It's hard to say. Functionally it produces functionally equal outputs but is further from the full fp16 than fp8 is. It's great for vramlets to actually get to use flux, but for anyone else there's no speed benefit to it, so it just produces slightly different results.
What it will come down to in the end is if it's trainable, because nothing matters if you can't.

I was full up of junk nodes I never use anymore so probably a conflict.
Try copy your custom nodes folder somewhere else and then delete every other custom node.

NEW AND IMPROVED forge completely boning my flux upscales, why is that? 12 steps img2img with a 0.2 denoise and a decent upscaler should produce something decent but the image is a lot darker and just looks fucked.

I made this complicated prompt with lots of specific details and text to test them out:

They both did just fine and are only a little different aesthetically. They both mess up MIKUSEX and fail to give the apples eyes. I did enjoy the nf4 "MIGUSEX" mistake I have to admit.
Gonna run this on more seeds and post them here. Also for reference, I posted the fp16 image in this post. It's not very different from the others, and in fact it seems to make her face look a bit more mature just like nf4 did.
