I would like to interject for a moment. What you call a phone is actually a tablet. And more precisely a laptop-keyboard. That is a laptop minus keyboard. You do not have a phone. You have a phone app masquerading a gimped netbook as a mobile phone.

they still need to cover a few menial jobs for now, and it's better to have ministeriales bound in a servile relationship than free men for them. h1bs, similar work permits and illegals are legal serfs.

they need to prop up the current system for now because they're not quite there yet, the 0.01% can't fully excise the 90% of worthless mouths without also destroying the 9% that occssionally do some useful work and 0.99% they rely on to survive. but we're approaching that point where they only need their close personal retinues and torture slaves to survive.

Those messages are automatic, it's not like someone took the time to write a special message just for you. By the way, you're probably with your download hanging because of that. Most people that have actual good pieces require you to share some content before they enable your download. Free leeching is for niggers.

Biggest difference might be the default package formats of the files (.rpm/.deb) that they install

But you're right to be confused as I certainly am from the other anon's complaint because they're essentially just different ways to skin the same cat and they generally all do the same exact things:
1. Install software
2. Remove software
3. Handle dependency resolution
4. List/show software
5. Add/remove remote sources/repos
That's all. If they do it they MIGHT have slightly different syntax "upgrade" vs "update" (maybe), "info" vs "show"
>>
>>107652451
What do you mean "beta?" Ive been running 24.04 with cosmic since release. Haven't had a single issue. Not one.

I should add "how" they go about it, i.e. their implementation details which define performance and what they choose to do in dependency resolution, especially in default cases, might be worth digging into but I'd say that's more of a niche concern and not worth the level of autism displayed by some on this board, imo

Arch is only for x86_64 with a shitty repo, the 30 retards in charge of the project can barely do infrastructure maintenance and just pushes everyone to do their jobs instead "because arch is a community". Couldn't even maintain a package signing server, maintainer had to sign with their own computer, until Valve had enough and gave them a server, then Arch went nuts with the "we are collaborating with Valve".
>but Arch is not only x86_64
Yeah, that's another project not affiliated with the official Arch project.
>but Fedora is beta testing
Pretty much anything released and funded by Red Hat ends up in most distros. You tell me why Arch accepts all of that. Right, Arch just cares about being upstream (which is the real beta testing) and adopt what already works, they don't define new ways to do things, they don't do shit. SystemD, wayland, flatpak, pipewire, podman, btrfs, valkey, atomic distros, shim UEFI bootloader, NetworkManager, firewalld, bootc, toolbox, cockpit, plymouth, and way more, pushing for actual change. Fedora touches a lot of uncomfortable topics because it has to be talked about sooner or later, decisions are made, everyone criticize and once it is demonstrated it works, gets adopted by everyone. Of course they have failures but that is the purpose of the distro (while obeying US Laws, like the Linux Kernel itself). Debian is meant to be a distribution for everyone (ironically it cannot be distributed in North Korea, Syria, Iran and Cuba). Gentoo is meant to give the most customization to their users (which I think is the real Arch, with or without compiling).
You like to build your system from the ground up? You can do that with Debian, Fedora, Gentoo, Guix, NixOS, Slackware, openSUSE. Want server image? A running GUI ootb? A minimal image? Other architectures? They got you covered, Arch can't. They don't care, is not the scope of the project and that's fine. But users think Arch is the greatest shit and it's not.

Was vine the single most mishandled company, or perhaps most ahead of its time of the app era?
>sold for 30 million, cheap Chinese knock off was just valued at half a trillion
>even the knock offs of the knock off are worth more
>shut down before it even had a chance to profit from the concept it introduced
Of course it’s just as likely vine never had the capability to develop their algorithm as TikTok has.

The 7 second video time limit as too short. There was no way to share real original content like music or non-ADHD skits, no way to create addictive videos ("informational"/coomer/political/ etc). The most exposure I had to vine were youtube cringe compilations.
>>
>>107652517
I forgot it only allowed 7 seconds. I have to think they would’ve got rid of that eventually.
>>
It was too soon. Now with the ADHD retards it'd eat tiktok lunch. Maybe juste increase the duration to 9s.
>>
>>107652383
WHAT ARE THOOOOOOOSE?
>>
>>107652930
They couldn't afford more than 7 seconds at the time. Serving millions of videos was more expensive in the early 2010s. Since this was a limiting format, it capped how much they could grow.
Tiktok could do 15 seconds on release and was able to get to 60s in a couple of years. There was way more data center capacity when tiktok came out and there would be exponentially more as time went on, so it was easier for them. Plus they were backed by Chinese capital and technology already established in China. Vine basically came out a few years too early to succeed.

Copy and paste works fine on my wayland system.

Try titanium backup. You could also use Syncthing if you have issues with titanium backup for whatever reason. You can also just start an ftp server. Also, adb has support for this. Read the adb documentation. It can even be done over wifi now.

>almost made me install emacs
Well, it kinda does the job, it would be 100x better if we had multi-threading support. It's a shame we will probably never have that. But I mean, it works fine, it's fast as Vim since the computation part happens on the C core, very few things regarding text editing are actually computed in the Lisp, so it will run fast even in older computers.
>>107652772
>i just download the vns from nyaa.si and run them with wine
Sorry for the dumb question. I was never a "gamer" to begin with, specially after moving to Linux. So I'm completely clueless on the Linux game situation. I installed Steam now to see if I will manage to run some VN here.
>also i like your desktop, emac users always have good taste
And it's very simple. Just XFCE with dark theme, a nice wallpaper I found somewhere and that's it. I also like white desktops as yours, but it's hard to get used to it since I'm always with lights off.
>>
>>107652993
guix is probably not the distro you'd want to use for gaming but singleplayer games basically run flawlessly on linux nowadays thanks to proton and steam deck making linux gaming more mainstream
i recommend searching sukebei.nyaa.si (if you dont want to pay) since most vns are eroge and will require steam patches to get uncensored anyway.. also steam doesnt offer lolige
>it's fast as Vim since the computation part happens on the C core, very few things regarding text editing are actually computed in the Lisp
i love emacs but this is wrong, emacs is considerably slower because those C primitive functions are still called through dozens of wrapper elisp functions and also emacs will sometimes just hang because of the gc
>>
>>107642301
>>
>>107653345
>emacs is considerably slower because those C primitive functions are still called through dozens of wrapper elisp functions
Well, we have libgccjit and native-comp, most of the most common text editing functions will be "jitted" anyway, so you're not supposed to notice latency due to the function call overhead. But depending on what you're doing maybe JIT won't be of any help.
>also emacs will sometimes just hang because of the gc
That's something I always heard people talking about but never happened to me and I've been using Emacs since 2008-10. It was fast back then and it's still fast today. Of course it isn't as fast as Vim, but that's the price you pay for more "features". If you add a bunch of those "features" to vim you will also end up with a clanky and sluggish runtime. I never noticed any latency while typing, but things like lsp-mode tend to make everything slower, so I prefer to just not use any LSP at all, not even eglot. Also, if you're really having problems with GC you can always try something like this:
(setq gc-cons-threshold 100000000) ; 10MB

>i recommend searching sukebei.nyaa.si (if you dont want to pay) since most vns are eroge and will require steam patches to get uncensored anyway
Okay, good to know. The only VN I played was Hollow Ataraxia and Steins Gate, but that was a long time ago. Do you have any recommendations? The only thing I don't like too much is guro, but I'm okay with the rest.

If you actually open up the source code for KurobaEx you will immediately understand that it's the best, most professional, well documented, and well thought out 4chan app ever made.

Everything about it is professionally done, it makes sense, theres documentation throughout the code, it looks like it was a labor of love rather than some hacked together garbage.

I sincrerely appreciate K1rkshenaou (probably butched kek) for his work. It's really just a good application, period.

Go open the source tree in Android Studio if you don't believe me, and actually appreciate the work that he has put into it.
