After having access to Opus once again thanks to Pebble I have come to a conclusion. Opus is certainly the best model for roleplay compared to all the others I've used, but even Opus can't output good stuff unless everything else is set up properly. Yeah Opus is good, but you also need good bots, you need to use summaries, correctly setup JBs, you need to spice up your own responses a bit rather than doing one line responses over and over, and a bunch of other stuff. The bot thing is actually the one that has surprised me the most, so, most bots you find on Chub are pretty bad, but even those that are good are too lightweight and open-ended for my tastes, now, I think the authors do this on purpose, they don't make the bot too detailed because they want the user to be able to make up whatever scenario they want with that bot rather than railroading them into a specific one, and that's good, but in my experience that leaves a lot to be desired.I think from this point forwards I'll treat cards other people make mostly as starting points, I will grab something I like then edit it to my tastes so that it can do precisely what I want it to do, and also I'll probably start making my own bots too, I'm already starting to write fairly detailnes personas so might as well start doing bots too.

How do we characters to truly stay in character? Opus seems to fall into one out of like a dozen different personality types rather than sticking to the actual character, making rp pretty samey after a while. This is especially noticeable with characters that have very defined personalities, they constantly say and do shit the actual character would never do. Even with proper guidance their speech patterns are just never quite right. I've tried multiple custom jailbreaks but even if I get the character to cannibalize multiple dialogue examples it eventually falls back into a generic personality type.
