What's the socially acceptable debloat win10 script?

I just use https://privacy.sexy

>>101967482
privacy.sexy if you want a customizable script, private-secure-windows if you want changes done via the MS Learn guides on enterprise OS privacy/security. Or you can use something like ShutUp10++ to do the same thing these scripts do but in a GUI fashion.

Disabling IPv6 kills some websites. Everyone's on IPv4, but some data gets sent over IPv6.
Fuck, man, I setup up W7 on an old E6330 I bought for next to nothing just to find out why W7 has so many fans. I've been enjoying it, but the fun may come to an end now. I am genuinely upset, but I can just repurpose the machine for Ubuntu or something. I run W11 and W10 on my machines of actual importance.

>>101934728
You tried "chkdsk c: /f /r"?
You're just going to have to clone it if you can. I once tried gparted to salvage info from a hard drive I got careless about. Damn shit couldn't access ntfs partitions, ntfsprogs has to be installed somehow. gparted might be more complete these days, otherwise, I would look into making myself a modified version for personal ends, but I think it is now pointless since I no longer depend on a single machine, so I will always have a backup machine to help me fix another if trouble happens.
Utilities for fixing another machine's drive and anything else that might come in handy is ultimately light-computing stuff, so old, antiquated machines being sold cheaply online make great backup/troubleshootng tools. At this time, avoid going older than 3rd or 4th gen Intel i5/i7 (about 2013-2014?), machines older than those are not worth it.

>>
is w11 good? im on w10
>>
>>101973102
It's less if it's "good" or not and more that the more modern your parts are the more they'd be expecting 11 more often then not. It has some neat features like native DNS-over-HTTPS system wide, the auto HDR and the DirectStorage API, but otherwise if your PC is kinda old then you can just get away with using IoT LTSC 2021 and stay on 10 for a while more. Though with IoT LTSC 2024's full retail release coming around early/mid October you could go with that and basically get what'll amount to the best 11 experience you can get.

Apologies in advance for posting probably the most asked question, but should I install Windows 10 or Windows 11 (IoT LTSC for both) on a new computer I am building soon.
Specs: 7600X, 7800XT
Use: mainly playing games (mostly pirates, some Steam), web browsing in Firefox, running Arch in VirtualBox.
I can live with some of the UI quirks I've heard of in 11 because I'm mostly going to be in a browser or a game or a VM, but is there something big I've not heard of that I should be aware of?
Also, if I install 11 IoT LTSC 2024 now, am I right in thinking when the official release comes, relevant updates will be installed on my machine without having to reinstall the entire OS?
And are there major driver issues that would make it unusable for my purposes?
>>
1. When will W11 LTSC IoT 24H2 come out?
It says in the ltsc pastebin that in October this year, is this confirmed? And what day?

2. I have 13th intel CPU, what is that "new CPU scheduler" and will I see performance improvements?

>2.
The scheduler is a Winhoes 11 component you won't "see" anywhere. The performance improvement will be in the form of e-cores not being used in place of performance cores and likely e-cores being properly relegated to minor tasks: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/rtx-4090-53-games-core-i9-13900k-e-cores-enabled-vs-disabled/2.html

E-cores are more about efficiency with light computing tasks and saving energy. Laptops are what most benefit.
You could just disable e-cores in UEFI and not ever care about the feature if you are on desktop. You probably won't even notice a difference.

>>101979083
Disable IPv6 in your network adapter settings and block it in Windows Firewall, there's 5 IPv6 things in the protocols selection box when you try to make custom rules. Block 'em all. Most websites will continue to work without them, including 4chinz.

>>101981084
Like Firefox, Chrome, Brave, Supermium, etc.?
Most of /g/ uses them, they have nothing at all do to with system updates. I myself have been using Firefox since Windows Vista. I delete the Edge and EdgeCore folders in Program Files x86 in order to break Edge and Windows Update does nothing about it ever except recently when they added the Copilot button to non-ARM Windows 11 installs. But I deleted that trash again and uninstalled the Copilot button (which is really just an Edge shortcut of sorts) immediately, because fuck Microsoft's bullshit and their retarded bloatware horseshit. I'll open up Copilot in bing in Firefox like always on the rare occasion I need it, that serves my needs perfectly.

abstaining from updates is not in any way intelligent in the slightest, the right thing to do is to procrastinate (meaning you eventually do update) and wait and see what people say or complain about, plus someone or another will come up with a fix or workaround and share that with everyone online, which includes you to your own benefit

Occasionally, MS screws up an update and has to remove it from the catalogue and apply a patch for it or make a new version of the update, so if you procrastinate, you will save yourself troubles while other folks get headaches and try to fix the trouble, procratination can lead to you holding off on an update until the problems get sorted out, I don't know how the corpos and masses don't learn to be more cautious, we've had outages before and Microsoft will not stop occasionally screwing up as the years roll on, and despite this recent Clownstrike debacle, which is nothing new, the masses still don't learn. The dalits at Poople have been screwing up Poople Cloud, as another example, yet we have all these folks on various websites insisting that cloud backups are a good idea. Personal cloud servers, sure, but not Poople. I didn't go into that thread a while ago where the OP complained that the IT sector looks like a joke after the Clownstrike outage, and I can't help but feel the same. Retards, retards everywhere. guud lawd, lads
>>
>>101984508
fresh installs take a while to settle down, even when it says pending it's still doing shit in the background, usually a few restarts or just leaving the pc on for a while let's windows do whatever it needs to do to finish the update properly
>>
>>101985535
I mean, sure they push bloat with the regular updates, but security updates have always been a must for everybody (that's why you use IoT LTSC)

If you believe they still hide fishy stuff under security updates then you shouldn't use Windows at all

Nothing really happens when you re-initiate the store besides now being able to use it. Like it won't automatically just download all the typical first-party bloat that Windows Enterprise/Education would have if you think that's gonna happen.

You'd set the general permission settings in the privacy settings and then also check the program-centric permission settings in the programs list as well that might not follow the general permission settings. It's a bit of a hassle honestly.

Well the latest August monthly update patched it and I don't think 20H2 recieves updates anymore, so you'll probably stay vulnerable to it. I guess just disable IPv6?
