talk me out of buying pic related
theres a 10% off coupon + 15% rakuten cashback as well so it's easily the cheapest 4K OLED 240Hz i can buy

probably cheaper than the MSI 4K OLED 165Hz (but this one is flat though)

might be the right place to ask.
im planning to upgrade my pc and i already ordered new parts.
i have a r5 1600 on a b350 prime plus asus motherboard with 16gb of ddr4 3200mhz corsair vengeance ram.
i dont want to reinstall windows can i just plug in my old nvme into the new motherboard and have windows update all the drivers?
im upgrade to a msi mpg b550 board and a 5800x3d along with doubling the ram to 32gb.
anyone familiar with such a thing?
its a windows 10 install.

Thoughts on this build? Going for 1440p gaming, but I really to play a whole lot of super new AAA games. I already have the gpu, so my aim is to future proof everything surrounding the gpu then upgrade that when the 50series launches. If the 50series is as disappointing as the 40 series I think ill just look for a used 4070 ti super and then just not upgrade again for like a decade (please let me know if this is retarded).

Does anyone know if the NZXT H7 Flow is a good case? Originally I was going to go with the Laincool 216 ATX cause I saw it recommended here, but the H7 Flow is on sale for a better price.

Is the power supply good? Originally I was going to get a 750W one but then I noticed this 850W one was on sale for nearly the same price and just figured why not.

Is there a way to know if this CPU cooler will be enough? I just got it from the OP and its cheaper than the AIO options.

Thanks m8s

Had two boards not work with a 64gb kit that was on the qvl, read reports online of others having the same issue specifically with 2x32 ddr5-6000 cl30. Seems like they messed something up so even if it doesn't affect you right away it doesn't seem like a good sign. I tested the boards I returned with 2x8gb kits and they worked fine though. Didn't work with 48gb sticks either, but I wasn't gonna use that, just tested out of curiosity.

if I'm building a gaming PC answer me this, why would I spend all that money just to buy a PC that can only play 1080p.

You need to spend $1000 to get a 1080p PC that can handle high settings nowadays. Might as well spend $1000 more and get the latest.

It costs about $1900 to get the newest cpu, gpu, and 1440p oled monitor

Right, so it's not even worth it.

The people that are truly the most retarded arent the consoomer spending $1900 on a 9800X3D+7900XTX and a 1440p $400 OLED

It's the regular jim bob who is buying a 5600x+6700XT gaming PC and spending $900 to get old shitty parts to play at 1080p with shitty graphics.

Buy a regular office chair, gaming chairs are well known to be uncomfortable and you’re paying more for the color or branding.
I’ve never had a chair that’s tolerable to sit in that was less than $300. So just get a slightly decent one and be done with it. Otherwise you end up replacing your $80 chair for a $150 chair and then a $200 chair, and still not happy.

Amazon hasn't shipped the MSI QD-OLED GAYMEN monitor order yet.
I'm not sure whether this is good (time to cancel) or bad.
ASUS ROG WOLED is an alternative, but it's a bit costlier and has no HDMI 2.1, with supposedly a bit worse text fringing.

Anyone actually able to grab the 9800X3D at MSRP? I got an email from Newegg saying it was back in stock, and was sold out again in 20m.

Also, since I'm basically re-building my PC from scratch (only keeping PSU / GPU / NVME from my current rig), is it worth getting Windows 11? Got a notification recently about them stopping support for W10 soon-ish, but I believe there was some issue with W11 limiting gaming performance last month.

was able to get a 7800x3d for $300 last november. the general view of 7xxx series and am5 was that it wasn't worth upgrading to an entirely new platform, so all am4 upgraders went for 5800x3d, and fomo drove that thing almost up to $400. after initial demand is gone, the 9800x3d won't get that cheap like the 7800x3d did since they are both on the same platform, so upgraders to am5 would go for a 9800x3d anyways

Keep the pre-applied thermal paste for the first time you mount it, you'll get to use your tube when you need to remove your cooler to access a part, clean the radiator or just to repaste it. Thermal paste stays good for years, not really a waste of money.

>>103321372
Don't, you'll overpaste it. The pre-applied amount is enough, you'll get worse cooling if you put more paste between the die and base plate.

Guess B750 and B770 are going to have 7800XT/4070 and 7900GRE/4070S performance which is enough. Alchemist GPUs already have better raytracing than RDNA3 and if Intel delivers good drivers (and marketing) it unironically might compete on the market.

Ideal circumstance might be nonsense though. Vt3 might be loading up numbers that are 10x bigger and have 10x lower throughput if you have 10x more ram, I'm testing 192gb or 5.4gb per core which could account for the low throughput since I selected stress test it'll run whatever is the most stressful not necessarily the fastest. If that's how it works, ideal circumstance is like the smallest ddr5 sticks you can get at the highest speeds and you can get a completely meaningless result

I'm not poor by any standard, merely aware that two grand (close to three in 5090's case) can buy a lot more fun than whatever scrap silicon Nvidia sees fit to repackage into their top end manchild pacifier. People with some wealth to their name carry an ethical obligation to avoid indulging commercial indecency. Offer value or die. Thanks for reading my blog. Faggot.

It's called seasoning. It gives personality to the panel.

What does this mean?

they are consumer cards, why would a datacenter card be only $5000

How well would the 9800X3D cope in a ITX/small form factor PC? Would you reccomend any specific cases/coolers for it?

Huh. So that's what it does.

Got bored started playing around with my 79xtx pulse ocing the memory goes to 2700mhz easy but it still won't undervolt oc worth a damn it sits on 2.5ghz max 415w did I get a lemon?
>>
>>103322422
pulse is probably binned a little worse compared to nitro, but I could be wrong

I'm CPU bottlenecked in beamng with my 13600k but GPU bottlenecked in asetto corsa 1 with CSP cm mods in VR kek

Can't the 5090 or 9900xtx just drop already? Might sell this 79xtx before the mod bug bites I guess sapphire binned it from a nitro+ for a reason it's just a regular pulse why did AMD break more power tools I had way better OC on my 69xtx nobody wants to buy a modded card also 2800mhz memory made little aliens appear on my screen kek quickly dropped it back down to safe 2750
>>
>>103322008
>the best motherboards are these based on a fairly irrelevant graph

Sure, you should not buy the bottom tier boards. But any board is not better just because it is 5C cooler than another board, and the coldest doesn't mean best. Period.
>>
Acer Nitro XV275K or InZone M9 II?
>>
>>103322436
Hitting 2.9ghz for a split sec before crash gave me 20fps more 80-100 it just needs more power but clearly isn't a undervolter
>>
>>103322274
I assume as well as 7800X3D does, since they consume the same amount of power.
>>
>>103322453
i don't advocate buying overpriced boards, the chart shows that a $120 board is fine but a $90 board is a complete waste of money

Only paid 800usd for my pulse reckon it's worth modding ? Memory seems very good at 2700mhz ish I know fuck all about using a bios programmer to flash the 550w aqua extreme bios which apparently can brick cards so I have to use the regular aqua one

post a screen of settings in adrenalin and hwinfo if you can. thats pretty bad. my merc310 does like 3.2ghz effective/front end clock at max power with undervolt.
did you raise pl to +15% and use oc vbios?
>>
>>103322502
no reason to mod a bad card, since all you'll get is bad results. i assume you are >>103322422 anon, so check your settings first because all cards should undervolt somewhat decently and be able to achieve 3ghz
>>
>>103322674

Apparently stock nitro+ can hit 3-3.3ghz on air so yeah I got a mega shit bin lol

Maybe my psu wasn't dying after all oh well I'll use it to power my amps

Wow I'm getting expected performance now when I'm not loading over 5gb per thread. It's almost like you have Dunning-Kruger syndrome.

did you just... move most of the test into cache and then claim you aren't making my point?

Anyone on here selling a 4090? This 79xtx can't hit the speeds I want it to. Cbf waiting for a 5090 9900xtx

The Acer, but if for a 27" 4K LCD the 27M2V2 has slightly better image quality and is usually a bit cheaper:
https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tools/compare/innocn-27m2v-vs-acer-nitro-xv275k-p3biipruzx/38489/39860

If you don't mind the lower pixel density of a 32" 4K panel or the aggressive curve as a deal breaker the Samsung Odyssey Neo G75NB is a Mini-LED VA panel which reduces the blooming that happens on Mini-LED IPS displays:
https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/samsung-odyssey-neo-g7-s32bg75/

You aren't wed to 4K LCD at the price you can get 27" 1440p OLEDs which are would be a night-and-day upgrade in image quality for the same price or less:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/8KzXsY/innocn-27a1s-270-2560-x-1440-250-hz-monitor-27a1s
^Cheaper Matte 1440p WOLED
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/BR7scf/msi-mag-271qpx-qd-oled-e2-265-2560-x-1440-240-hz-monitor-mag-271qpx-qd-oled-e2
^Slightly more expensive Glossy 1440p QD-OLED

And for not much more than 27" 4k LCDs you can splurge for a 4K OLED if you really want the resolution bump:
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/4HkH99/msi-mag-321up-qd-oled-315-3840-x-2160-165-hz-monitor-mag-321up-qd-oled
If it were me I'd spring for one of the OLEDs depending on budget. The lack of LCD defects like IPS glow, blooming on MiniLED, VA smearing, narrow viewing angles, etc coupled with perfect colors, contrast, and motion response times regardless of refresh rate and FPS is too overwhelming for a home display. LCDs are good for Excel and browsing 4chan and that's it.

I thought you were the guy who said I'm not getting expected performance and said my explanation of why throughput of a ram test is meaningless for measuring cpu performance is retarded.
>>
>>103322815
I'll just type them out
Core min:500mhz (for all runs)
Changing max from 3000mhz to 2500-3500 made no difference
Card wasn't stable under 1150mv sits around 800-1000 under load anyway pwr limit+15% 415w pegged constantly
Ram fast timings runs 2650-2750 no issues temps very good hot spot doesn't go over 80c with fans screaming at 3300rpm core and mem temps don't go over 65-70

Unless you can get the LG for significantly cheaper, I'd go with the QD-OLED as every color, other than white, is is significantly both brighter and purer on it which adds up to cumulative advantage in color gamut & volume. See this quick-read if you have time:
https://tftcentral.co.uk/articles/exploring-oled-brightness-improvements-woled-vs-qd-oled-and-the-need-for-new-metrics-and-specs
Really adds to the pop and richness of games and video, particularly with content containing a lot of bright solid colors like in anime.
>>
>>103322852
yeah thats me. we can start over since you cant keep up.
>anon 1 has low performance on vt3
>i say you fucked something up
>anon 3 screeches NOOOOOOOOO
>anon 1 or 3 idk said throughput measure is retarded for this
>i say you don't know how this actually works
>anon 1 unironically accuses somebody of dunning kruger while demonstrating it himself (why the fuck would anybody assume you aren't using the default allocation of memory for vt3)
>this interaction
