>>
>>101997856
Don't have an exact figure, it's built up over the years.
It's probably less than what someone would build an equivalent system for if they just bought retail.
All storage was basically half off, the 7.7tb NVMe was $450 at a time when an QVO was like $900, it's actually appreciated in value since.
Mobo was $200 as it's Z690, etc

how I spend on things is generally motivated by how much I like something, in some cases what I like is also cheaper but not necessarily because it's cheap.

I expect my 14900k will be fine long term, it runs at 1.4v at 6ghz

It's cheap and small so it doesn't take up half my desk, but yeah, there's very little space on the back for the wires, so you can't really cable manage much.

Maybe I'll get a modular PSU in the future so I can just not plug in the wires cables I don't need. Those are a bit too pricey for me sadly.

nigga what? shadows have different levels of darkness, depending on the angle and where they are situated. the shadows look realistic on the rtx side. unlike you i actually go outside of my house and dont need to base the logic of shadows on what i have seen in other video games. i know it is hard to grasp how things work outside of your moms basement. the amd shadows are quite literally baked in. there are scenes where amd doesnt even generate any shadows.
apparently shadows in picrel arent real and are ai generated i guess, because theyre too dark for what you personally are used to seeing in video games. actually braindead.
>>
>>101998902
You can look up the specs yourself but basically motherboards have inflated a lot of late. What $70 would have gotten you in 2019 is now $100+.
On the other hand, with a few exceptions, the "cheap" marques are now generally good so you don't have to pay $200 for a Strix/Carbon/Aorus/etc. - a Prime/HDV/DS3H is enough for 99% of gaming builds. Of course those are still over $100 so you're not exactly winning either.

bottlenecks are hard to understand, and he doesn't understand.

anon:
think of a game like a hungry fat guy.

He wants meat (cpu). But he also wants beer (gpu). If you fail to have enough beer, he just waits until you bring more beer. But once he has enough beer, if you fail to bring enough meat, he doesn't drink much beer until you bring meat.

Thus, you may have plenty of meat for the fat guy, but not enough beer, this is your case.

I bought a refurbished GPU to replace my old one and while it seems to work fine (everything that is supposed to light up lights up and fans are spinning) when I installed it I couldn't get my monitor to work.
I tried plugging the monitor in to my motherboard's HDMI slot and it still didn't work. This remained true when I removed the card entirely so the only display option would have been the integrated GPU. Monitor runs fine on the old GPU when I switched it back in.

I'm prepared to contact the seller and raise a stink but I wanted to confirm that it's not a problem on my end/with my monitor first. What should I be doing to troubleshoot?

Just performance wise the RTX 4070 is as powerful as the 3090, and the 3070 was as powerful as the most powerful 20 series card. Just going by that we can hope that the 5070 is as powerful as the 4090. 3090 used to cost $2k, and the 4070 $529. So one could hope that the 5070 would be as powerful as the 4090, but that probably wont matter for new games as even the 4090 currently doesn't perform as well as it could and should, being it is THE most powerful consumer/enthusiast grade GPU you can buy.

Better. Now that you have a smaller motherboard you could get a smaller case. But going too small and it actually becomes more expensive.
So my criteria for 'good' cases is that if they come with fans. I don't remember if the H5 came with any.
So remember, 70 for the case and around ~9 per case fan. So if you're going to buy 4 case fans you could just get a 100 case and no fan rather than your case and buy extra fans.

Max supported ram speed is a minefield depending on number of dimms, ranks per dimm, cpu lottery and even bios updates. If you are adding a second kit to the existing one you are adding even more factors as two kits mighth ave the same primary timings but have different secondary (and to say nothing of any difference in voltage needs). My rule of thumb when wanting more RAM. Replace your old kit with bigger kits to keep to keep the speed.
OR
Buy a 2nd kit, the same one and hope it's compatible by lowering the speed of the ram. 90% of the time you will never reach the advertised speeds of the RAM with 4 sticks.

I used to have an office logitec m+kb that then crapped out after a decade of use, and so I bought some "gamer" m+kb on a discount since I couldn't find my original model.

there are dedicated threads for both and what you want depends on your budget, desired application and location. a lot of gamer brands are shit but at least they try to improve their products, unlike the office brands that just shit out the same garbage for decades. i like my cheap razer mouse, just works and never had a reason to switch. for keyboards there are some really good high end korean / japanese brands that are top tier for both typing and gaming. in the west at medium budget keychron seems to be quite popular. low budget you will get shit

Why is RAM getting so gay, bros? DDR3 was sturdy as a truck. You could toss your turned on computer WWE style from one side to the room to the other and it would keep running. You could mix random sticks from different brands and with different capacities, speeds and voltage and they would run perfectly fine. Now with DDR5 it's even worse. Even if every spec is exactly the same, they may not work well together if you don't get them as a bundle. What the fuck went wrong with RAM technology?

As for RAM clearances you can't really know unless you try it.
Check the Lian Li Lancool 3 page. It will tell you the max height of the cooler. Then check your CPU cooler page and see the max height and see if it fits.
This also kinda works for the GPU too if you want to check if it can fit. Just add and extra 15mm or so for the cable sticking out.

>the fuck you need an HDD for
I have to store a lot of stuff. honestly i've nearly maxed out my current 3tb hdd that i have
>I have the same case. I HAD the same PSU. I returned it since it did not fit the case.
Oh, I thought it'd fit, the site usually gives a warning for that.
>>102003294
>A lot of money is wasted on that case
Yeah you're probably right I think I just went for it cause it looked "fancy", thanks for making some tweaks, I'll take a look at those

I guess I have to take a closer look at the PSU then. That one seems like a good case but I'll make sure it'll fit this PSU
>>
Does anyone have a recommendation for a Micro ATX case that is cheap and sturdy. I don't care about a window and I'd honestly prefer one without one. Kinda looking for more of an office computer look than a gaming pc look.

Haven't checked in a while, but does it support Corsair RAM now?

>>102003402
If you care about that data then you would buy 2 more HDDs and clone them. If you don't care about the data then go ahead.
I seriously do not recommend a single HDD if you value whats inside there.
Corsair's Shift PSU just means the cables are at the side. Normal PSU is behind the power switch.

>>102003439
I like the Asus AP201 I'll go with that thank you

Who pays $600 for 12gb vram?

How fast is OLED pixel rot happening or is it older generation issue? I'd like it to last 5 years. Don't mistake it with burn in.
Personally haven't heard of it since early OLED phones.

Yes. I have the same model.
Left one is the normal PSU. Right is the Shift PSU. The Lian Li case, and a lot of cases have the PSU in some kind of enclosure which means it cannot plug in the cables at the side.
You see this a lot with Corsair parts. They make little weird shit that are not standard so you're kind of stuck buying their stuff to make their stuff to work. like their fan hubs, only works with Corsair fans. Their RGB also are only controlled with Corsair software.
Kinda gay which is why I never recommend buying Corsair parts other than their PSU.

So on my 13700K I'm thermal throttling in Cinebench R23, my AIO is mounted fine because I don't throttle doing anything else. I'm on an MSI Z690 PRO A WIFI DDR5 board and I'm running the newest BIOS they just pushed today, the non beta BIOS with 0x129. I've applied an undervolt of -.05V offset to my VID, I didn't apply an offset to my E-cores, should I also? Also, someone mentioned that I should change my AC/DC Loadline if I'm experiencing temp issues. It's currently at the default 1.1 mOhms (A/C and D/C I know they both beed to match), but I don't really understand how it works. I tried dropping that to 1 mOhms and while that fixed my temps it killed my score by almost 2000 points. It's back at default now and I'm scoring around 3000 which is about what I should be getting. Any advice?

I'm upgrading from my old 2014 i7 as well as getting a new case. This should be much faster in every regard correct? I also saw that the Ryzen 5 7600 comes with a cooler so I was just going to use the stock one for a while.

Running just one module will slash performance by about 30%. If you want to cheap out, at least buy another module with the same specs - both speed and size

But why? At least get the MSI Mortar which has ALC 4080. Or if you insist on asrock and dont mind Atx the B650 Steel legend is also great with ALC 4082

You can with a caveat that you need to populate slots in pairs. So first a pair of 16g then 32g or vice versa. Also, you likely won't get full speed across four modules. Ddr5 especially gets ravaged in 4 slot config.

Is the Ryzen 7 7700 really worth it over the Ryzen 5 7600?

Is 1440p worth it bros?
I have been using 1080p on an old LG TV for years now and I'm thinking of getting an actual monitor. Is it better to get a high end 1080p monitor or a mid-low range 1440p monitor?

yes if you are poor, it's worth it
no, if you can afford 4k

8c quality of life is better, I know because I was on 6 cores for 6 years, and isn't difference between 7600 and 7700 like $50?

>Just going by that we can hope that the 5070 is as powerful as the 4090
Unlikely. AMD isn't pushing the envelope in raw perf next gen and nvidia has indicated they want to get thermals under control. The 5090 will still probably be insanely powerful but I expect midrange to be much more modest with the 5070 probably being on par with a 4080S while consuming far less power.
>>
>>102003976
you also get the far superior wraith prism instead of wraith stealth that comes with the 7600
its not too bad a deal but you'd be encroaching on 7800x3d territory as its only $80 more expensive
>>
>>102003976
Here it's 20% more expensive but you get 33% more cores
>>
>>102004033

They are aiming at mid range though, so fingers crossed they pull a polaris 2 for us.

Since only retards replied to you and no one answered this last question. I'm here to give you definitive recommendations with explanations. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/HVqfN6
>CPU
keep in mind seller is not from Amazon warehouse - perhaps get it from another seller
>Cooler
vastly better cooler for barely extra
>Motherboard
don't listen to these retards, I've selected the cheapest ATX board with solid VRMs. mATX boards with good VRMs cost more than this.
>RAM
CL30 RAM for better latency, feel free to pick between the two listed - RGB or non-RGB (£9 extra) - these are the cheapest best RAM available from local distributors, avoid Amazon international.
>Case
case comes with two more fans than the NZXT H5 flow and a fan controller for £10 less

These changes make for a better build and only cost you £30~ more.
Your original PSU was the best value for quality so I left that in, as for Gigabyte PSUs they are notoriously bad. The SSD is also a great shout so I left that as well, happy building.
