Have another question about GPU upgrades for a blender enthusiast

A few days ago i was talking itt about which rtx card I should go for, and the 5070/5070ti are the 2 that I'm currently looking on saving for. But I'm wondering if saving an extra 200 to get the ti version instead of a regular 5070 would be worth the money.

What cpu should I get to get rid of the bottleneck?

was thinking about upgrading my old PC with a corsair frame 5000D and an intel arc B580. found out that the B580 needs something called re-BAR enabled in bios to run good, and I needed to update the B450 tomahawk max in order to activate re-BAR. updating to a recent bios version allowed enabling of re-BAR, but also caused HDMI audio to stop working. I tried a few fixes from the internet, but they didn't work. flashed bios back to the OG version and HDMI audio instantly worked again, but no ability to enable re-BAR obviously. I consider this a sign that my poorfag ass should hold on to the money

Are you using your PC case's front panel I/O to connect the headphone? This might be causing issues.
Try connecting headphones directly to the motherboard's audio jack on the back of your case.
If the case's front panel I/O is causing the issue, check the cable that routes to the motherboard and set it away from other cables.

This might not completely solve the issue, because the audio traces on the board may not be properly shielded.
This is a pretty common issue, and you might have to buy an external DAC + headphone amp.

I bought a cheap processor (i7 3770k) from eBay to upgrade my dad's pc (dell Inspiron 660) so it can get windows 11 but when I installed it the power light was just orange and it wouldn't turn on. I tried taking out the CMOS battery for a few mins then putting it back in and it didn't turn on after that either.
I'm not entirely sure if the processor is faulty, the extra power usage is too much for the power supply or if there is one other kind of issue.
I put the old processor back in and it's working fine.

I'm interpolating some of my favorite czech soap operas and I would like to know what hardware is capable of playing the videos properly.
On my rtx 5000 series it seems like it is at the edge of compatibility because I was getting some frame drops at higher bit rates on different clips.

I'm guessing nvidia 3000 series and lower will drop frames; AMD rx 6000 series and lower will drop frames?

Just realized ffmpeg made the files variable frame rate when they should be constant. Guess that is a bug to deal with.

Could you help me pick one between these two builds?

Lossless scaling on linux is still very much a beta, haven't personally tried it but if you are willing to dive into a garbage bin then they have a dedicated linux channel on their discord and its seemingly random on if it'll work. I do expect that it'll get usable within a few years at most, and we might even see GPU manufacturers start supporting such twin card arrangements in an official capacity (jk, nvidia wont do that unless threatened by AMD and AMD cant do that rn cause pre RDNA4 their frame gen is shitty poopy)

I get 0 dropped frames on those clips with my 5080.
The fast decode tuning option seems to be junk with x265 because if you compare the clips the image quality is way worse.

I made an av1 version before the x265 and it dropped lke 8% of clips and could only run around 82 fps on my 5080.

I don't recommend any specific board because it all depends on what you need.
As long as you get good enough IO there is no much difference between many of the models.
VRM doesn't matter much for AM5 unless you buy super-low end.
B650 boards will most likely need UEFI update before you will be able to POST.
So at around $150 you can find some ATX boards, just avoid A620 or B840 chipsets.
Just check the reviews for most common issues.
