Stick this into shell
dmesg | grep -i firmware
and see if there's anything interesting. You can see the entire story with simply "dmesg" or you can search something else than "firmware".
Here's an Intel Wi-Fi-Bluetooth combo device loading its firmware blobs for example.

If you are simply missing those, it's an easy fix. If you are missing the actual drivers - or modules in Linux talk - you are out of luck.
