A few of you may have discovered today that thumbnails suddenly stopped loading in Firefox. I did.Checking the browser console, I found errors for each thumbnail in the catalog which said "A resource is blocked by OpaqueResponseBlocking, please check browser console for details."After disabling browser.opaqueResponseBlocking in about:config, those error messages turned into 403's and the images would still not load.I did a desuarchive search for Firefox and found a post in /trash/ saying "I figured it out. 4chan is now asking for referrers when requesting images from 4cdn... TL:DR; 4chan wants to know where you were before loading an image." along with a screenshot of all about:config settings with the word "referer" in them. With the help of that screenshot, I pinpointed the issue to network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy in about:config, which I had set to 2 for whatever reason, I don't know. Setting it to 0 fixed the problem. Most of you on Firefox probably won't experience this since 0 is the default setting. So, for those of you also experiencing this issue, there's the fix, and now the fix is on desuarchive for others to find.Feel free to discuss the technological/privacy ramifications of this change by 4chan, or if the /trash/ poster's analysis is correct.
The spoofing should work, no?
>>107669497>Don't just let any faggot know where you're coming from, install referrer spoofer addonModern browsers use the strict-origin-when-cross-origin referrer policy by default, and common extensions like uBlock Origin already can and do override Referrer-Policy header values on network responses to tear out any more privileged value. This means only the origin (i.e. domain/hostname) will be sent, not the resource you were actually looking at.If that's not good enough for you, you can override to no-referrer by default and white-list certain domains that need it to allow for strict-origin-when-cross-origin.You don't need separate additional extensions.
>>107674247>can detect all of the websites you were visited beforeReferrer header only contains the one previous website you came from. It cannot see the whole chain. There is intentionally no browser API that allows for this.
Maybe one of you can help me fix my shitI'm on Firefox and the "please verify that you're human" cloudflare check doesn't work on 4chan specifically (and not in incognito either). I press verify and it keeps looping and nothing happens. I can visit other sites just fine. I've had this issue a week ago >>107611158 and >>107612219 and since then I've just been posting normally because it fixed itself out of nowhere. if this gonna keep happening I'd like an actual way to fix it

The origins of which all boil down to internal squabbling between Patton and Eisenhower. Why would something being written in rust make me angry?
Actual reason: it's a convoluted language heavily shilled by FAGMAN. It's constantly being forced by retards who MIT license everything because it's the default license choice on Github.Meme reason: tranny tranny tranny tranny tranny tranny.

we need a gpl v4/lgpl v4/agpl v4 with clauses on ai trainingand a gpl v2.5 with the same but no tivoization clausesany model trained on this code must only produce code licensed as GPL or a compatible copy left licensewould solve corpo use of ai honestly

>>107691230Do you really think they would care about it? I don't think they would.Facebook has already showed that they don't care about breaking the law to train their AI. I don't think the US government will do anything about it. Doing something about it would mean potentially losing the AI race to China. American laws don't apply in China, so they would not care to follow it anyway.

Is Tails compromised?
>>107690214Schizo talk but the moment I saw the corpo jew artstyle they use on their main page years ago I just knew it was a CIA honeypot
Devs by own admission dont know how to use pgp anymore. They also go against the grain of the Tor Project and include ublock origin in TBB when that is stupidly fucking retardedIt isn't compromised in the sense its ran by feds, its compromised in the sense its ran by morons who unironically have no background or experience or respect for what tails is supposed to be or who the target audiance is fof a real, secure, system, they even go out of their way to make fun of the so called "privacy enthusiast", while trying at the same time trying to cite that the main usage of Tor is by domestic violence victims, like some 20 year old woman is going to boot up tails to avoid the network stalking on her boyfriend's wifi network. Just asininely insane stupid motherfuckers. The document on their wiki is called personas. It's stupid. The privacy enthusiast autist is the one who has no life but yet has the time to devot to making the product good, don't alienate him/her, and further, dont alienate anyone from Tor.I second the suggestion to use whonix, also of note is QubesOS, as well as Knoppix, perhaps also you might find a virtual machine to fit your threat model. I might start a fork of tails, but nobody wants to trust the new guy. But honestly this might have just pissed me off enough. I'll start rebase at the last point PGP keys were on the site, cherry pick up to master, remove ublock origin, match TBB to stock tor browser exactly by default, with heavy encouragment to set javascript.enabled to false, maybe add toggle to disable WASM, maybe add option to disable SVG, harden the network stack, ship a hardened genkernel. Does /g/ like this idea?
>>107690819GLOW
>>107690819>I'll start rebase at the last point PGP keys were on the sitewhat do you mean? what do they use if not PGP? SSH keys?
>>107690665>but never explain how or why.>>107690686Basically, that.Never lose sight of the fact it started as a US Navy SigInt project to provision plausible deniability. Giving someone else that sort of weapon isn't the sort of thing navies tend to like doing.Companies like Akamai Technologies operate a large percentage of the high speed nodes, giving them a unique insight complimented by a global sniffer network attached to backbones everywhere but north korea, and now china. Those telecoms backdoors being used for/by 'SaltTyphoon'? They're intended for Akamai.>>107691115>SSH keys?By which you mean x.509? PKCS-11?
>Secure by default>Doesn't even have Librewolf, Icecat, or other privacy-focused web browsers in its repoWhat's the point then?
>>107690297it's not even secure
>>107690297People like to larp that they like/use it because its so minimal and the repos are anorexic. Its a psychological coping mechanism for an unfulfilling life that they feel that they can't control when you have so many moving parts in your life and society and can't control any of them its comforting to have a piece of software that by nature does exactly what you tell it to and is minimal and bare bones.

Why is AI so hated?
>>107691072It makes people stupid. When I learned about programming and Linux I had to search real hard and real the manuals to solve some problems. This lead to me actually learning and understanding the tools I am using.Nowadays meaning just the last years people just asks the chat ai to do what they want to do. When asked what they just did they dont know. When someone is stuck on a problem now. I think it is genuinely hard not to get tempted to use the chat ai to solve the problem instead of reading the manual and solving it by yourself. When the problem is solved, few people try to understand what the chat ai did to solve it.
