FAQ:
>How do I activate Windows?
github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
HWID2 mimics a valid Windows installation to generate a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
Usage: paste into Notepad, save as .ps1, run it
irm https://get.activated.win | iex

>and Office?
Same method, use Ohook
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

>What version should I install?
W10 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2021
-10 years support on IoT LTSC, EoL 2032
-5 years on LTSC, EoL 2027
-LTSC releases are binary identical to Enterprise except:
-no MS Store, no bloat apps, and no feature/version updates
-If you need MS Store run this in cmd: wsreset -i
-ISO: 4.5GB

W11 Enterprise IoT LTSC 2024
-EoL 2035
-Only if you fell for the 12th+ gen Intel meme and need the new CPU scheduler
-Same UI downgrades as regular W11
-ISO: 4.8GB

W10/W11 Home/Pro/Edu/Enterprise/EnterpriseIoT
-Avoid
-Only 1.5-2 yrs support
-Limited control over updates
-Preinstalled bloatware apps (games, music, news, weather, onedrive, start menu ads, etc)
*W11 specific
*Removed features and reduced performance in Start, Taskbar and Explorer
*Recall bloat (ARM)
-ISOs: 6.4~6.6GB

It's not bad. I don't move the taskbar and I launch programs with powertoys run so honestly the most useful thing about it is that it decreases taskbar height quite a bit. If you have a 16:9 display it feels like the W11 taskbar takes up half of it.

If you're insistent on using Home or Pro then Pro is better to have. Though with how easy it is to use/change your edition to the best one IE Enterprise and activate it with MAS, why bother.
>>
>>103596205
No easy way, no. I've done it by search-and-replacing every single path in NTUSER.DAT, then renaming the user profile folder - but it's far, far easier just to back up the contents of your user profile, nuke it, rename your account, let the User Profile Manager service make you a fresh one, and then (selectively) restore your files.

Does anyone else have a problem with VAC on CS2? Previously I was on w10 LTSC and everything was fine. Recently I upgraded to both a new am5 system and w11 LTSC. Now I can not play CS2 as it constantly gives VAC error that tells me something is wrong with file integrity. I tried EVERYTHING that is available on the internet along with some experimentation and I can not get it to work. I contacted support and they replied with closing certain programs like cheat engine. I replied back by saying I have nothing running besides steam in the back as that was the case, they did not come up with a adequate response and only replied what was said before. Haven't been able to play cs2 since I got the new components and I am wondering if it is because of w11 LTSC.

There is a way but it's a bit hacky. Massgrave has a guide on their 10 EoL page.
Basically just resolves around changing the EditionID registry key to IoT LTSC's ID and quickly going through the setup.exe of a IoT LTSC 2024 ISO until you get to the end. If it worked, you can save files/apps because the setup thinks your PC is already IoT LTSC.

Easier to use an autounattend file to edit the way that Windows installs from a baseline ISO. Either from this autounattend generator (https://schneegans.de/windows/unattend-generator/) or using a premade one like UnattendedWinstall (https://github.com/memstechtips/UnattendedWinstall)

helping out a friend getting ltsc Win10 installed, already installed mine using the ltsc guide in the sticky a year ago or so

is the windows install guide in the sticky fine to use, or should I go with the longer, more detailed ltsc guide?

I ask because I'm unsure if building an ISO with MSMG Toolkit is better than using O&O ShutUp10++ in an unmodified ltsc setup since MSMG removes some features/components

I don't know what I've done but I've literally been trying all day to fix my windows 10 LTSC install.
After setting it up installing some programs and it working for a bit I finally had to install office, and after that booting led me straight to the non-functional windows recovery as it failed to boot. Since then I've reinstalled via a ventoy live USB and this time tried some of the debloater scripts like shutup10 and I think that seriously fucked my install since now steam and some other programs/ apps are saying it can't connect to the network at all, and some windows updates are not installing. I've tried tons of powershell and cmd admin commands, copying the entire program files over from windows.old and not sure how to fix this, or if it's the windows.old folder itself causing problems. I also followed some guides that I later realised are probably out of date which involved disabling services, but the problem is now I don't know which services if any I've disabled that are causing the problem.
It feels like I've tried everything and I'm continuously smashing my head against a wall trying to fix this.

Let me know what you guys think.

>>103619933
Incredibly solid. OP should definitely add it to the OP next time.
I'd recommend to say to use diskpart's clean command on the target drive before you install IoT LTSC though. You can also use diskpart to make other connected drives appear offline besides the target disk if you don't feel like taking out SATA cables etc.
