they're a godsend even only for the primary constructor so you can declare a class/struct in a single line

Why does something like that justify the need for records? You lose fine control in exchange for being able to shit them faster and you have AI to do that now, and autocomplete and snippets even before that.

OFC isn't that expensive and there's no particular reason to get CCA instead. What's more important is getting enough cross section for the length, i.e. 2.5 or 4mm2 instead of 1.5.

Can someone explain to me non-ironically the use case of professional cardioid dynamic microphones during youtube interviews or debates that are seemingly conducted over a video call, which I would expect reduces sound quality

>delusional /g/tards think pro musicians use nothing but analog tech to produce music because analog is king because of a single anecdotal example
lol
lmfao even
maybe post deadmau5' meme studio to prove me wrong

Everyone moved to digital track recorders the moment they were viable, with Dire Straits being one of the more notable examples of it. Same with moving to CD's ASAP due to them having superior dynamic range compared to the compact cassette or the vinyl, the entire industry ditched analog solutions the moment digital was as good, if not better, because it was cheaper and easier to use.
All the modern vinyls and all the vinyls dating back to like 80's were recorded and mastered digitally, so there is no "superiority" of the analog sounds on these, just digital recordings getting downgraded by having to lower the dynamic range so that the needle won't physically jump out of the grooves.

But of course /g/ knows better and no pros ever use DAW's or any digital form of music making. Same delusions as audiovoodoo wackos believing there's "analog" and "digital" sound, and "analog" obviously sounds superior because they've paid $10,000 for their setup.
>>
Oh yeah, most importantly: a heapton of today's "superior" physical equivalents of these "inferior" VST plugins are literally just physical wrappers for those VST plugins. The audio processing done is still the exact same. Analog is only utilized for unique synthesizers and no one in their right mind would sit purely in the analog world when most of the shit can be done just as well with VST plugins and other digital processing.
https://youtu.be/NYV2-nv5mok
Truth is, if you are a shit musician, no amount of money spent on analog hardware will improve your work. You're either able to pull out creative tracks or you don't.

It's the same cope as investing thousands in meme keyboards in hopes of improving your typing speed, or investing thousands in gear to improve your gayming skills. Tools are only a physical cap of your skill ceiling, not it's definition.

here's the real answer: yes you use a video call but on a podcast recording website. That website records the sound (and sometimes video) locally in high quality, after the interview ends the software then uploads the high quality audio to the website and the podcaster can download the video file with the two audio tracks recorded locally

Chromium gtk theme makes everything too white with no contrast, any way to improve it?
>>
>>108566937
You can't fix GTK. It's busted. I'm still vexed that you have to manually enable "Use the system titlebar" in Chromium. That should be on by default! Yes, I would like the titlebar to look like every other app on my system.

If the anticheat is open source and free it isn't a problem. Fuck cheaters, the kernel should absolutely expose a protocol to be able to detect cheaters in video games, and it should be able to use harddware attestation for security.

>>
>>108566941
That's the thing. You need the anti-cheat to be using immutable hardware, similar to the TPM, for it to be effective. Then it can be open source and not bypssable.

Real solution is to move everything to a user mode driver platform, then heavily restrict all things in the ACPI table which expose direct memory access. It will take a long time

Stop pestering people about switching to Linux. Sure, the system is free, but the time you'll waste on it just isn't worth it.

Here’s what happened to me after installing CachyOS:

>No HDR support
>Raytracing disabled in games
>Can't disable the login password when using GNOME
>Can't run games over a cable to my Quest 3 – even after installing wivrn, Half-Life: Alyx (which I don't even own on Steam) still doesn't work.

On top of that, GNOME keeps showing me a window asking for financial support.

And sure, Claude and DeepSeek are supposedly meant for coding and writing commands, but they can't even figure out my Linux issues — they just give me broken commands.

I'm stuck with Windows.

the downward slope part of the dunning-kruger effect is really hard to overcome
i have actual microsoft certifications from before i switched to linux fully, and it wasn't until i was more comfortable with linux than windows that i realised just how little those meant. at this point i can't scarcely tell the difference between consumer and certified confidence in windows
>>
>>108564856
There is no downward slope part of the dunning-kruger effect. People correctly rank themselves, not perfectly corresponding with a hammered result curve is irrelevant to anything.
>>
>>108564563
Dude, using Linux is not complicated. The problem with people like you is that you've never worked in IT and your whole personality boils down to using an OS. Constantly tinkering and tweaking useless shit that doesn't matter at all.

People who do actual work know that every tool is good for something and just use that.
>>
>>108566084
This elusive "real work" that people keep referencing. All I can imagine is that you mean Visual Studio IDE jockying or Microsoft Office stuff. Microsoft had to embed a gimped Linux inside itself with WSL just to get Docker working. Virtualization just sucks on Windows. There isn't some great a Windows selling point like how FreeBSD has jails, bhyvie, zfs on root. The only advantage Windows has is more corporate software, it being preinstalled on new computers, and inertia.

Not to mention forced updates. You can turn off multiple different services in the registry and it'll still slowly undo those changes, as of turning off the Updater and the Doctor for the updator wasn't enough.

I also dislike how installing applications that are basically spyware is way more acceptable on Windows and even the norm.

>I thought groups got releases from AMZN because of the higher bit-rate
That's why groups will subscribe through and download from Amazon instead of the original platform. For a lot of content the streaming subscription is the only way to access it. Subscribing through Amazon gives you access to Amazon's encode of the same content. It also streamlines things. One less platform to deal with API breakage on.
