How do I get gpt to better play a particular character in a narrative I present. It can do alright for a while after defining its character, but then eventually it just start describing the things its character is doing as "You get up..." and randomly interjecting omnipotent additions to the narrative and speaking for other characters before asking me what its character should do.
Im not really sure what causes the breakdown. It could be speaking to it directly when GMing (char_name grabs you) confusing its perspective, or it could be the interjecting of the environmental/character inform (You notice...) cause it to think I'm taking over its character.

I was trying to be more generic here, like the model picking up writing styles and worldbuilding details, like if I exposed the model to all works of Heinlein, then it could pick up his style but naw.

The corpus has a wealth of worldbuilding data and half a novel in it. I could manually scroll the corpus (the interesting portion is ~100-120M in json) and take notes, but that would be not very scalable (the comparable task would be someone taking notes of ~1000 pages of dense schizo writing)
The project evolves, so the timestamp matters. (New info contradicting old -> New wins.) Ideally, in a way that both is kept.

And also I want the model to have a concept in long form. Ie. remember a conversation from a week to month previous, as if it had a real memory.
