So I just need to do basic tasks like listen to music, stream video, and browse basic websites. Is installing windows 2000 a bad idea? How fucked will I be for drivers? The reason I want to do this for one, it's botnet free, and two it was the most streamlined of classic operating systems. I really have a boner for Windows 2000 and I just want to know if it's even moderately viable to use in this day and age.

>>107705709What, like on modern hardware? You will almost certainly have no driver support whatsoever and I don't think Win 2000 even has a 64b version, which would mean you're going to be limited to <4GB usable RAM. That wouldn't be completely unusable for a modern browser, but it's tight, assuming you can even get a modern browser capable of displaying the modern web properly.

Is this a flaw of Grok or am I just using it wrong? If you want to make an small edit using two images it just generates a completely different image
>>107704024I think this is more of an issue with your prompting, than Grok generation capabilities. You have to keep in mind, you are talking to a computer, not a person. You have to translate your commands more efficiently in a way it understands for it to do exactly what you want.
>>107704024>grokYou should be using Qwen Image Edit, Flux2, or Gemini if you want good editing. Grok's a cutting edge text model but in the visual domain it's still about a year behind.

Hi there /g/, OP here againI got my answer 2 days ago from reddit but its quite hilarious that you are keeping my thread alive purely out of spite bc I called you ADHD added morons, but sadly you are still not getting any of my (you)'s. Should have thought about that before it took you 8 hrs to respond to a single question.Your bumps have been quite amusing though so keep embarrassing yourself- all the pings ive been getting are quite yummy.

>>107716222>>107716234ive tried a few things but i think the culprit is running emacs on windows
>emacsclient literally exists>anon still tries to optimize his init.elok
>>107716712Ahh neat, I share most of those frustrations. I don't have the "everything is a buffer" concept, instead everything is a "view" (which can contain buffers), and users can either make their own views or use kitchen-sink ones like popups/overlays/completion/notifications/etc. Keeps everything looking polished and consistent but still extensible. There's no minibuffer, instead it's like you said, mostly transient menus/UI. As for bindings I'm only supporting modal keybinds at first, might not be as hackable as emacs in that sense. But I don't have that primitive obsession, keymaps/sequences/selections/etc. are all separate structures. At some point I can probably get it to a similar level but that's just not a priority for me right now. Also I use ropes for buffer text instead of gap buffers. I'll post a clip if interested when I'm done refactoring this stuff.
>>107716966Not that anon but I'm interested on that clip.

how come we can't have 3 button mouses like this anymore?the mouse scroll is prone to breaking, and the mouse3 click is just uncomfortable to useif I had just a regular button for mouse3 I could click to hold-and-scroll a page with ease and the mouse would never break

Forget mouse slop, get a trackball. So much better, no wrist stress. Takes some effort to get used, but then you'll NEVER want to go back.

10yrs ago even high end GPUs were sub-$1000 (1080ti launch price was $699 and this was already considered excessive), you'll just pay more and more for the same things that used to be cheap because you still NEED and want a gaming PC and you'll pay whatever they ask you for. It's part of the slow, managed collapse of western economies, where things that used to be common consumption become luxury goods.
