How often it says isms. Less isms might also mean the model really understands the story so it doesn't need to fall back to the same words.
Degradation is probably how worse the story is at the end? Claude often makes really shitty long stories, with "the council" endlessly arguing about things and stuff, but that doesn't matter if you guide the story.
The score metric might be the best actually, but it's still llm judged.

3.7 sonnet was an upgrade to 3.5 sonnet. 3.5 sonnet had this issue where it just wouldn't write a lot. it wouldn't advance the scene by itself. it would stand stock still until you made something happen. 3.7 sonnet fixed that. characters were progressive. they'd move the story forward, and 3.7 sonnet wrote plenty. it was a genuine joy to use.

all of the problems in 3.5 sonnet? are back in 4 sonnet. no progression, it writes less, 4 sonnet's benchmark scores are even worse than 3.7 sonnet's benchmark scores. and yet, the filter on 4 sonnet is also stronger. it's a downgrade across the board
