Which earbuds are the least bad?

I have heard people praise Sony's WF-1000XM series but apparently the new XM6 are not great, and also they look fucking retarded with how huge they are.
I am also hearing increasingly positive comments about the AirPods Pro, but I am sketpical of the judgement of anyone who has purchased an iPhone, so I wanted to double check.
Galaxy Buds Pro also seem to have improved but they have a reputation for hardware issues.

WF-1000XM4 owner here, you're really just paying for the brand+ANC with flagship Sony TWS buds and they honestly don't even sound that good.

Out of the box tuning is a bit dark and muddy for my liking and music sounds noticeably better with ANC on instead of off for some reason. They sound fine enough after an EQ but they do this weird auto EQ thing where they'll adjust the frequency response when you try turning the volume up to a certain level to protect your hearing or some shit. Of course they don't mention this and you can't turn it off so the volume's artificially capped. My $60 Soundpeats Capsule 3 Pro+ runs fucking laps around these $200 (I paid $80-$90 used) Sony's if we're talking pure sound quality, but then again the companion app barely works, ANC is nowhere near as good, controls are kind of ass, battery is shit and they look a little tacky.

I don't wear earbuds because they remind me of those pink camgirl sex toys that have an antenna that sticks out of them and connects to their cam site and makes the girl do a cheesy fake moan whenever someone pays them money. so whenever I see someone with apple airpods sticking out of their ears that's what I see and think about and it's really stupid looking.

I'm managing a project involving among others, 1 real programmer, and 1 vibe coding bullshitter. It's pretty funny to see them antagonize each other.

Also it makes me sad I am not a real programmer, but you gotta stick to what you know in some cases, that's what I tell myself

I'm a "real" programmer and haven't written a single line of code since I started "vibecoding" out of desperation to meet a deadline
now I only vibecode and I couldn't give less of a shit because I'm getting paid the same amount for less work and less stress, shit just works so why should I care? to impress some faggots that I wrote it by hand rather let AI shit it out in 2 minutes?
it does help if you know how things actually work rather than letting AI have free reign though

Google AI Mode is really bloody helpful. Not just for tech but every life problem or just general question I've thrown at it. I memed on AI but fuck, I got drawn into using it about 6 months ago and now it's indispensable. I can't imagine going back to my old way of researching things, opening 10-20 different websites and reading them all and trying to consolidate all the data, ironing out any contradictions in my own head. Hard work and extremely time consuming.

And this is just the cheapo free 'AI Mode' from Google. I haven't even paid for Gemini yet. Nor any other 'chatbot' like ChatGPT, Grok, Claude or any of the other ones I hear about.

Can confirm. Ran an @explore command on my vibecoded codebase and it gave a short, concise bullet-pointed explanation of it. Kimi-k2.5's explanations were usually paragraphs worth of text for the same task and responded in a comparable amount of time. Now to test its actual performance.

So let me get this straight, they finally made an AI that is "too powerful for the general public" so a handful of megacorporations are keeping it for their own private use, and its focus is on finding cybersecurity vulnerabilities? OK, that seems fine.

Hope you all enjoyed having fun with LLMs, but they are keeping the God's machine to themselves.

dario's been asked about this a few times t bh his answer makes sense
he's a former medical guy and very interested in things like drug discovery
and they just spent $400m on a drug discovery ai lab
but he never plans to actually produce any drugs himself
the business model for these companies is going to be about invention and discovery and then licensing deals to actual companies that do the final approval / manufacturing
they'll basically own all the important important ip going forward

(You) are part of the problem whether you're aware of what you're doing or you're just a useful idiot. especially after /pol/ was perceived as being influential in helping trump win the 2016 election "the elites" want the discussion to be dumbed down and toxic so that anyone with a brain will leave and go do useful things for their own hobbies/careers instead of banding together and exerting influence that go against the interest of "the elites". employers and teachers who deal with gen Z and gen alpha are all too familiar with how stupid and ignorant people are getting which is what "the elites" want. /g/ used to be for people who are genuinely interested in working with technology before it got flooded with /v/ kids and vibe coders and whatever this /mu/ shit is supposed to be.

>By default, tracks will be normalised to -14 LUFS (integrated loudness) in the release. You may specify a lower loudness for your song. Light-touch mastering is sometimes applied to improve the consistency between tracks.

I don't know what the fuck any of that means. I sent a couple of songs for a previous album, why were they so quiet? I spent enough stressing over meters and the levels and there was no fucking clipping or anything. That's the thing. You need the anti-cheat to be using immutable hardware, similar to the TPM, for it to be effective. Then it can be open source and not bypssable.

Real solution is to move everything to a user mode driver platform, then heavily restrict all things in the ACPI table which expose direct memory access. It will take a long time
