Same link, use Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

I've installed (on my sister's laptop) windows 10 Education and activated it with MAS, back when it was the recommended version before IoT LTSC released.
Now it's deactivated and I'm not sure how, so before I activate it again, is there a way to change to LTSC IoT?
Without re-installing?
>>
>>102761792
No, you need to clean wipe.
Just re-activate the Education install again. It's not like it's bad now or something, it's still the Enterprise offshoot it's always been.

>it's still the Enterprise offshoot it's always been.
Well, it still has the weather plugin and some ads for games in the menu.
I guess I should be activating it again, instead.
What bother me is how much ram it uses compared to LTSC IoT.
Heck even Win 10 pro uses less ram.
>Pro ~2.1 GB
>Edu ~2.8 GB
If I wanted to switch to LTSC IoT, do I need to wipe the whole drive? or I can just "Upgrade" windows to LTSC IoT?
Maybe just wipe the C partition?

I'm guessing this is using the registry to change the edition of Windows to EnterpriseS so you can use an IoT LTSC ISO to in-place upgrade. I mean you can, but it'll end up scuffed with everything still installed from the Pro install.

It removes the watermark by activating it but sometimes it makes the system overheat and blowup. In other times the PC restarts and encrypts your entire storage drive. I've seen cases where it randomly installs crypto miners. Basically it just works, sometimes. You just have to trust your instincts.

The possibilities are endless and other os's need to step up their game. (vm's aren't a replacement, sandbox takes 10 seconds to launch and is always based off your real OS)

Why would it? They would have to run Windows services without user knowledge, which Linux could pick up. VMs are sandboxed by default. Even if it did, it would be flagged by all the Linux activists and Linus would fix that shit, while ranting in the mailing list and Microsoft would take a unneeded PR hit. Just thought of another way to get the bypasses into an ISO directly, via using the tool AnyBurn to edit a Windows ISO via adding the autounattend file inside the $OEM$ folder from a Rufus flashed USB to the sources folder which includes said scripts that add the bypassing DWORDs to the setup's registry. I use this edit method to add ei.cfg to ISOs directly.

What I mean is copying the $OEM$ folder from the Rufus'd USB you've already made and adding it to whatever Windows ISO's sources folder you please using the tool AnyBurn's ISO editing capability (which in turn makes a clone of the ISO with the file you wanted added.)

Eh fuck it, It's a fun thing and probably the best you'll get for ricing Windows 10 anyway. It's already a tower of duct tape. Looks good with my workspace anyway.

Besides, I have a massive problem with tab hoarding so maybe a lack of combining icons isn't such a bad thing. Might as well do OpenShell again as I should have a year sooner.

Write down what the error code is and look it up and see if it has any fixes, download Nirsoft BlueScreenView and look at the dump files to see what file exactly caused the BSOD and look into how you may fix that. You could also put the error code into a site like MagNumDB or use a tool like ErrorLookup.
>>
>>102774165
I tried this.
nothing comes up.
But I can reproduce it 100% of the time, by doing shutdown and then closing the laptop led.
When I start it, I get BSOD

It makes sense when you realise that .2152 finally fixed SFC, which is the first line of defence against broken system files, which in turn is a lot of the problem Dunning-Kruger tinkerers have where they modify system files with some random memescript or "shell enhancement" programs, but aren't smart enough to undo any of that damage.

frens, I'm losing my FUCKING MIND. I have a windows 10 computer that starts playing this fucking generic music through the speakers at full volume whenever the screen turns off.

95% of the results are how to keep music (spotify) when windows goes to sleep and I've found two descriptions of this happening on ACER win7 computers which aren't helpful.

Sleep is set to Never
Turn off Screen is set to 10min
Screensaver: None

I've been up and down all the power settings and advanced menus and there is fucking dick about sound. Speaking of sound everything everywhere is set to use the headphones, and the speakers are turned to 0% volume but this music plays at 100% volume on the speakers every time the monitor goes to sleep. The second you touch the mouse or remote in it goes silent so there is nothing to see to clue me in to what the fuck is going on.

Again, I'm losing my mind it's like a living breathing catch-22, please fucking help me winfrens.

Good backup software is for emergency dirty recovery that needs to be done asap, not planned clean reinstalls.
If you have time it's almost always better to recreate configs from dumps/notes/screenshots werever possible, that way you will notice possible improvements or maybe even conflicts with new settings/defaults added after your last setup.

I'm using an old Thinkpad with 16gb of ram, getting out of memory errors despite physical ram being being at only 50%-60% full. I heard it could be because the pagefile was too small, which would be true in my situation because I have 10gb free in a 256gb ssd. I can make more space if I delete some loonix partitions that I never used, but that would be kinda time consuming.

Do you think making more free space and increasing the pagefile settings will really help?

yes, no problems so far

you can try disabling swap and see if it helps in your use case, some applications throw oom the moment they try to use more ram than pagefile size, but happily crash the system by eating all the ram if swap is disabled.

Because the definition of "quietly disappear" on 4chan is "don't reply to the post again, which will page 11 in a few hours or days". Everywhere else - including reality - it's "change your name, appearance and go live somewhere else", which if it weren't impossible for (for example) /g/entoomen to do (as they're 100% dependent on welfare, they live where .gov says, eat when .gov says, sleep when .gov says, etc.), they would be far too lazy and stupid to do it anyway.

Actually, I was just looking at this. Does the fact that VMware detects the .iso as Windows Server 2025 affect why I can't install the modified .iso?

my 2d performance in Passmark is buggered and I have seen some slower performance when browsing folders that have thumbnailing turned on

But for normal use it seems like Windows 10 with lipstick on it.

any reasons not to use LTSC 2019 instead of IoT? I don't care about security stuff, does it break any programs?
>>
>>102785843
If you wanna use 2019 just remember that the frozen feature pack will be 1809 which some programs won't run on, though a majority should run just fine.
2019 is good if your PC is old enough that post-Vibranium 10 feels too slow.

Literally why do you want to remove the legacy media player? Because it's "bloat?"
Certain programs need the legacy player to be there to even work.

>>

Windows 7 combines 10 years of feature and library updates for comple compatibility across entire lifecycle.
Windows 10 and 11 every yearly major build is a new OS purging old libs and possibly dropping compatibility if some application requires very specific version for whatever reason.

it happened here when win7 was being replaced so i guess it shouldnt really be a surprise that it would be the same with win10 eol
all windows versions are basically the same shit anyways. its just a means to run the actual programs you use.

Either find an alternative music solution or an alternative OS.
>>
>>102786281
i actually installed it on a second drive with the first (windows 10) drive disconnected then after I reconnected the original drive. now I can choose which drive to use with the UEFI boot menu in hardware as each OS has it's own EFI partition.

not sure I will keep W11 or not yet but I'll give it a thorough run through

its not about the monitors themselves but when you watch content that isnt at max refresh rate on any monitor, it tanks all other monitors refresh to match unless you either disable acceleration or use different gpus for each monitor aka igpu for secondary monitor

i must be retarded because I cannot get Mint to keep it's shit together with my setup, a 32" 4k as main and a 24" 1080 in portrait. windows has no issues with remembering the smaller monitor but Mint will occasionally flip it back to portrait, usually if I reboot it goes back to the correct orientation.

In the concrete case, pretty much. It's something (for example) freetards don't understand. Because they have no software, and no real reason to actually HAVE a computer, all they do is dick around with their Troonix, like a bunch of retarded kids watching a taffy-pulling machine all day.
Windows and macOS on the other hand, are just some that exists in the background to make your programs work. It's not the central focus, because Windows users (and to a lesser extent, macOS users) don't have to rationalize their OS "choice" every nanosecond of their lives.
