>>102402017>Personally would go for 6000MHz CL30 RAM instead. Cheaper too.Correct me if I'm wrong but if CAS latency measures cycles and frequency represents speed then the practical latency of the two ram should be the same, right? i.e.32/6400 = 30/6000So the 6400 is just objectively better for only like £5 more? The SSD input is good advice normally, but I already get pissed off way too regularly at how slow my hard drive is now and I know my current storage needs cap out at just over 2tb. >>102402100Ah ok that makes a lot of sensem thanks.
>>102402084They're practically the same speed. But because its 6400MHz raw speed your CPU has a tougher time reaching those speeds. 64000MHzCL32 could be slightly faster but your average user isn't going to notice. Not only that you need to manually change timings since just enabling OC on those RAM sticks are a crapshoot. Either they work or you have to manually tweak it. Your average user isn't going to do that. But if you want to pay an extra 5 for it, then go ahead. Just know what you're getting into.

>>102402439They use the same tsmc nodes but the architecture is different. E cores and P cores are a scheduling nightmare which incur latency penalties that you don't experience with say a 7800X3D as it's all 8 threads sharing the same core complex.
>>102402470amd then sharted that advantage by placing extra l3 only on 1 chip creating issues when they have 2 chips in the cpu.
My online degree in thermo-fluid dynamics from the online university of American Samoa isn't up to task. The current trendy aquarium cases are interesting enough that I might think about a build with one. Pic slightly related. The question is airflow. Presumably 3 intakes at the back, an AIO on the top as exhaust, another exhaust by the IO shield. Will airflow suffer from all the bends it's going to do inside the case? To me, it looks like air will stagnate under the GPU since it's almost blocked off from airflow.
>>102402484Correct.CPUs are evolving faster than software can keep up with. Even if you get a next gen something cpu it's for no point really if your game breaks above 180fps like Apex.

>>102402541>>102402584Fair enough. Thanks. I've done builds in a 4000D airflow and a 5000D airflow and temps are good. Cooling is my primary performance concern since heat will kill anything else.
>>102402608Contrary to popular belief it's actually pretty hard to kill PC components with just heat. There's a lot of safety measures to stop that from happening.Heat just makes a lot of fans spin up creating more sound.
>>102402608What are you putting in there that'll actually cook itself instead of adjusting clocks based on thermal headroom?
>>102402632>>102402639I had a PC I admittedly neglected, and it was also at a time I smoked. Cooked 2 GPUs and even found some wiring that got so hot the insulation was brittle. Just my philosophy, but a PC with great airflow and lower fan speeds will be less annoying and will last longer. Your mileage may vary.
>>102402734>and will last longerAnecdotal. I bet if you compare a GPU in full load with temps at 50-60C for 10 years, 24/7 it will only slightly last longer than the same GPU running the same load but at 70C.
Should I get the 750W or 850W Asus ROG Loki SFX-L PSU?It's only $20 leafbucks difference but the much lower noise of the 750W version is temptingI'm planning to use it with Core Ultra 7 265K and RTX 5080 so probably a combined 550W power draw just from those two if I max out both components simultaneously

>>102403948Any future graphics card releases from RTG are pointless unless they can get FSR's image quality close to DLSS's. FSR4 is RTG's chance to give their fans what Geforce users have had for four and a half years: better than native TAA image quality at higher performance. Hopefully FSR4 be both released and implemented in a few games to go with the launch of RX 8000, such that it can be scrutinized and be a selling point if it's good. Again, if RTG can't deliver either on image quality or release date, RX 8000 can be considered a flop to all but the most diehard, retarded AMD fanboys in existenceFurthermore, if FSR4 is decent, RTG needs to price its cards at maximum based on RT performance in Unreal Engine 5 hardware accelerated Lumen titles, not by raster performance. Otherwise, again, there's no reason even to consider a Radeon card, considering all the issues like a general lack of support (including FSR, AntiLag2) and a lack of equivalent features (e.g., Broadcast), and generally worse drivers (e.g., problems with game support and crashing and rendering errors in new games).

Well it took 5 fucking hours but i finally finished a 4090 build. By far the hardest PC I've ever built. I had to angle the 4090 in there diagonally for it to fit! Case is a Be Quiet Pure 500DX.GPU fans were making a loud clicking noise. I though a cable got caught. It turns out the 4090 is so fucking heavy that it was sagging and pressing against the metal shroud between the mobo & PSU. I put a little spacer in there to hold it up.The recommended PSU wattage was 1000W, but I should be fine at 850W if I don't OC right?
Techlet here, I'm looking at a prebuild(yeah I know) with these parts at about 2k sgd(~1.5k freedom bucks), not including the monitor which I already have. You will therefore see the Ryzen 7000 series, especially the higher core count variants, reside at TJMax (about 95 degrees Celsius for the Ryzen 7000 series) when running intense multithreaded workloads like Cinebench nt. This behavior is intended and by design.think of it this way: the CPU will keep boosting until it hits a power, current, voltage or temperature limitwith PBO you've removed the power and current limiters which leaves only the voltage and temperature limitersyou are never hitting max voltage in an all core load which means the CPU will keep boosting until it hits the only remaining limit, the temperature limit (89 C)if you want lower temperatures set a more reasonable power limit
>>102407695How is the 7600 that high
I had a PSU go and the overcurrent protection failed so it melted the RGB and 4-pin fan wire coverings. The computer shop and corsair agreed it was manufacturer and not user error and I got money back and it works fine with new PSU, but this now means that the 4 case fans to the hub can only be controlled with the manual bar on the front panel. The sync button no longer works because that requires the 4-pin PWM wire, which is fucked and therefore unplugged. Every other wire is larger and didn't get damaged, and all the other components are working well. I have a 7800 X3D CPU and a 4070 Ti Super GPU. The CPU is showing expected idle temps of 38 degrees celsius when the fan bar is on a quiet setting of 2. For gaming, I just turn the fan bar up to full blast of 5 and then load the game and the temps are fine.My problem is spikes. When I load something high load without knowing it's high load (who knew pycharm could briefly spike your CPU to 75 degrees on start up?), I get these big spikes before I go "Oh shit!" and then press the case fan bar up and it goes back down to a stable 38 degrees. Obviously CPUs throttle themselves when the temps get too high, but am I shortening the life of the CPU by not having motherboard sync for the case fans? For gaming it's easy, because you just put it on full beforehand as you KNOW games have a high load. It's the sneaky poorly optimized programs that are catching me out, as they have big load on start up. Am I fucked? I'm trying to make do given everything else works fine, and the CPU is performing normally during idle and when gaming (though I am somewhat throttled because I'm playing on a 1080p monitor at the moment so the CPU does more work than the GPU, and the GPU is very cool).
