COMMON LIES BEING PERPETRATED BY TROLLS AND SHILLS ITT DEBOONKED 1/2

>RADEON HAS BAD DRIVERS!!!
They have been fine for years and have the same amount of problems that Nvidia drivers have or less. Most problems occur with productivity applications which is why Radeon gpus are not recommended for workstations. If you are just gaming you are unlikely to ever have any issues, especially if you only update to the latest driver when you need to.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lv4-poQOyo

In contrast for the first few months Blackwell had major driver issues that are only now mostly fixed. Premium day one GeForce buyers that paid the nviditax had a worse early adopter experience than Radeon buyers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTXoUsdSAnA

>RADEON HAS CPU OVERHEAD!!!!
It does not. Nvidishills likes to spam charts of cherry picked DX 11 games like KCD that do not play well with radeon but in reality if anything Nvidia has a worse overhead in CPU limited scenarios. Screenshot and videos below for proof.
https://imgur.com/a/A5MIHM6

Radeon "CPU Overhead" in Warzone chart that the Nvidishill used to spam debunked: https://imgur.com/a/yy3MZRS

>9000 SERIES MSRP AND SUPPLY WAS A LIE!!!
Nvidia normally supplies over half of the market, this time they made almost no GPU's and AMD despite making a large amount of cards is unable to fufill all of this demand effectively. The result is a low supply high demand market and increased prices. However besides the US which is also impacted by tariffs the 9070 XT in many regions with some effort can be purchased for around 700 dollars or less. The card will likely go back down to MSRP around January next year when the Supers from Nvidia come out to remain competitive.

>FSR4 IS IN NO GAMES!!!
Almost every game that has upscaling can be easily modded with Optiscaler to support FSR4. The result is better than native image quality in games with bad TAA. Cyberpunk 2077 before native support was added could be modded with Optiscaler, the game can run ultra RT at 80-90 fps and 50-60 fps pathtracing with good image quality using FSR4 on quality mode.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNzI-TBV--A
https://github.com/cdozdil/OptiScaler

Native FSR4 integration will get better into the future with many games planned to have support added this year. Because of AMD's collaboration with Sony on Project Amethyst and PSSR it's likely that all future games with a console release will have FSR4 on PC.
https://www.pcgamer.com/hardware/processors/the-amd-x-sony-collab-gave-us-fsr4-and-a-version-will-appear-in-playstation-next-year-too-having-already-started-to-implement-the-new-neural-network-on-ps5-pro/

>WHERE ARE OTHER FEATURES TO MATCH NVIDIA AND WHY IS PT PERFOMANCE WORSE?!?!
FSR Redstone which is coming out before the end of the year should noticeably improve Pathtracing perfomance and match nearly all Nvidia features such as Ray Reconstruction and AI Framegen.
https://videocardz.com/newz/fsr-redstone-on-track-amd-promises-dedicated-presentation

>ZEN 5 IS MELTING ON ASROCK!!!!!!!
There is no conclusive evidence for what the cause is yet. Zen 5 and the 9800X3D in particular have sold very well and most people haven't had any issues. It's possible there was a bad batch of processors and ASRock motherboards have BIOS settings that are worsening the problem, or the fault may entirely be with ASRock, there isn't enough information to make any kind of conclusion yet. For now just avoid ASRock boards to be safe and you will likely be fine like the thousands of other people who have bought and used these CPUs for months with no problem.

The 5070s are on discount.

It's a trap right?
The new consoles in 2027 will have massive ram available for the GPUs.
>>
>>106895203
That's still 2 years away, with 3+ years until games start properly utilizing the new hardware instead of having cross-platform last-gen PS5 ports that will run fine on the 5070 at 1440p.
I'm happy with my 5070 currently. I'm open to upgrading to a 6070, 6070 Ti or 6070 Super in a few years if necessary. The 5070 can always be re-sold, or in my case - handed down to my brother to use in his PC.

Of course it is you silly boy. It won't be able to run any PS6 games with that piddly 12 gigs. It's like the 3070 all over again, enticing performance for the price with a horrendous planned obsolescence catch.

Just buy 9070 or wait for the super with more vram at least if you must buy novideo.

A 5070 at a good price might be the fit for you, i have no idea what are you gonna use it for, your budget or the rest of your rig. However there is a reason you see the 5070TI model and the 9070xt talked about instead of their base versions.

I only play cs2 and get quite sluggish gameplay. I have a 12400f with 6700xt and a very low end motherboard. Is it worth to go from 12400f to 7600? Or should i upgrade the gpu instead? Quite lost on what to do. I think the problem is bad 1% lows.

Yeah sure, its gonna bottleneck the rest of the build but its a decent card still
>new pc will use AM5 9950x3D
For my money thats a waste, but its not my money so enjoy your stuff anon
I personally dont think i could do it, i would just sell the 3070 (or your whole current rig wholesale) and buy a 5070TI with the rest of the stuff, if in 8 months (or a year) or whenever nvidia decides to release the supers then i would check them and see if the upgrade is worth it, cause those cards gonna be scalped to fuck, its not gonna be easy to get one at a good price.
Anyhow if i still want to pick a new one i would sell the 5070TI which shouldn't have deprecated massively in 8 months (or a year) and then pick a super.
Sure it wastes some money but i personally couldn't build a new rig with a fucking 700€ cpu and stick the 3070 on it. And again i believe that people are overestimating the relief the super 50s gonna offer to the market, i think they are gonna be very expensive right off the bat and only worsened by the scalping. So i probably would end up using that 5070TI (or your 3070) for longer than you anticipate.
Best of luck anon

the quest to find hdr wallpapers is pretty lame.
By default all those wallpaper websites compress images. Actual hdr wp's would be like 30mb pngs and they prefer jpgs. They are also basically scams because they want to make money and how do you do that? By not providing people good quality wallpapers for free.
The unimaginable shit taste AI flood is depressing. indians have some weird fixation of making random scenery and plopping in a tiny human standing somewhere. They have no art to them, its just pretty colors with zero taste or unique features.
Another fixation is taking a photo and doing retarded edits to them, like adding a random planet or moon in the sky, messing with the vibrance and so on.
The shit websites 90% of the time dont have proper filtering options, its just browse some shit jpgs by category. Good filters means 90% times all the good pics are watermarked and behind paywall.
Websites like reddit have actual people curate good photos, but the website is bad for a gallery view browsing type stuff + they compress images so you need to find links to a zip file hosted on another site.
People suggest making wps urself by playing a hdr game and taking screenshots with gamebar.

Hello, I'm trying to build a silent computer. I don't really know what mobo to put and I'm not sure the build I made is well done, so any help is welcome!

I don't need a big setup, I'm upgrading from 1060 (CPU is good enough) but I'd like to watch 4K video in the future. I mostly play War Thunder in high setting and it doesn't need much resources. Having a silent computer is the most important part, I can handle drive noise but not fan.

Okay i made a first draft, this is a fairly powerful pc, not top of the line but strong to last you a while and will eat War Thunder at max settins @1440p with no issue whatsoever
I chose only to show me amazon.fr as i have no idea about hoe reputable any other retailers listed in pcpartpicker are.
It ended up at 1900€ but it can be made a bit cheaper if needed i wanted to stay belowo 2k € so that out of those 3k you mentioned you can buy a new 1440p (or 4k) monitor and pay for somebody to build the pc for yo (if needed) as you seem to not have a lot of experience.

Now for the silent part, i picked a decently sound proof case but i didnt pick a cpu cooler yet because i have no idea about sound levels, hopefully some other anon can chime in about the case and cooler in order to get a more sound subdued rig.

Im gonna watch the sumo now that is starting will come back at the interval and you can tell me what you think and we can see if any other anon chimed in.

I decided to say fuck it and go for them for the first time since 2012 (when they sold me a DOA board), but only because they were the only ones offering a LED debugger MOBO in my region. Even paid premium for it so surely it was going to be good right? Wrong.
Even after multiple BIOS updates, it is a coin flip whether it will get stuck on boot if you press restart. If you plug a USB-HUB on the back ports, ALL OTHER mobo ports get disabled (found by community, Asus was just asking people to RMA their boards but all had same issues). And don't even get me started on the issues Armoury Crate causes.
Turns out, I wouldn't even need a LED debugger if the mobo wasn't such a piece of shit.
>>
>>106900227
>he fell for ASUS LMAO
I had one of their boards kill my GPUs back in the early SLI days when I had dual Asus 6600 GT TOPs. They warrantied my GPUs and sent back replacements that looked like a drunk monkey assembled them.

I have never bought an Asus product since.

Similarly I had Corsair RAM that every set gave errors when memory tested in my Core2Duo machine, and this was after they sent me 2-3 for RMA. I eventually got fed up and made them refund me completely. The Geil RAM I replaced it with had 0 issues so it clearly wasnt the timings or board.

The first half of sumo has been very disappointing.
So as i said it can be made a bit cheaper, i went with a bit expensive psu because since those have coolers too i hope its a better less noisy cooler, we could save a bit on other pieces if the price is problematic. Probably can save 100€ or so.
For the gpu i would just add a high end cooler some Noctua model probably and that is about as silent as you are gonna get
You might need to fiddle with fan speeds and such on the pc so that they stay low speed unless its needed.
I recommend you save the list i made and repost it later or in the next thread and ask for advice again, get some different anons of the ones that are online right now.

Everything out of basic slop gets expensive

I've learned that maybe I don't care that much about picture quality and calibration and all this shit, literally just give me an image that isn't warped to shit
It serves a function
Contrast is overrated, most things are sperged over too hard, calibration? Lol

Function beats performance is not basic functionality has been met
Maybe worse but more reliable is better

Becoming a boomer more headaches is the last thing you want

Maybe I'm the type that build a PC and then use it for a decade until It dies after all

We've also reached a good enough quality of most things that the value gap is not even that worth, taking about OLED vs lcd ofc

And also 4k is not even that large to be tiling all stuff without scaling either I feel like
It might just be bad idk
But I never tried a fuck huge low ppi screen
Idk multi screen for desktop use just seems more viable
>>
>>106901305
>Different vertical res, horizontal, mismatched res, size, ppi
Size is more annoying than resolution tbqh. But really, most of that is irrelevant for daily use and is all something you can get used to.

I used to run two normal monitors and a 3rd portrait, works well.

Personally, I prefer symmetrical setups more than anything due to muh tism

I am currently looking at going back to one monitor portrait, standard on the left and a 32" in the middle but I cant decide if I want to pay out the ass for OLED memes or not. Otherwise, going the mini-LED 27" 4k route

if a game is saying turn on frame gen to play at 4K60 into the trash it goes

I just got my PC out of storage where it's been for a few years and it's working...kind of.
Doesn't boot every time and trips its on-board surge on some boots.
The BIOS battery is probably dead which doesn't help.

Anyway, I'm feeling like this means I should upgrade but how much of this can I keep?
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/VPjJwV

I already bought a 5070Ti because I didn't realise how flaky the PC would be though in hindsight, it was always pretty flaky.
The Mobo is a beast but it's made for overclocking and has a million voltage and timing options that mostly just make it not boot. It's always just been super twitchy and sometimes craps out on boot without any hardware or BIOS being touched.

I'm in Ukraine, have access to Euro and US amazon etc but it's best to keep imports <€150.
It's for a mix of gaming and work, some Blender, some VR.
Dual booting Linux/Win10 (I guess).
I'd like to keep new components to <$1k (not counting the GPU that I already bought) but I haven't built a PC in 7 years so I don't know how the market is now.
>>
I want to try oled and some hdr, coming from a crappy 1440p lcd. should I go 4k 32" to watch movies at native resolution or stay at 1440p 27"? I have a 9070xt but I don't know if the hit on performance would be worth it. I am guessing the biggest change would be lcd > oled instead of 1440p to 4k, if the resolution isn't that noticeable I might just save a couple of bucks and get a 1440p.

Are the next generation of cards going to find a different way to deliver power? All this cable melting bullshit is quite a deterrence for me just biting the bullet and getting a 5090 as soon as one close to MSRP is available. >>
>>106903243
>Are the next generation of cards going to find a different way to deliver power?
I doubt it. Its been two generations of doubling down on it and its only becoming more common. Possibly with smarter power delivery and monitoring using the same connector

>All this cable melting bullshit is quite a deterrence for me just biting the bullet and getting a 5090
Idk its still such a small %. Make sure its a quality cable and seated well.
t. has a 5090 and hasnt burned down my house (yet)

Also I would bet a lot of the 5070 ti supers use the same cable its just not drawing 600W, but there have been some 9xxx series AyyMD cards with the 12v2x6 that have had cable issues and they also draw way less than 600w so who the fuck knows.

My video card just died after 30 months (well, funny green artifacts and mostly fails to initialize, either dead GPU or memory), and now I'm about to spend a stupid amount of money again.
nV is more expensive and has the melty connector, AMD still has shitty raytraycing. It's just for gaming, though.

Of the 6 client systems that I’ve built this year, only 3 of them were Nvidia. Nvidia (and not even intel) will be dethroned in the OEM market no matter how bad they ever become, but people who want custom PCs are going with Radeon now more so than they have in like 10 years and by a factor of at least 2-3x.
