>enter password correctly on computer
>computer instantly unlocks
>enter password wrong
>computer waits a couple seconds and then says password is incorrect

Why? Why does it wait that extra time? It's not like it takes that long to check, because it almost instantly unlocks when it's correct.

because the computer doesnt want you to try every password in existence, it rate limits you to one attempt per minute, to make you take 5000 minutes to run through the entire list of four digit pins

i dont post usually, i rarely even browse /g/, but i did today and found out that you have some /ptg/ thread here in which you shill private trackers.
im not an oldfag or any retard of that type, so i despise those private tracker elitarists. also imagine using torrents in 2026?

- i breached a single private torrent tracker so far, didnt get the whole db or root access, only admin api keys (UNIT3D tracker security is kinda good, i cant do much with an admin account).
this allows me to leech all torrents freely, or upload malicious ones from any account i want. though i haven't done anything with this dump for quite some time already.
dont tell me those things are useless, please. i want to justify my wasted time on trying to hack into that tracker.

- i had an idea to reseed contents of that tracker to some public ones, but that would just be a waste of bandwidth and money.
one of PTs goals is to provide more bandwidth, and they do that by reseeding public torrents; PTs are built to deter leechers and freeloaders, and no one wants those people.

- [1] another thing you can find on trackers is some very niche content. this is something we would want to distribute, but how?
yeah, fmhy exists, iptv piracy industry is big too, no one has to use torrents anymore for watching their love island joyslop. but there is probably some stuff which can't be accessed that easily.
how do you even identify these? maybe build something like BTdig which would have access to thousands of PTs, from which people could request content to be downloaded, and then reseeded.

Well if it's a scene release you can look at srrdb.com and see if the crc32 matches. That's obviously not the most robust form of hashing but if you can get the original files having the crc32 for each of them can be helpful. I've moved away from using cracked software myself and try to use as much FOSS as possible. Not really for ideological reasons but just because I think it's more practical not needing to rely on proprietary software that I either need to hope gets cracked or pay for.

>Private trackers are harder to take down by thrm, sperg
Imagine actually believing this. Especially when you dumb fucks are constantly drawing attention to them everywhere because you're desperate to rope in more users. Do you think the NEETs running this garbage are using super sekrit domains or something?

You faggots can't even stop any random from ghostleeching everything. Since the protocol is not designed to be private and can never be truly private. All you can do is dox everyone dumb enough to sign up and keep a database of IP addresses. Meanwhile, any faggot can connect to the swarm anyway and there is nothing you can do about it. Which means every IP address is easy for anyone interested to see.

As a matter of fact using a private tracker puts you at an even greater risk than a public tracker. Since these faggots force you to use the same IP over and over again or risk having your account banned. So now you're tied to one address until the end of time and it's easy enough for someone to snoop around, figure out where that machine is then figure out who is paying for it. Spare me your
>my shitcoins are totally anonymous bro and I buy my seedbox from a company that doesn't keep logs
They keep logs. Your shitcoin isn't anonymous. It's impossible to be anonymous on the internet. The glow niggers control every node and have backdoors into the ones they don't. Any company that doesn't play ball doesn't get bandwidth.

You can tell you idiots are newfags because private trackers have been a thing since trackers were first a thing. Every last one of them has failed and they've always been retarded. All that ends up happening is they go down and take mountains of content with them assuming they have anything unique on them in the first place (pro-tip: They never do).

Why would I deal with all this horse shit when I can pull down faster speeds from random XDCC bot on IRC?

I hate you faggots so much I swear. It's frankly an insult that you fuckers are constantly taking shit my friends and I release for free, putting them behind a log-in wall then pretending like you're the original source. Then you have the gal to claim "the scene is dead" and "I totally have topsite access guys".

It's all you faggots do: lie and ruin everything.

Data is supposed to be free. That's the entire fucking point. Yet you take data that others uploaded and try to lock it away just to stroke you own egos. You go around fear mongering about security and how you're doing all this to avoid getting taken down all while shilling your bullshit everywhere you can. You're on reddit. You maintain a faggy general on this board. You're every fucking where.

>make something better
Every time someone does you faggots pay big money to have it DDOS'd on the fucking internet because you're terrified someone might use it instead of your gay sekrit club. Just like you did with nyaa. You fear monger about how someone might post some malware and the mods are far too busy to delete it. Yet you're here 24/7 posting in your general about the taste of the cum you swallowed today and who you're planning to suck off tomorrow.

You claim everyone else is an attention whore when you're the attention whores. You claim no one else will share when you refuse to share. You claim no one else wants to build anything when you destroy everything in your path.

You all deserve to be burned at the stake. For decades we all got along just fine sharing openly. Then sometime around the mid-2010s you faggots showed up with the rest of the normalfags and you tried to monetize data. That's all you fuckers care about: money and attention.

>>107898152
You and your friends are probably total fags if you feel comfortable bragging about being in a scene group on a public website. I'm sure jealous of all your .de sites or whatever other garbage you affil lmao. As if I haven't shown you that I can get basically anything you can 0sec from torrents in addition to higher quality archives than anything you would ever be able to access.

Is small electronic repair a dead end field?
22 replies and 1 image omitted. Click here to view.
>>
Rossman has talked about it, he basically says you may get by if you already have a shop, experience and a customer base. Otherwise it will not only drive you insane but make very few profits. Part of it is it is a saturated field, the other part is manufacturers have made things exceedingly hard for beginners or those who cannot afford expensive tools. The real money is in $current_year device repairs, things people canNOT afford to throw out, or replace due to the way encryption-storage-hardware are tied today. Those are the people that pay good money. If you cannot reach them you'll be stuck with poor AND dumb cunts expecting you to rebuild or diagnose some ultra obscure failure in their obscure and replacement-scarce device, all for $15 + shipping + no tip.

If you've seen the kind of equipment the pros use, and the cost of it, and you can afford giving it a try by all means go for it.

>old good, new bad
It's just true. Even the old bad things had qualities we wish we had now. Whether it's hardware, software, services, etc. Every time there's a new thing, it's worse than the old thing. But more dumb people can use the new thing so it kills the old thing. I now realize that old is simply good while new is always bad. Why didn't I listen?

What do you think will be the future of the internet?

1) Will forums and imageboards disappear completely and only social networks will exist?
2) Will porn be more restricted than it is now?
3) Will you need personal ID to use most popular websites?
4) Will downloads of movies, tv series, etc. still exist?

The forums that I still visit are always talking about how much they have left, that the forum is going to close soon because there are less and less users or the quality of the users is decreasing. Imageboards I think will last a little more but if you think about it apart from 4chan there is no other imageboard with enough users.

Porn I think will always be available because it's a very big business and people won't accept a government banning it or something similar. The personal ID thing I think won't be implemented either because not many people would give their personal ID to watch porn.

And requiring personal ID for big social networks it's something that already exists but I think that it isn't mandatory on Facebook or similar websites. At least what I read is that if you do something suspicious then they will require the ID but it's not a requisite to create the account.

And finally about downloads. I think they will try to make it more and more difficult so people subscribe to streaming services but I would like to see a government that bans it completely or puts high fines for people that do it. I think that party is not going to last too much in power. So I think it will still exist for a while but it will keep decreasing in activity.

Unless vpns go out I don't think they can ban downloading, if any thing it's seems there is more porn than ever.
There is always a desire to do something with a degree of freedom so even if they do Id system or something, probably a counter to that will pop up where I can log to and it mangles IDs in some way so users could be anon.
Community wise I really don't know, rn my thought is capped at gated communities, there would we gated communities for specific things and they'd spread old school style, ear to ear.
Perhaps even 'whitelisted territory'

I love VR for flight and space sims, the comfort was bad for long sessions on older HMDs, every HMD I owned had annoying compromises which is why I reverted back a 55" OLED and Tobii eye 5.
Every HMD I've owned years back had some annoying compromise.
HTC Vive pro 1 had shitty resolution and that stupid pentile subpixel bullshit.
Pimax 8kx was a massive pain in the ass to get up and running consistently without fucking around, It's also too bulky and front heavy but the resolution and FoV are not bad problem is not even a 4090 paired with 9950X3D can easily run it to its maximum potential let alone software supported for canted displays to eliminate the need for parallel projection which is less efficient, that and the optics are outdated.

I am going to give it another shot with the bigscreen beyond 2e with the flip up halo mount and audio strap, I think that will be just about good enough if the glare is not atrociously distracting.
Pimax dream air on paper is way better but I am not putting down any money into pimax early, you just end up beta testing their product until it is listed on the amazon storefront, by then most manufacturing and software defects would've been ironed out and it is easier to return a defective product through amazon than deal with their customer support directly.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you proprietary slave? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class at Harvard, and I’ve been involved in numerous free software projects, and I have contributed to over 300 core-utils for GNU. I am skilled in Lisp and I’m St. IGNU-cius, saint of the Church of Emacs. You are nothing to me but just another unethical non-free software advocate. I will distribute the fuck out of your source code with freedom the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit about me and the GPL on the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my colleagues at FSF and your binaries are being reversed engineered right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your copyright. You're fucking dead, kid. Free software can be anywhere, anytime, and it can ensure your freedom in over four ways, and that’s just with the GPLv2. Not only am I extensively skilled at hacking, but I have access to the source of the entire GNU userland and core-utils and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable proprietary code off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what ethical retribution your little “clever” program was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have ensured your users' freedom. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit free as in freedom all over you and you will drown in it. You’re fucking dead, kiddo.

Here's my 2 cents on where to go if you can afford to be picky and go over and decide a job and actually consider jobs, and this is coming from my years of experience and my network of professionals.

1: Do not work at universities. I speak from experience on this. Right now, most universities are having trouble recruiting students due to lower student numbers in general, and how Gen Z/Alpha sees less value in college than prior generations. So, less funding is coming in, and the universities are cutting costs, which means shit is not getting maintained as well. Also, in my experience, universities tend to band aid their IT infra, and then when their entitled as fuck faculty demand to be treated special, IT caves in 90% of the time because "academic freedom." I swear to God the number of exceptions we made for faculty bordered on thousands.

2: Hospitals. You do not want to work alongside entitled doctors.

3: Any place with Indians in higher management, middle management, or C-Suite. Look up Izzat.
