i've seen several articles lately about people trying to add closures to C. i don't get it. why do fp tards try to pollute every other language?
>>
I like functional programming in C++. It's easy to write, easy to reason about, and is harder to write bugs with.
>>
>>107589332
it's so fucking stupid, functional programming is just when the verb goes first and OOP is just when the noun goes first
>>
>>107591929
it's useful to parametrize a piece of code not only with data, but also with code. that code might need to bring context with it
>>
>>107593787
I just hate how tagged on it feels. Then again thats pretty much the whole language.

You're going to keep waiting. Forever.
Being inflammatory usually makes people want to interact with you less, not more.
Ask Anon again after you've had a nap and calmed down.

i sure will lol, because you have no intention of actually demonstrating your claim and everyone knows it

>Split problem into tiny bite size pieces

Now you have regular save points through out your development cycle. Why wouldn't I want that?
Also easily push to offsite repo for backup.

alright, which of you fuckers are taking out a third mortgage to buy a 5090? I'm still on a 2080, and I'm not paying $2000 for a 50% upgrade

>>
>>107593749
3090, replace 1GB modules with 2GB GDDR6X modules, flash the vbios, and you now have 16GB more vram than a 5090. That’s what China’s been doing for a while and how they kept up in generative products despite the Blackwell ban

That isn't true. Voodoo cards are museum pieces. Wrappers/emulation of GLIDE has been perfected years ago. Even a crappy iGPU on your CPU can outperform the Voodoo 5 at GLIDE stuff.

>>
>>107592470
>is it actually possible to see the difference?
Yes. Even if we only look at upscaling, VLC uses bicubic by default iirc and mpv uses lanczos and the difference is obvious. VLC is meant to be simple and fast, mpv is meant to be high-quality and highly configurable. Both have a lot of features.
>>
>>107592850
I did checks

mplayer
mpv
smplayer
vlc

VLC uses the most doorknock
>>

the UI is still bad
and using mpv without the command line feels wrong, but with the command line it takes too long to launch

mpv is the coomer's player of choice. got a huge collection you wanna zip through? bind next & previous to your mouse wheel and there you go. Seriously tho, the only thing vlc has going for it are the better on screen controls, mpv is better in every other way. And even the controls aren't an issue if you take 2 minutes to edit your input.conf
