOVE THE GOOGLE LOGO ON FUCKING BOOT
I believe that's actually written to it's firmware.. like, at the BIOS level for equivial PC architecture... I could be wrong...

>a backdoor either on the chip-level
I am of the opinion it does. I have zero evidence.
But, that said, you'll find the same backdoors in every other ARM silicon.

I recall many moons ago, a couple of generation into the i3/5/7 line, there was big marketing song and dance with a partnership with RealVNC.
Thow RealVNC on Core0 and then you can dial into it remotely, outside the OS. Demo vid had realVNC muppet restting a PC 'remotely' and he was in the BIOS *before* the physical screen had displayed the BIOS. This is also when they started packaging in 3G onchip, which suspiciously I've never encountered anyone getting the number, or even the IMEI, to.

Very interestingly, information on the onchip 3g, and even the onchipVNC has become thin on the ground... just vanished...

>can anyone even see the boot loader code ?

You should be able to compile it for other than Pixel devices I think. I run a self compiled CrDroid.

You should be able to flash alt logos in the fastboot environment.
>>
>>107593942
I looked through all the transistors on a pixel phone with my electron microscope, don't worry you're safe. No backdoors

LXQt is good, I use it. It's lightweight and it's got some good features. One feature I like is a taskbar widget which displays the output of a shell command, every few seconds. So it's easy to show pretty much an info you like in the taskbar. I don't think LXDE can do that. Also I'm not sure how much LXDE is still developed.
