I was wondering can you dual boot 2 windows verisons
Windows 11 is actually alright for my needs. I only wanted tabbed explorer windows and they're finally here.
usecase? if you want to test your software you just run a vm
>>107889590Yes, but you have to remove the boot flag on your windows boot partition first, otherwise the next windows you will install, will overwrite you existing bootloader. You can do that with Gparted, it's literally a checkbox that says bootable or efi. After you installed your 2nd windows, you can set the efi / boot checkbox again.>retard proof methodGet a 2nd drive, unplug your first drive with windows on it, plug in your 2nd drive, install windows. Done. Now plug both of the drives and you can change the boot order in bios, or depending on your mobo, you can open the boot manager menu with a keyboard shortcut, while booting.
>>107891937Pretty sure that's not needed with EFI anymore.
It was useful in transition eras where the driver subsystem was completely changed and a lot of old hardware didn't work, like dual booting 9x/XP or XP/7 but there is no such use case now>>107891947>EFIYikes
When large investors aren't interested in AI companies, where will the money come from?
>>107889828The money comes from corporate loans. Banks, private equity or whatever institutions are willing to lend. Or it comes out of their own pockets.>>107891315Microsoft doesn’t have enough money for this, that’s the entire point.Microsoft says their GPUs are going to last 6 years instead of 3. That instantly (on paper) nets them tens of billions in projected profitability. If the GPUs don’t appreciate that way then they are not as profitable as they told lenders. And their corporate loans to buy all stuff this are justified using that same financial engineering. Their ‘deep pockets’ are an accounting mirage. The worst part is Nvidia can actually save them by sandbagging their products so that GPUs don’t advance in 3 years or less. And i think they will. If they do stop advancing GPUs for 6 years then appreciation will stay high and the goofy AI balance sheets like MS’s will be justified.
>>107891607i think at this point it doesnt matter what AGI is or when it will be reached. its more like convenient hype that lets investors consolidate their money into something they believe other people will consolidate their money into as well. basically like the same principle as a crypto scheme>this will go up so i will put my money in it>people put their money into this so it went uprepeat until something rocks the boat too much and people pull their money out. but i doubt it will come from any kind of rational revelation like "none of this is making money, i'm pulling my money out" or "AGI is a science fiction, i'm pulling my money out" but rather some economic system shock happens like aging retirees pull their money out of the S&P500 to pay for healthcare en masse, or some auto loan or real estate loan bubble pops, USD loses reserve currency status, bond market collapses or an even greater source of hype appears somehowat this point everyone is just picking up pennies in front of a steam roller until the economy massively overheats due to compounding deficit spending and then something really retarded happens
>>107891752>for 6 years then appreciation will stay highThe biggest problem with any type of hardware is shit dies. From a hyperscaler DC perspective in order to keep a cluster healthy enough there must be a regular decom of hardware to have enough spares to keep the rest of the fleet healthy. That's why the "lifetime" of any given size fleet of hardware is 3 years. After that you won't be able to RMA or even order spares. You must downsize.6 years is bogus. Machines could last that long but a good number will not.
>>107891752>The worst part is Nvidia can actually save them by sandbagging their products so that GPUs don’t advance in 3 years or lessrisky tho, 3 years is a long time, and alternative GPUs just need to get competitive enough for nvidia to throw microsoft under the bus to save their own skin

help me perform RAM memory overclocking because the niggers from /v/ chased me away because I went there because it’s dead here, the prodigal son has returnedI have an ASRock B650 LiveMixer, two sets of G.Skill Flare X5, DDR5, 32 GB, 6000 MHz, CL30, that is 4 sticks of 16 GB, and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D.Currently I have 3600 MHz CL40.On the ATX ASUS PRIME X670-P motherboard there was a ready preset that worked on all sticks at 6000 MHz CL30, so it is possible.well, I pasted this to them and that was enough, in English of course; I’ll add that I experimented with ready-made 6000 MHz factory presets from ASRock, but the computer doesn’t boot, I have to remove the battery to reset the BIOS.
>>107889706What settings are stable depends on a lot of things, including the motherboard. Just because 6000 MHz worked on an Asus board doesn't mean you can get it to work on an Asrock board (or, for that matter, a different Asus board or even the very same Asus board with a different UEFI version). There are actual physical differences that affect the transmission of signals between CPU and RAM, and also differences in UEFI. G.Skill has a QVL for their 4x 64 GB kit, notice how there's not even a single Asrock board on it: https://www.gskill.com/qvl/165/396/1750237944/F5-6000J3644D64GX4-FX5-QVL. Granted, that's 4x DR, so even more difficult than your (presumably) 4x SR, but it's also a matched kit, unlike what you have.Ultimately OC is just trial and error. Optimizing all possible memory settings will take weeks, nobody here is going to hold your hand through that process. If you need a starting point, go watch some of Buildzoid's videos or something. Even then, there's absolutely no guarantee that you can make 6000 MHz stable with your setup. And whatever optimized settings you'd end up with after weeks of tweaking will barely be faster than just loading the EXPO profile and lowering frequency, so it's not worth the effort unless you're autistic and enjoy the process for it's own sake (you clearly aren't, or you wouldn't ask people to spoonfeed you). And again, you can probably sell your 4x 16 GB and buy 2x 32 GB with minimal losses, which would be much better for memory speed. Generally you should only ever run 4 sticks when you need more memory capacity than what's possible with 2 sticks (currently 128 GB with DDR5 UDIMM).
>>107890804i guess only niggers and women can enjoy more than 16GiB at 6000MT/s DDR5
>>107891256certified brownoid checking in
>>107891207All it takes is one white person who has a similar setup with four RAM sticks, or who knows RAM overclocking.I’m checking right now whether such a person exists here
>>107891510We told you already... enable EXPO, lower frequency until it works. Why are you even using 64GB instead of 32GB ?games don't even use 32GB to begin with.At least you'd be able to boot at 5600mhz with two 16GB sticks in dual channel (maybe eveen 6000mhz).I play Star citizen sometimes and it's the hungriest game by FAR but it only used around 29GB in extreme niche circumstances.
Something about them seems to good to be true to me, but maybe i'm too schizo

It's good for a free service. A bit weird with the sorting options, with notes and passwords mixed in but cannot complain. Still doesn't solve much. Still one password to attack and password managers do not have two factor auth so probs better and easier than targeting single accounts. Plus 5 eyes has videos of us all masturbating and thats worse than our passwords being leaked.
