I'm thinking about building a new PC mostly for gayming. Is it worth waiting for black friday deals? Do you think there's any chance of getting a 5070ti at a more reasonable price? What discounts can I expect? I'm in Europe, if it matters.CPU would probably be a 7800x3d, GPU 5060ti 16gb or 5070ti (maybe their AMD equivalent if the price is much better). Also what is the monitor situation like for 1440p these days? Is mini led a meme? I see that good IPS monitors cost 200 while OLED starts at like 500 and I would have to worry about burn in and shit.
Why can't I find a 32" wuxga monitor?

>>106653028>expect UDNA however to be a fucking catastrophic disaster architecture that doesn't get fixed for 4 gens like RDNAEh, it won't be of that level. RDNA 1 was shit because AMD had completely dropped the r&d ball for Radeon since 2012-2013 and it was a sudden jump from the shite Vega samsung/global foundries 14nm to TSMC 7nm process. They tried to cover 5-8 years of neglect within 2 and it showed. Meanwhile UDNA seems iterative on RDNA and CDNA, AMD has been heavily investing in GPU r&d since the AI boom in 2022 and the main difference from RDNA seems to be that they are trying to finally fix their shit productivity and AI to jump into whats now 95% of the GPU market. Worst case scenario it'll be a sidegrade from RDNA4 gaming wise but an upgrade in all AI shit, so like RTX 4000 -> RTX 5000
>>106653019I'd be quite happy to recommend the 245k and 265k for people that want multicore performance on a budget but most people seeking advice here are building for gaming where AMD currently has the edge.

Pair it with an actually fairly-priced and good-value card like the 5070Ti or the 9700XT and the improvement in gaming is almost gone, let alone considering that the 265K is better in both single thread and multi thread performance and in most professional workloads than the 9700X. Don't get me wrong, I still think that the 9700X is a valuable cpu but I can't understand why the 267K isn't in the OP, since its current price is very competitive and makes it one of the best all rounder CPU available right now.

>>106653203Tbh most people arent constantly looking at current prices and its only recently that the core ultra series has fallen to such low prices. At this point the only downside to getting a core ultra is that intel will probably continue their mobo socket kikery and force people into a new mobo every 1-2 gens but in terms of VFM its hard to beat the core ultra series.

>>106653292White lights up all three rgbs to full brightness so it's probably a mini brownout where enough power couldn't be supplied and the voltage drooped too low to keep the LEDs lit

>>106653306Is this a permanent damage? What do I do? It was working for 1 week.
>>106653319Low voltage doesn't damage stuff.
>>106653292sounds like theres not enough current getting to the fans, check out the Voltage readings in BIOS in both set ups and see if one is lower. Also check the fan you removed separately to make sure it isnt fucky. If theres too low voltage then your PSU is either unable to supply enough power or its going bad, alternatively it could be that you are exceeding the max current that the mobo's fan header can output.
>>106653326I've been using the skyblue lights for the past week and when I switched to white color, everything went fucky a few seconds in. My mobo only has one ARGB header, sadly.

>>106651555Just build my first PC using parts from an old pre-built PC and a bunch of second hand parts. Never built a PC before or even touched the inside components of one but I'm generally fairly tech savy and I know what a GPU and an HDD do and shit so I felt like sure I'll figure it out. Nothing came with manuals as it was all second hand so I just downloaded the motherboard manual to see what goes where and I skimmed through a Linus Tech tips video. So I plugged everything in correctly yadayadayada and I think I'm finished. I turn it on and nothing happens and it starts to smell funky.Turns out psu cables are not interchangeable. I should have known this I guess but I somehow did not. I fried four SSDs. Luckily I happened to use the right cable on my GPU but fuck me. I even had a friend tell me in advance "hey btw make sure you don't use the old cables" but I thought it was like a recommendations instead of like life or death shit. I feel so retarded for having missed this but on the other hand it really goes against common sense that these cables can absolutely never ever be swapped even though they look the same and have the same connectors and will just go in without a problem, no other kind of cable in the world works like that.

Thinking about getting an 27"oled monitor, but which resolution...4k: +better text clarity, can scale 200% for desktop and browser so it looks good, can integer scale 1080p. Though this may not work 100% in all cases in wayland, I could dual boot into windows if I really need that-more expensive1440:+cheaper, a good middle ground performance-wise between 1080 and 4k-browsing might be somewhat bad because of text clarity issuesI mostly play older games so I might get away with the 4k. How is interpolating 1440p on 4k anyway? On my TV I can see little difference, so I almost never play native - of course I sit further away. I mostly game on my TV too, so I will definitely use this primarily for browsing, but I might game on it if I like the QD-OLED look, or if I want to play shooters or MMO slop.

>>106656954Why would you use RenoDX when Special K exists? Also RenoDX doesn't even work for anything than DirectX, while RTX HDR and Special K do.
>>106657357Historically GPUs haven't been at MSRP since the 3000 series
>>106657257>using that logic monitors would be fine since they are dimmer than tvs, but that's not the case is it, it's just worseYou know what light diffusion, inverse square law and MLA are, right?
>>106657281ehhhi'm running on 10g at 4k right now and its finei'm good with a 16g card for the 7000 seriesdlss and a gsync monitor makes up for it
>>106656575https://www.amd.com/en/products/processors/chipsets/am5.html#specsIts optional. B650e requres it.
Should I get a 1440p IPS or OLED?I browse 4chan, read manga, play dota, play csgo, watch movies, watch sports. Maybe code 10% of the time on this PC. rarely though
>>106657552YPS
>>106657600any suggestions? no budget
>>106657476>light diffusionno>nverse square lawno>MLAthe panel tech meme yesis your claim that brightness does not matter for hdr then? is this your stance? does not matter how much tech jargon you dropin that case you don't even need hdr displays capable of displaying brighter mastered hdr, or gaymesin that case your final claim is just that hdr is a meme all together then?>>106657552I don't think a 750-810hz 1440p IPS exists that can keep up with a 500-540hz oled so the comparison is kinda not the same
>>106657633so what should I get
>>106657612>no budget>>106657647the uh XG27AQDPGor a S27FG60 if it's alot cheaperor wait for the asus 540hz trueblack if you prefer that
>>106657667>XG27AQDPGI heard OLEDS were bad though if you read alot which I do (manga / reddit/ 4chan etc)
>>106657552ips. OLED is a meme for now.
>>106657690which one? 27GR83Q ?
>>106657676yeah the ppi is not amazing since it's 1440pin that case just buy a 4k 27" 240hz qdoled xg27ucdm or a pg27ucdm or mp272urx which would be the equivalent of a 360hz lcd in clarity>>106657690kek
>>106657705>pg27ucdmHm, I thought about 4k but dont wanna lower my FPS in games. Or is there no real clear winner and everything has some tradeoff here
>>106657726use scaling, it's 2.2x as many pixelsnative does not matter anymore
>5070>5070 die on super card when availablewould it work?
>>106657633No, just saying you don't even know how brightness work. >>light diffusion>no>>nverse square law>no>>MLA>the panel tech meme yesYeah, I guessed that.
>>106657782oh you mean to say if u scale the 4k monitor to what the 1440p has, the 4k would look way better?
>>106657427>Also RenoDX doesn't even work for anything than DirectXSo it works for 99% of games? Retard
>>106657894your concession has been accepted, so brightness does matter again for hdrthanks for confirmingsee you next time>>106657914the difference would be negligible and the upside of a 4k panel is way highernot saying it's ideal but it doesn't matter
