Is $450 too much for t14 g1 r5 16gb?

t14 g1 16gb (upgradable up to 32gb) AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650U us international
There are plenty of cheaper ones but most of them have either nordic qwerty keyboard or soldered 8gb of ram instead of 16 (so the max is only 24 which i feel is not a good futureproof)
I could get intel i5 with 16gb (up to 48) in similar condition for 365$ but intel version has soldered wifi card slower processor and worse igpu. In this price range i could get alternatively r5 8gb and keyboard with english stickers

I bought a thinkpad E15 with ryzen 5 5600u (non pro version) for 370€ ( shipping included) it has 16 gb of ram but i plan to upgrade to 40.
Good price or I'm stupid?

I bought a (apparently lenovo) battery for my x230 off of aliexpress. The battery accepts charge, but doesn't discaharge, which is fucking scary. Seller has already refunded so i don't care about the battery. Does any anon here have the slightest idea what might be causing this problem?
X230 is corebooted, so there's no battery whitelist.

i'm just a tech illiterate with a W530. after installing windows 10 a few days ago, the colors were way terrible compared to windows 7. i googled "calibrate W530", and the first result was this:
https://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=132354
which recommended "DisplayCal". but on installing it, it returns the error
dispread: Error - new_disprd failed with 'Instrument Access Failed'

i couldn't find anyone on the forums whose logs simply returned that error with literally no further context. as a shot in the dark, i searched "new_disprd" on the /g/ archives and found this post from april of last year:
https://desuarchive.org/g/thread/92734609/#92738751

dude coincidentally ALSO has a W530. shit makes me just give up on this, even though i was originally first put onto "DisplayCal" by a W530 user. what the fuck, man. i guess to phrase this as a question, is there a way to fix the colors on this shit that "just werks"? a lot of things seems to recommend physical devices, which i do not have, and i'm not sure there any settings such as a standalone monitor would have for me to do anything manually

is it worth buying a t430 with the following specs for 80 euros?
i5-3320M, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 900p
im from the eu obviously and im trying to understand if it's an ok price or not. i will be upgrading everything (cpu, heatsink, ram, drives and other mods).
all i could find on ebay was a german listing that sells one for 70 euros without a hdd and 0 photos of the product.

i need recommendations for panels for x220 and 220i. I bought a couple of x220is and I want to put IPS panels in them, they're pretty mint so they'll be very nice to use with nicer displays. They seem fairly easy to get ahold of, but anecdotal recommendations would be appreciated

I just tried to Buy a Lenovo ThinkPad X220 with 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD that included the Charger for $100 but then somebody outbidded me for $126...what now bros? Is $149 good, I can also just wait for another Auction. If not there is also a T420, there is a T420i for $119.
>>
>>101771431

>>
>>101771794
They are all in the $200-Range unfortunately from what I've seen, and I'm broke right now.
I just got an Offer for $109 for a ThinkPad T420i, what is the difference between that and a T420? The T420 is $129.
>T420i Specs
320 HDD
6GB RAM
Intel Core i3-2350M @ 2.30GHz
AC Power Adapter and Battery are included
>>
>>101772747
i think t420i is just t420 with i3 cpu
which you can upgrade later on since old t series has socketed cpu

its ok, depends what you are gonna use it for
>>
>>101764369
I'd say it's just fine. In EU, usually it's difficult to find great deals compared to the US. A new one with 8+256 still costs around 600-700 euros.
I would say one option is to look at auction websites if you're in EU, because for some godforsaken reason the businesses here like to create e-waste instead of selling off machines when their employees upgrade - so this is the only way is to buy office machines coming from places that are going bankrupt or something.
>>

Ah I see, and I just want a ThinkPad for Work/Studying so I am not going to be Installing anything Proprietary onto it also I probably will be LibreBooting it but I've never owned a ThinkPad before so probably won't since I've heard a rumor you can brick it that way...And overall, I just want a ThinkPad with no Intel ME, I don't plan on doing anything heavy on it and at most for RAM I need 4GB but prefer 8GB.

My ThinkPad has no odor. If yours does, then maybe that reflects your own poor personal hygiene choices.
>>
>>101767209
Nope, there's definitely good contact. The machine recognises the battery, charges it, and can read data from it. The battery just won't discharge.
>>
>>101774841
So are you saying if you unplug the AC cable, the computer shuts off, despite the battery being full?
>>
I already had experience with replacing x220 and t440p keyboards, so today during lunch break I tried to replace my x270 keyboard.

I think I need a new thinkpad. Few questions bros:

Do the X1 Carbons still throttle and have shit battery? I have a Gen 7 and it has the most pathetic heatsink.

I'm looking at P14S because IIRC they have good thermals and I don't care much about thinness. I understand the Gen 5 Intels have non-soldered RAM. Do they have any other advantages over the AMDs? Maybe a bigger battery?

I know it might be delusional, but how plausible would be getting a t440p motherboard into an x220 chasis? I'think its possible but i haven't found someone who has done it, i know the x230 is the safer option, but considering prices, it just might be better.

How difficult is it too replace a ThinkPad LCD? For $70 I can get a ThinkPad X220 with an i7-2640M/4GB of RAM and a 480GB SSD, everything else is in good condition except for the Screen that is cracked on the top left but assuming how durable they are its probably not a problem. Thoughts? Also correct me if I'm wrong but I can just upgrade the RAM later on right?

Just bought a refurbished T480 for $300 USD (I'm a nordic btw).

i5-8350u | 8GB | 240GB | IPS 1920x1080 | T1A Grade (The product will show minor signs of use, such as small scratches and marks on the device and screen. Marks on the screen will not be visible when it is on. 70% of the original battery capacity in mAh.)

It will be a backup for my desktop while I'm at uni. Hopefully it will be decent enough for programming and light ML in classes.

Just got a replacement x220 keyboard for my x230. I had one before, but it died and I went back to my stock x230 keyboard. Now I have to do the rigamarole of bios/EC flashing again. Custom back to stock, flash EC, back to custom.

While I have it apart I guess I'm going to try and epoxy the chassis back together; it's broken on the right side where the usb2 port is. Any better ideas for chassis repair?

I have a big problem with a L15 gen1 from 2020. I put it to sleep for the night but in the next morning it doesn't wake up. I disable the waking up with the moving the mouse and my external keyboard, but it used to wake up when I pressed the power button on the laptop.

Now nothing happens, I press and press and all it does is powering off as press long enough.

I did a clean install of w10 22h2 and 21h2. All the BIOS is set on default settings.

The weird part is that the laptop resumes from sleep if the sleep is over a few minutes, but overnight it never wakes up.
