How good Is video compression on a completely black video feed? Like would the size of very long video with no actual video information approach the size of a png at the same resolution?
>>
yt-dlp it and let us know
>>
>>107829042
x264 encodes a black 1080p30 video at about 8kbps
>>
>>107829042
Why ask a question when you can spend 5 minutes and actually test it with different codecs?
>>
All video codecs have more in common with JPEG than PNG. They use frequency tables. Therefore they always struggle with flat colors because they literally can't do them perfectly and even doing them approximately maxes out the filesize especially on AVC which does not have vairable-sized let alone content-aware blocks.
>>
>>107829407
isn't a flat color a low-frequency information? The boundaries between them aren't but that shouldn't matter when literally the whole frame is 1 color.

What are some use cases for using virtual box aside from sampling Linux distros? I was setting up a Linux Mint VM on my dad's Windows PC because he's a tech luddite and always bitching about his computer not working. Irritatingly enough, whenever I do decide to help him he starts spitballing solutions telling me to type wifi when I'm trying to figure out how to set up a connection within a VM.

Aside, from that, it dawned on me that I don't really know how this stuff works. What else is worth learning about Virtual box?
>>
>>107830092
I'm thinking about setting up a freeBSD VM btw.

You don't need to care. The people who think 720p 30FPS is just as good as 2160p 120FPS don't need to care either. You do you. On the other hand however, what you should also do is stop screeching on the internet about how all the many sources of information and the many people who say that OLEDs do in fact burn in are ackshually false and OLED totally doesn't burn in ever for realsies even after 981723 years of static content.

Yeah, you've got the wrong anon. I have an OLED monitor (42" LG C2) with 18k hours on it and all the burn-in preventions disabled (though I use it as a secondary monitor and have my own homebrewed window auto-dimming scripts to use with it) and don't have any noticeable burn in looking at single-color test screens, but I'm not someone who thinks it won't happen eventually. OLED has pros and cons like any technology, and until something else comes along that's able to reproduce high contrast scenes with perfect blacks and no blooming with good viewing angles, there's simply nothing better for viewing content.

you're the retarded normie. most of the illegal content shared on facebook is shared by pajeets and othershit skins. They give zero fucks if the fbi knows their location (mumabdidi shitting street, india) which is why they keep making new face book accounts to share it. Letting third worlders onto the internet has basically undone ALL gains in combating illegal content in the past 30 years.

Would you live inside Wine Desktop? Would it be insane to turn Wine into a DE for Linux like Windows 3.1 originally was for DOS? I would use the shit out of this.

Most software still doesn't work on wine though
>>
Let's be real, wine is just glorified emulator for windows games, it's dogshit for programs, it still struggles to run chromimum and webkit libraries
>>
>>107830130
it's more like a hardcore wrapper / translator then emulator
>>
>>107830136
it's more like calling FreeDOS a "DOS Emulator" it's just a re-implementation of Windows libraries, instead of wiring up the Windows functions in the trampoline it calls the Wine functions instead

two issues:
1. they still have the bose sound profile
2. i don't need a smart speaker
>>
what does soundtouch do?
>>
>>107828991
It gently massage audio until it hits a crescendo and explodes all over your ear holes.
>>
>>107827471
Why would you buy a speaker that needs anything internet related? I'll accept Bluetooth speakers, I wouldn't use them for hifi but they're definitely convenient for music while you work on something. But those don't depend on any connection other than a local one to whatever source you pair them to.
>>
>>107828991

It is Bose’s proprietary 2010s wireless solution for its products at the time. Hopefully someone recreates the Soundtouch app so I can continue to configure my remote to access streaming services.

Hey what's the best way to deal with a scammer who took over someone's discord account?

Long story short I had a really close friend on discord only (rookie mistake but I didn't want to push then for anything personal =3)

And some scammers took over the account and are demanding 200 dollars . . . They first tried to scam me by pretending to be her to get me to give them money but it was obviously not the person so now their trying to scam me to maybe get info on contacting my friend :(

It makes me really sad and I was wondering if any of you fine folk might know what to do . . . Im not sure what the proper way to figure this out is frens. . .

>And I doubt they actually have the info; I feel like their just lying to try and scam more money as they tried a scam earlier

Any nice hacker folks who hate scammers about and might know a trick or two that could be pulled =3

This person was really a special person and I'd genuienly be a much sadder person if I never got to talk to them again.

Like I reported them to discord and nothing happened so idk what to do frens . . .

My honest guess is their phone got stolen . . . They were going to London and a bit on the nieve nicer innocent side of things

Just a really nice person =3
>>
>>107829566
>>107829779

Nope that's something I know; definitely not the same person and tried to use a script but forgot to take out the [insert] things in it and when I called it out basically just demanded money
>>
If the account was stolen, contact Discord support. Seems like the logical thing to do.

That being said, if you were such close friends, then this friend of yours can just make another account and contact you, no? Seems like a non-issue.
>>
>>107830073

That's the problem I've not found them again :( and i don't have another means of contacting them and idk if they would know my account to add it again.

But thanks for your recommendations and I'll report it to discord support.

East-Asians are already closer to the digital world than anyone else in the West due to living in a hivemind for centuries. They took over the West as the ones who mutated towards the future. At long as China and the rest of East-Asia keep Indians and jews out, they will take over the globe.
