I'm relatively new to coding and I just ask ChatGPT for help constantly. For some of the shit I'm doing I have no idea how I would have found the related solution without the help of ChatGPT.

You in 2015:
>Can I even call myself a programmer?
>I'm relatively new to coding and I just ask Stack Overflow for help constantly. For some of the shit I'm doing I have no idea how I would have found the related solution without the help of Stack Overflow.
The answer in both cases is a resounding "no". You have no right to call yourself a programmer until you've implemented your own compiler at the very least

that's vibe coding
chatgpt helped me make this program so I can easily adjust the max boost frequency (hot laptop)
>>
>>106508763
True true a real programmer is not someone who can program but someone who can significantly impact the world with his skill. Making a compiler or an OS is a start
>>
>>106508742
just install cursor and embrace being a vibe coder if you don't care or learn some friggin skills
>>
>>106508742
Ask chatGPT to teach you how to program instead.
If you can't program on your own, you can't debug on your own, and if you can't debug on your own, you can't see when chatGPT fucked it up (and it will fuck it up).
Right now you're getting the fuck ups that are simple to see, like just shit that don't compile or obviously break the code, but the "barely working code" will accumulate the more you do a bigger project until it's all fucked and you have no way out of it.

How are the T16 Gen4's? Currently using an X250 and it is showing its age so I want to get something modern. No need for gaming or anything, just a work/school laptop
>>
>>106509263
For 512GB or less get a WD SN520. You can get a 2280 version and physically trim it to 42mm if the 2242 ones are too expensive. For 1TB I think KingSpec NE is the only option.

I have no absolutely no creativity. Give me project ideas.
>>
>>106509838
Create a kind of super clipboard that runs in browser where you can drop selected webpage content, rearrange stuff, resize pictures, add external images, text etc, and everything, that outputs a clean static html webpage that can be saved locally.

I tried something like that using Gwen AI and it works 90%.

It's super useful to create informative static webpages, and to put together ideas.
>>
>>106509838
My idea for a project is... come up with 10 ideas for projects that you can do. You're lacking in creativity, so start working on it.
>>
When you lack the ability to come up with ideas, the best thing to do is simply copy existing projects. Copy and copy and eventually start remixing or combining ideas.

Its just y2k revival in general. Lots of popular music has aesthetic and sonic roots in y2k music. Most of them can’t nail the y2k sound and it just ends up sounding like 80s music.

Pros:
>Strong sandboxing/isolation improves security.
>Widely supported across major distros (especially Fedora, GNOME-based distros).
>Uses Portals apps can request access to files, devices, etc. in a controlled way.
>Good integration with desktop environments.
>Flathub is a central, well-maintained app store with lots of apps.
>Auto-updates supported.

Cons:
>Flatseal has the potential to change the permissions of other flatpaks at will. Essentially, a flatpak with the ability to change the permissions of other flatpaks. It is rendered to be "Potentially Unsafe" with "Arbitrary Permissions" with access to "User Data" subfolder flatpak/overrides, Can read and write all data in the directory" and "Arbitrary Permissions, Can acquire arbitrary permissions".
>Larger disk space usage (apps bundle runtimes + libraries).
>Slower startup compared to native apps (sandbox overhead).
>Strong desktop focus not ideal for CLI/server software.
>Relies heavily on Flathub (centralization concern).

Why are you pretending like this is some big secret? Flathub literally shows you a list of warnings per app.
Most people don't care about security, they just prefer flatpaks over the packages provided by their distro maintainers.

>GRsecurity isn't violating the GPL though. Nothing about the GPL requires you to give patches to anyone and everyone. They only require that you produce the source to anyone whom you yourself distribute the software to (and require them to do the same).

Yes they are.
Article 2 section 6 of the GPLv2 states that the distributor of a derivative work may not impose any furthur restrictions on the redistribution of the affected work.

Grsecurity adds a restriction: that if a person redistributes the derivative work: they lose money.

A court would understand what the GPL is about, and that GRsecurity is violating it.

>but at the same time they're not allowed to re-write the GPL
You're an idiot: and I'll kill you if I meet you:
The GPL is not protecting "itself" from being "rewritten" in Article 2 section 6.

It is govorning the relationship between the derivative-work distributor, and the distributee:
