Same link, use Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal

-EoL 2035
-Only if you fell for the 12th+ gen Intel meme and need the new CPU scheduler

-ISO: 4.8GB

W10/W11 Home/Pro/Edu/Enterprise/EnterpriseIoT
-Avoid
-Only 1.5-2 yrs support

i built a PC with new, modern parts for the first time in my life, which was fun, but I have an issue with Windows that I wasn't able to figure out yet. Whenever games using easyanticheat load, it just straight bluescreens my computer.
r9 9900x, 96GB DDR5-6500, 3080, win11 24h2 pro.
The crash is coming from UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP and in Windbg it is clearly coming from easyanticheat_eos.sys.
I already did clean install of windows, driver verifier, bios and driver updates, etc etc.
Anyone know how I can figure it out? I have support thread with asus going but as predicted they are being relatively useless.

that's not totally true, you can get software (fan-control) that will do software control of fans

I've been using Windows since 95. Windows 11 doesn't even let you display seconds when you expand the date/time widget in the toolbar. Yet people online claim "oh no that feature was added already". Then I check exactly what they're talking about, exactly where it is supposed to be, and it's not there. Windows 11 is just gaslighting and spying.

>>103511105
More streamlined File Explorer sounds dangerous.

of the changes in win11, adding tabs to the file explorer is the one thing I have actually found useful. Everything else in the updates is just bloat dogshit that makes using windows worse.

Reading up on MS Learn when it comes to the error code:
>Bug check 0x7F typically occurs after you install faulty or mismatched hardware, especially memory, or if installed hardware fails.
>A double fault can occur when the kernel stack overflows. This overflow occurs if multiple drivers are attached to the same stack. For example, if two file system filter drivers are attached to the same stack and then the file system recurses back in, the stack overflows.

So your first path is maybe something to do with the RAM, maybe something to do with XMP?
>>
>>103511553
I did check that (it is 0x7F), I tried with completely stock bios, EXPO 1, EXPO tweaked, and I even swapped to a different kit of ram entirely (DDR5-5200), somehow did not change anything

Is there some way (cmd/powershell) to turn off the screen in the same way that your screen turns off based on power saving settings? Not like going to sleep, just screen off + when you move your mouse or otherwise interact with the interface, it turns on again.

Right now, I have a 3rd party tool for that installed, which lets me use

To answer your question, get an ISO off Massgrave that matches your Windows version, and use the Repair functionality to terminate shitty driver. Your Windows install will promptly start working again.

Yes, memescripts conflict with user-set Group Policies. You'll end up with a situation where your memescript-set values will take effect, then at some point down the road, the Group Policy client will overwrite them.
Having said that, memescripts exist for the convenience of the low IQ demographic that can't into Group Policy. Your memescript settings won't be overwritten by Group Policy if you're too dumb to use Group Policy.
TL;DR: in practice, there's no opportunity for conflict.

>>103523555
People pushing 10GB attachments through them, and they need to be stored at every relay, every POP3 server, etc. until the recipient downloads them.
I'm quite surprised SMTP and POP3 still work at all, frankly.
>>
>>103523555
back in the days of POP3, email worked by downloading the mail to your computer, removing it from the server. that is, you could receive your email once, and if you wanted to see it again, you needed to keep it locally. it's more like real mail where once you take it out of the mailbox, it's no longer in the mailbox
then later once multiple/portable computers became more common, we got IMAP, where mail stays on the servers until you delete them yourself, and you only download a copy for viewing. you can imagine server storage requirements will have exploded because of this, since now you need to store every email forever (or until a user deletes it from the server, which nobody ever does), where before you only needed to store email that hadn't been downloaded yet

Aaaand back to Windows 10 I go. I decided to give W11 IoT LTSC a try, and tried reproducing those bugs and slow downs people were complaining about, but mine ran very smoothly so I thought they were exaggerating, but it seems I have my own unique reasons to avoid W11 for now.

You don't understand what I meant because you don't know the history. These guys began to publish emulators on almost daily basis and MS reacted and kept taking them down. At some point MS disallowed retail emulation and now (afaik) it only works via dev mode.

Protip: if you changed group policy to make Windows Update notify to download and it's pestering you several times a day with security intelligence updates, what you can do is change the "Define the order of sources for downloading security intelligence updates" policy to MMPC.
That gets you back to the old way of doing things where Defender pulls its own updates instead of having WU push the updates. You can then configure other policies to either schedule the security intelligence updates or have them trigger when the PC restarts or before a scheduled scan. If you don't configure anything else, then it'll update once a week when your definitions are considered "outdated".
Took me way too long to figure this out because every person asking about this was told it can't be done, and only recently did MS add a note to the docs explaining what MMPC is and how the fallback behavior actually works.
>>
>>103538455
It's better to simply unsubscribe from MAPS. If you're throwing away updates entirely, it's not going to do you any good anyway.
>>
>>103538469
Not sure I follow. I read about MAPS and it is supplemental to security intelligence updates, no? And I haven't read anything about it going through Windows Update (nor have I seen it listed there). So it does its work independently, right?
Getting security intelligence updates through MMPC instead of automatically through WU may reduce the frequency and result in larger deltas, but I don't think that's a huge deal (I should clarify I'm suggesting this sort of configuration for a personal device). I restart my PC at the same time every day, so I have it configured to check for security intelligence updates after a restart, and have verified that it is receiving them through MMPC.

If you're assuming I have WU set to notify so that I can skip or delay updates, that's not the reason. I simply prefer to have Windows (and all software) ask me before doing anything that could disrupt my use of the PC. Honestly I'd probably be fine with automatic updates BUT you have to give me a heads up with a notification or a tray icon, and that's what recent versions of Windows fail to do.
What I hate is when I walk away from the PC for 10 minutes and come back to the fans going full blast because the PC was idle and so Windows decided now was a good time to update. Then the moment I open the task manager to check what's happening (because it doesn't just fucking tell me) it throttles everything immediately and pretends it wasn't doing anything. That kind of behavior may make sense in a business where you can reasonably expect the PC to have some downtime overnight when it can do its thing but for a personal device that can be on or off any time of the day it's total bullshit and just feels like Windows is stepping on your toes every time it happens.
>>
>>103540238
I was under the impression that they work hand-in-hand. Maybe I'm missing something, but I've certainly had no problems with Windefend updates arriving through this "backup" channel when I've disabled MAPS - I only get the every-few-days full-fat version via WU (which of course is just as easily-disabled via Group Policy).
>>
>>103540266
My experience was, Defender only ever falls back to the backup channel (MMPC) if its definitions become outdated as defined by group policy, which is after one week by default. If the definitions are not outdated, then all policies for scheduling security intelligence updates just seem to trigger a WU check without requiring that the latest definitions are actually installed. I think MAPS is delivered through its own channel that is neither WU nor MMPC, since the docs mention letting it through your firewall and checking for connectivity from the command line.
Anyway, I only want to be notified for significant updates like the monthly security/quality rollups, .NET, or the CRT that usually happen on a Patch Tuesday. I consider security intelligence updates low enough impact to happen automatically when I start my PC, so that's why I wanted WU to be totally out of the picture for them.

Requesting /fwt/ some confirmation.
My dad's office PC has a Kaby Lake CPU with Windows 10 without issues. However, due to imminent deprecation in favour of Windows 11, I instructed my dad it is time to upgrade it to something compatible (I know I can force install 11 on that PC but troubleshooting that PC is cumbersome in case it shits the bed). So, I'm planning to buy a cheap second hand Coffee Lake motherboard/CPU.
So, the question here is if there are chances requirements will change for Windows 11 in the future or I'm good to go with Coffee Lake.

Thanks in advance!

For as long as it's called "Windows 11", it will have the minimum requirements it currently has. You're only at risk if you go below them, and omegapoors found out when 24H2 didn't run on C2Ds anymore.
It's actually why Microsoft decided to make Windows 11: 10 had collected quite a few new features over the last decade, but MS couldn't turn them on by default, because the Windows 10 official requirements were something around a Prescott Pentium 4.

If you want Game Pass to work then you need either normal GAC Enterprise 10 or use IoT LTSC 2024 which is 11-based using 24H2 as its feature pack.
Using normal GAC Enterprise 10 is actually not that bad an idea though these days because the MAS team have figured out how to get the extended security updates for free so you can just apply that when the time comes.

Yeah, but you're not going to be on IoT
Remember to switch to IoT with MAS after installing

Your only excuse is being too much of a dumb faggot to fire up a VM. You're probably not even Jewish.

I bought a re-certified HDD from serverparts and I did a long SMART check and it was completely fine. Now I am filling up this 20tb external HDD in NTFS, by hoarding videos, but yesterday JDownloader crashed and with it windows 10, so I had to hard reboot by hand both the computer and the external enclosure.

Now the HDD displays ''The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable'' when I try to access the folders that were being written during the crash. All the previous folders are fine. There is no weird noise form the HDD.
I did a quick scan with HDTUNE and a quick SMART check with HD Sentinel, and they say there is NO error.

I use ''everything'' to look up partial download with ''*.part'' and it finds some:
-some of those .part are in a accessible folder, but when I open it, the *.part are not shown
-some of the *.part files are in the INaccessible folders

The HDD is 75% filled already and I really want a way to just delete the corrupted folders and go back to a pre-crash state. Please tell me there's a way to avoid formatting?

All of this points to a corrupt MFT (Master File Table) , ideally not a physical damage on the HDD, so how do I refresh it?

whats the most minimal windows iso? is ghost spectre for 11 just as good as tiny10?
>>
>>103547720
If you want minimal with a custom ISO then use Tiny11.
https://archive.org/details/tiny11-2311
>>
>>103547738
what should i remember to download by installing this? any codecs, drivers, etc?
>>
>>103547750
If you already have a Windows install running on your computer then you can dump your current running drivers to a folder for later use using DISM.
>>
>>103547759
nice never heard of that thank you. any reason why you recommend tiny11 over tiny10/ghost spectre ?
>>
>>103547786
Tiny11 is stripped back enough that it's very light but not stripped back enough that it'll break because things are missing. It's a fully serviceable custom install.

what would break on 10
these are my specs
B50 Phantom Gaming 4 mobo
Ryzen 5 5600X
Crucial Pro RAM 32GB Kit (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz

I upgraded to 11 a few days ago because black ops 6 kept crashing on 10 and I thought 11 would fix it but it hasnt.

Moreover, 11 has been dissapointing, cant move taskbar i know i can modify that thru 3rd party, i had to registry edit back the old context menu, IDLE ram usage is 3-4GB,it sucks basically

And im on 11 LTSC IOT

how do I stop windows update from updating firmware on my win11 laptop?
I don't want firmware updates/bios updates

I don't want my OS to manage firmware
if I want to update firmware, I want to do that manually
booting Windows shouldn't permanently alter the machine

Thinking of creating a rentry about 10 IoT LTSC regarding
- installation
- debloating / debotnetting
- customization
- recommended programs
Just finished setting up my 10 IoT LTSC, downgrading from 11, and I'd like to share the knowledge I've collected that aren't on the OP rentries. Should I do it? Is anyone interested?

Should be finished in about a day? I'm currently at work and can't start working on it until I get home later today.
I'll quote my original post and then post the link once it's done.
>>
>>103551133
could i just downgrade to win 10 iot ltsc rn, and then customize it later per your guide or is there some fuckery during the installation of which your guide would be needed?
>>
>>103551166
You should be good to downgrade. I used the Rufus method outlined in one of the rentries in the OP and it still worked for me, and that's what I'm planning to put in my guide.
>>
>>103551133
NTA but I'd like clarity on system locales for enterprise IoT LTSC. Is it a matter of simply installing 10 in english, then going back in to system locale after setup and switching it to say, japanese, to keep english date/time/etc. but be able to run weebshit programs from retarded devs.

im 100% it was only available for lock screen on windows 10
why do they keep adding features if its going to EOS next year
>>

maybe because since the desktop it's virtually the same as 11, it doesn't take too much effort to do it and if they can shove more slop into your PC they will do it for sure, and 10 still has more marketplace as well

So can I just download Windows 11 from here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
Slap it on a USB drive with rufus, stick it into a PC and that's it?
>>
>>103557262
You can very much do that, yes. Just make sure to use the Education edition while installing to get access to Enterprise-level control (which you can turn into actual Enterprise after install with MAS's edition switcher.)
And just make sure to set the custom options to bypass requirements and MS account usage, and maybe Bitlocker and privacy questions as well.
