Why are the chinese so bad at technology? Why does the world try to make China seem like a tech powerhouse? They're still basically India/Africa level, completely unable to innovate or to develop advanced technology.

a music player / management library similar to mpd but that could pull a song from multiple source.

so i'd have my playlist as usual, but i could change the source of any song to a better one at anytime without changing the playlist and keeping metadata about where it was obtained from.

ie, i could sync my whole youtube and spotify music playlist, then automaticaly replace the source for the title i already have in flac in my manualy downloaded library.

but i could still see where the original source of the music is (ie it was from my youtube playlist) but see that the new source is a higher quality flac.

godot wasn't enough for me because of the performance of gdscript, and I'm not learning c#. If i'm going to have to write c, might as well do it without the bloat
>>
>>107634916
C is ass for gamedev though. all it would need to be perfect is operator overloading
>>
>>107634966
Ok yeah if you dont wanna use an engine you should watch some handmade hero. I wouldnt use C++, it's way way more bloated than C, but you do you.
fwiw I use Jai and I would recommend that for gamedev over anything else, plus it works with raylib, but it's not out yet, so you gotta use another language or hunt down a leak of the compiler somewhere. You could also use Odin which is basically Jai lite edition
>>
>>107634115
You might not need to know any C at all, I think you can make fully fledged games for Minetest with lua
>>
>>107634115
C++ + Raylib would be fine. Or Rust + Bevy/Vulkano, but that might turn out somewhat more challenging.

What was the point of all those low power netbooks and tablet computers in the 2010's if the internet became so bloated that the CPU would struggle to load your average retailer website just a few years later? They clearly belong in 2005, not 2015 or 2025.

Why did America outsourced parts of its tech industry?
35 replies and 4 images omitted. Click here to view.
>>
I don't buy into the initial premise that there's a lack of skilled labor. That just sounds like a very convenient justification to look elsewhere for something cheaper. Saying the labor you're getting from elsewhere is culturally superior sounds like just pitting labor against itself, get the qualified people who were rejected here mad at their replacements and not the companies replacing them. This is all textbook wagie manipulation.
>>
>>107628323
capitalists outsource labor because it is cheaper elsewhere. how is that so difficult to say? do they really need multiple paragraphs for that?

Reminder that this jeet is unironically the king of scammers. He made his wealth by creating fake medical company, listing his family members as the only employees and then once he funnelled all of the investment money into his pocket he declared bankruptcy with 0 products being developed. This fuck is worse then Elisabeth Holmes but got away with it presumably because our standards for fraud have gone out of the window. I have not checked recently but I bet not a single member of his family even has any degree in any health-related field:
>>
>>107634120
because jeets have izzat culture and can never admit that they were literally grown by the west for the purpose of replacing western workers. Indians arent just 'lol cheaper', they were born and bred from scratch to replace western workers. They are hired because of their race, they exist because the western elites didnt like the idea of letting lower and middle class whites share in their prosparity, so they created a new underclass and they did it by forcibly dragging indians into the tech industry. They have to pretend that they are just innately superior, some how did it on their own, and that they are just better than you so try harder ;)

heres a good example of this behavior

Original article: https://news.microsoft.com/source/1997/03/04/bill-gates-outlines-microsofts-educational-initiatives-for-india/

deleted and rewritten by a jeet: https://news.microsoft.com/source/1997/03/04/bill-gates-technology-investments-will-make-india-an-economic-and-software-superpower/

then rewritten again because the jeet didnt like some of the original details that they missed the first time:

https://news.microsoft.com/source/1997/03/03/bill-gates-technology-investments-will-make-india-an-economic-and-software-superpower-2
>>
>>107628323
that's a bunch of excuses and misdirection. dude has how much money? if he has a real problem with the culture of the country he calls home he should try to fix things and not actively make them worse. fact: i knew a bunch of white kids who also barely got to watch any TV and were under high pressure to make good grades. it's not limited to immigrants. i also knew immigrant kids who had shitty parents. vivek can posture on twitter all he wants, but the fact is that he's a part of the problem. this is like the blame shifting with recycling. blame all the normies in homes and make them sort their garbage, when the main issue is the companies making shit you can't recycle.

If it drains fast then there could be some short, but shitty batteries can die by themselves, too.
The procedure I follow is to remove the battery and test its capacity (using an XTAR Dragon), then replace it if real capacity is low.
If the battery is fine then you'll need to get >90% alcohol and give the board a good wipe.

But now I see a lot of engineers and other tech workers struggling? What the hell. I thought that softwarw engineers were supposed to program AI. Not get replaced by AI?

Nah, we only need overpaid data engineers so we can accelerate the AI expansion and put even more of the planet into debt!
Who needs software? All apps in the future will be a single text box where you input something and the AI gives you the output.

>only bullshit like delivery.
Who are they delivering to though? How are they paying for goods? What job are they doing? Is the economy all just delivery drivers delivering deliveries to other delivery drivers now?

I know debt levels are increasing at unsustainable rates and there are ads for paypal loans for takeaway meals. But there's only so much debt an un/underemployed consumer can take on surely? Feels like we're on the precipice of a total collapse.
>>
>>107634683
>Feels like we're on the precipice of a total collapse.
That is precisely what these articles want you to think. The truth is that while some people are broke, society on the whole is not teetering on the brink.
Retards have historically always been horrible with their money. I had a lot of exposure growing up through my extended family ("I only have two dollars and it's gotta last us til I get paid on Friday" -> buys a carton of cigarettes every week alongside two 30 racks of bud lite) but these bums always persist on EBT and other shit. Laziness and hedonism pretty much ensures that delivery will survive forever, so many people would rather spend $12 in delivery fees than get in their shitbox car and drive for ten minutes.

As somebody who's lived in real poverty (years of my childhood without running water, gas, or electric - cooking on wood burning stove), I can always tell when I'm looking at performative poverty.

Just like if you grew up in the ghetto you can spot a tourist a mile away.
>>

>Feels like we're on the precipice of a total collapse.
This is absurd. Every 10 years or so the standard of living is ratcheted up substantially. How big of a house you have, what kind of car you have, what kind of bullshit tech you have in your house, what kind of food you can afford to eat regularly.

The simple truth is are standard of living is so high that even the poorest people today live better than any royalty in history. Even the bottom 1% in a western country own iPhones and eat steaks.

Theme: [Accepting suggestions]

>Song submission rules/guidelines
Upload the file somewhere, preferably in a lossless format, and post the link here. If you want to update your track, make a new post.
Include the song title in the post, and make it clear that your song is a submission for the album.
Optionally you may include cover art for your track, but please confirm that the image in your post is the cover art or it won't be included. You may not use your real artist name.
Songs that contain anything against YouTube's policies won't be uploaded on YT, but will still be added to the album.
By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your track.
Use of AI is banned. This includes AI generated stems, samples, and effects. "AI" includes all neural network-based models and not hard-coded automation/procedural generation. You are allowed to ask an LLM about music-related questions, but asking it to give you musical ideas (eg. generating a chord progression) is already a no-no.
