>>

>Any glaring issues
Yeah you're using an x3d + low end gpu. Modern games you're going to be way way gpu bottlenecked, and emulation doesn't care about the cache as much.
So I mean it'll work but the processor is way overkill, you'd be better off buying a 7600x (or even 7800x3d) with a faster gpu.

What the other anon said is true, you could balance the cpu/gpu better
I added a phantom spirit instead, is the evolution of the cooler you picked for the same price, it only listed the rgb one but im confident that if you search amazon for the regular one you will find it, pcpp has trouble picking them
Switched your ram to a cheaper one to save 50, and the psu to an A- on the tier list to save another 50
You could switch to a cheaper mobo, i think that tomahawks are very good but they are also slightly overpriced imo since MSI knows they sell on name
Then put a 7800x3d and a 9070xt
Its 420CAD more expensive but its a much better overall composition for longer lifespan and tackling newer games, its also a very much 1440p capable setup. You can also add back the 9800x3d if you want

However if you truly just want to play @1080 and emulators i would just switch the cpu to the 7800x3d or a 9600x mainly for the savings, switch the ram and psu as i did to save a bit more and thats about it. Just keep in mind that the 9060xt 16gb is probably the lowest possible gpu most of us would even consider right now to play newer AAA slop and will eventually run out of steam if you start playing @1440p

Do you want a rikishi?
I have already talked about the only canadian rikishi to reach professional sumo so im not gonna repeat it.
How about Nishikifuji Ryūsei he has had a very rough career. In 2022 reaching the top division and finishing his first tournament at that rank with a fantastic 10-5 record that earned him a "fighting spirit" prize. But then having trouble to stay at the top division due to injuries. He has just rejoined the top division for the current basho after spending most of the previous years in the second division and is current on a very decent 6-3 score, inching close to getting an early winning record for this basho!

Nigga you need to cut back. Unless your use case is playing extremely computationally intense simulators on lower graphics settings I can't see why you'd want to pair the best gaming CPU available with POS AMD ewaste. Not building it until the ram prices come down. They will come down, right? ...R-RIGHT?
>>
>>107239384
The only point to getting a pre built is like early this year when next gen GPU releases were botched and you could get a better deal on a prebuilt from last gen than buying an old stock card. They're scams, you pay a premium for cheap wholesale dogshit crammed together to make as much money from poorly informed buyers on the headlining CPU-GPU combo as possible. A PC takes like 4 hours at most if you've never done it and you'll feel accomplished that you built your own little custom hot rod.

That being said, Microcenter's in store brand is decent value and quality, but again pre-builts are for retards and children.

nothing wrong with the tomahawk as i said its a super safe board that sells very well but its not your first pick when going by "budget" as mobos are an easy part to cut some corners

>>
>>107240694
There is no clear cut answer. You will have to research on your own and figure out what features you want from a motherboard and how much you are willing to spend. If your entire goal is the build to be "working" then no, it doesn't matter, with about a thousand asterisks
>>
>>107240694
if you're asking that then no it does not buy the cheapest board and go play games
>>
>>107240694
B850 has one PCIe Gen 5.0 x4 slot for Gen 5 NVMe drives, and some might include USB4.
If a higher-end B650 board is available at a cheaper price, I'd probably get that over a more basic B850 model.
>>
>>107240694
check the differences between them, b850 are often just a remake of their b650 counterparts which translates to very small upgrades, better heatsinks, better wifi (usually) maybe better usb ports, might have a gen 5 pcie for a slightly faster gpu or a gen 5 m2 slot if you buy such a disk.... its about what the specific b650 and b850 you are checking have and what you need
That said everything the same i often recommend the b850 models if the price is not outrageous (maybe +30$ over the same b650) i think that having a more modern seat might age better if in the future you want to slot a zen6 chip

For mobos over the main difference between price points in a reputable brand is firstly chipset (that's your B650/850/X870 etc, you can do your own research on those) and then feature based, not really performance based. For the most part, a 150 dollar B850 from MSI will perform exactly the same as a 400 dollar one in games and benchmarks. After chipset comes features like case compatibility, ports and slots (quality, modernity, and number), power phases, heat sinks, wifi card. If you plan on over locking to the tits or running a bunch of hungry expensive accessories a motherboard with better power delivery could help but you really don't have to worry about that if all you want to do is plug and play new games and emulators, GPU/CPU/RAM combo is way way more relevant for your average consumer than a mobo.

>>107240623
>very few people offering a better list
Very few people have the commitment to handhold a newbie through shopping. There are a million PC parts and even among brands they differ a lot in quality and functionality. Good on you if you want to put that much effort into it but calling newbs out about glaring flaws is a good start to making someone a savvy tech shopper. Notice how anons were asking what his use for the PC was, what features he needs from an up-range mobo, etc? That's a part of encouraging the learning process and narrowing down the important bits that doesn't involve doing hours of research for him based on a post that contains no other information besides hehe playing modern gaymes at 1080p. Soft ridicule is a time honored tradition of making forum goers aware enough to actually self start on research about the pros and cons of spending more on specific components.

btw this is using the Corsair WS3000. But they don't show plugging it in.

I'm really unclear how you adapt this for the usa. We have multiple outlet types, it's not really standardized for 220. They're used for kitchen stoves, for whole home electric furnaces, and for (most common use) clothes dryers. For clothes dryers, you can buy a connector (plug and connectors) to screw to your dryer. I'm not seeing how you accomplish this, but maybe they have a selection of cables, or maybe they supply one and expect you to source an adapter.

Can't see the 2nd one but keep an eye out for walmart's prebuilts. They've had most of the best deals I've seen in previous years.

Yes, it's mostly for people that really want a stable voltage curve that is gauranteed to never crash if you are doing shit where stability matters, but if you dont then you are better just making your own custom OC/undervolt with your own voltage curve as they stress test them and make sure the bin is good enough for the slightly OC they put on them.

Finally have secured my GPU, RAM, SSD, and CPU. Now I just need a motherboard, power supply, and case. Can anons help me find the best parts to finish up this build? The budget for the rest of the parts is $500 (preferably less).

Any thoughts on my current build list? The gpu might be subject to change, I also went out of my way to get ram that's built for AMD motherboards as opposed to intel. Thanks everyone

This. Also all the most amiable people I know from school play games so it's an investment to spend time with people I like because the normies I work with 40 hours a week since I moved away from home have never treated me like a friend.

So I fucked up buying my 2 7900XTX and I need a case that actually has airflow for them, presumably with 1 or 2 riser cables. Anyone have any thoughts so I don't fucking hate myself?

Slightly related, but I bought a 5070ti from Amazon a few weeks ago and it doesn't arrive until Thanksgiving. If they have a sale on the same card on BF can I request a price match without returning it? Anyone tried this?
>>
>>107242129
Don't some OC Radeon cards have higher hardware power limits?
>>
>>107242314
Unless you plan on gaming on linux i would look into the 5060 TI, they going for $399 and they are 10% faster in avg plus you'll get 3 more years of driver support in average, outside of that i think the 5070s are going for as cheap as $470 in the US, both at those prices are better than the 9060 XT which you put as is $30 above it msrp, people suggest the 9060 XT when its at least $80 cheaper than the 5060 TI
>>
What games can I play with a 1060 3 gig?
>>
>>107242344
forgot to mention but i was talking about the 5060 TI 16GB, the 8gb is a scam and the 8gb model is worse than the 9060 XT 16gb that you got

War Thunder
Probably Source 2 games
You can also play getting a job and getting a modern PC.
>>
>>107242346
Online games and emulators,as someone that owns that card you'll start struggling with anything past 2023 in terms of AAA as 4gb is the minimun, there still some odd game modern game like BF6 in which if you use FSR/XSS really agressively you can somehow get close to 60 fps but the game will not look good

Vidya has been my main hobby since I was six years old and I want to be able to play some of the newer ones
>>
>>107242344
My only concern is the power draw, I have a 650w PSU, and wattage calculators seem to put me at 700w recommended with those cards, I dunno if it's a big enough difference to buy a new PSU over
>>
>>107242342
Yes for instance the 9070xt comes in like 3 variants, 304watt, 320watt, 340watt, or something similar to that. they each will have a locked +10% headroom on the wattage, so a 340w card could potentially clock higher, but they seem to have pushed RDNA4 near its limits already and that extra headroom is not worth paying for IMO
>>
>>107242334
Years ago, they wouldn't do the price match. You'd have to send the item back w/ the price you didn't like in addition to buying the better priced item. Probably still the same now but I dont know for sure.
>>
>>107242326
Don't double down on your stupidity. Take the L and sell one
>>
>>107242382
The 5060 TI actually draw less power than the 9060 XT it should be completely fine because the GPU is rated at ~180W and recommended PSU is 600W for them. 5070 is a bit of a 50/50, Most people recommend a 750W psu, with an undervolt it should be stable though but if you have a shitty bronze PSU it may be unstable
>>
>>107242429
Also please anon make sure its the 5060 TI with 16GB, 8GB is a scam and they usually are on that price range so make sure you double check and get the $399 with rebate 16gb verison

I had so much fun with M&B Bannerlord 4 months ago with that exact same card.

My old 2080 super is dying and I have decided to do a new build and I have spent like 8 hours going back and forth between saving £200ish on a 9070 xt or just going for the 5070 ti I initially wanted. I have been AMD for years before this, only had the 2080 super the last year as a hand me down, I much preferred the lack of issues and DLSS/DLAA, but here I am again, like always, unable to justify the extra expense even knowing that it will make me happier, looking to go back to AMD once more fully aware of all the inevitable frustration.

I'm seeing a lot of conflicting information about the power draw, I appreciate the insight! If I were to swap PSUs, would it be worth it to go straight to the 5070s over the 5060ti? I'm not looking to spend a ton of money but I want something that will last.

VRR flicker in VA & OLED monitors will be noticeable; there are sample videos in RTINGS reviews.
Some people disable it and deal with the tearing, others set 60/120 FPS cap to rely less on VRR if their system can consistently render those upper limits.
>>
>>107242471
Are there any good deals for a 5070? Seems like you dont want to pay that much for a GPU, so if you have a good return window in your country you could get a 5070 and see if the performance is enough before pulling the triger on a more expensive gpu
>>
>>107242471
£200 difference is pretty huge
Do you have a return window? Maybe try out the 9070xt for a bit and only change it for a 5070ti if you're not satisfied with it
>>
>>107242507
It's not so much the price it's the value proposition, a £560 9070 XT is just obviously better than a £690 (or £725 in the case of the one I had my eye on), I just have such a peasant brain I struggle with the concept of paying more for extra "luxury" I suppose.
>>
>>107242527
>*£165
I said £200 because I got mixed up earlier with it being $200 when I was currency converting and comparing, sorry

>>107242496
For powerdraws always check the AIB's

this is the 5060 TI they even ask for 550 W for it
https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/graphics-cards/prime/prime-rtx5060ti-16g/techspec/

5070 They ask for 750 W

https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/graphics-cards/prime/prime-rtx5070-o12g/techspec/

Both will last a long time, 5070 is around 30% faster but the 5060 TI has 16gb of vram and they both will age well just not equally, with a 5060 TI 16gb in 5 years you'll be running games in low graphis but high textures as textures do not affeect performance while on a 5070 you'll be running higher settings but with lower texture/lighting to fit the less vram on it
>>
>>107242556
A 5070 Ti is not worth +$130-165 over a 9070 XT. As the other guy mentioned, consider a 5070 and whether its limitations will be alright with you long term. Anything this generation from either team besides the 5050 is better than a 2080S.
>>
>>107242556
It's a tough choice, and money is hard to advise on. Generally people recommend the 9070xt at a >15% price difference. Here in the US it's a little different as only the bottom of the barrel 9070s have hit significantly under the decent MSRP 5070tis recently. 200GBP is a lot of scratch for the performance gains and I think you'll be satisfied with the XT if you don't really care about raytracing/AI. 5070ti can be stretched out longer presumably with better support and future performance in games that leverage DLSS and AI for local processes but in 5 years time, depending on if the great depression 2 hits or not you'll probably be able to get a much better card than either, but you'll have to spend again.

Thanks a lot, I think I'll go with the 5060ti, I'll make sure not to get an 8gb by accident. This has been very informative, good luck with your part searching!
>>
Friendly reminder that neural texture compression is a thing. In a few years or sooner whenever games start making use of it, Green 50 series cards will likely have support out the box while Red 90 series might not. A 5070 has a good chance of having long legs. If the proposed 5070 Super manages to release sometime in the future you might be kicking yourself, but the base 5070 will probably still be sellable 2ndhand as the new compression will claw back the VRAM capacity well into the future and it will just be a bit weaker in terms of physical components and spending a bit of its tensor cores on the compression.
>>
>>107242627
Actually, could you link where you're seeing the card for 399?
>>
>>107242627
good luck anon, after you get it i suggest you to undervolt/overclock the card, Yo'll get anywhere from 9% to 13% extra performance without any increase in temperatures or increasing the power limit, its basically free performance as all blackwell cards are underclocked and will put the card at least on half a tier up in modern games https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zv_UJxqTPtc a moderate clock boost $3of 350 and 1500 to the memory will land you there and this should even work with the stock voltages so you dont have to do anything else
>>
>>107242635
Nuh uh anon, it'll be junk that no one ever uses like ray tracing and dlss (or cope fsr on amd gpus+console) :)
>>
>>107242635
in benchmarks that ive seen the 5070ti is using less of its 16gb of VRAM than the 9070xt. No idea why that is, but already if your thinking of stretching the VRAM out, green team wins on that
>>
>>107242650
>>107242650
it was on newegg, its $419 but it comes with a rebate card which lower its to $399 https://www.newegg.com/msi-rtx-5060-ti-16g-ventus-2x-oc-black-plus-geforce-rtx-5060-ti-16gb-graphics-card-double-fans/p/N82E16814137992

>5070
The 9070xt and 5070ti performance is what I'm after, I'm content with that price bracket, it's really just the difference between the two. I was on FSR with a 5700xt and before that an r9 290, both cards caused me many headaches with bizarre niche issues and stupid frustrations, but at the same time, neither card died unlike my current nvidia which I had to replace both fans and now the vram is having a stroke. Bah, guess I'll 9070xt it then I suppose.

anons now is the time to buy SSDs, they will soon be unobtanium until production ramps up.

Is it worth it to buy a B850 motherboard over B650 if im on a budget?
>>
>>107242671
tyty, is there any noteworthy difference between the manufacturers? I assume msi is okay? I heard gigabyte had quality control issues
>>
>>107242680
depends on which one you're buying, i heard the msi b650s were flimsy in comparison to the b850s, and if you're buying an AM5 socket mobo do not buy ASrock as it may make your processor catch on fire
>>
>>107242673
I was trying to decide between the 9070xt and the 5070ti myself. Was deadset on AMD till I found a 5070ti for $50 under MSRP. The 9070xt AIB cards I was interested in came out even more than the nvidia card, i couldnt justify it. every nvidia card ive had ive abused the shit out of and never had issues. 1080ti still going strong after all these years
>>
>>107242673
9070xt vs 5070ti is pretty much a replay of 5700xt vs 2070S
The latter aged much better because it supported more dx12 API features like mesh shedding and the same is also true for the 5070ti
>>
>>107242692
ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS is what i was looking for since it comes with a 9600X combo if i pay now ($300) and pick up later in a local store.
>>
>>107242687
MSI is ok, their cards are a little bit noisy but they have a good track record in terms of RMA, that one has also black friday protection so you'll be cover in case it drops further down,
>>
>>107242687
Also if you want a 3 fan model the cheapest ones are something like an asus prime, a brand new goes for '$429 in new egg https://www.newegg.com/asus-prime-rtx5060ti-16g-geforce-rtx-5060-ti-16gb-graphics-card-triple-fans/p/N82E16814126791

and there is an open on bestbuy for $412 https://www.bestbuy.com/product/asus-prime-nvidia-geforce-rtx-5060-ti-16gb-gddr7-pci-express-5-0-graphics-card-black/JJGHGYVFQZ/sku/6628262/openbox?condition=good

But at that price point you start considering if the 5070 may not be better as they selling them ast $479 + 20 rebate card
>>
>>107242703
You're right, this is exactly what it feels like and probably why I am struggling because I have been through this before. Fuck it maybe I should just go with first instinct on the 5070 ti and try to remind myself I'll forget how much all this costs in like two weeks.
>>107242700
Are you happy with it?
>>
>>107242740
The best buy one seems kind of sketchy, I'm afraid of the return policy or something going wrong weeks out in the future, I can't go up to a 5070 with my gpu probably. Wattage calculator sites say I'm fine but everything else says I need 750.
>>
>>107242624
MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK, it's on a good sale right now.
Montech CENTURY II 1050 W 80+ Gold, good price for a good psu but beware the plugs are very difficult to push in and pull back out. Don't know if a corsair or seasonic is easier to use.
That leaves you with enough money to pick any case you want. Antec flux pro, meshify 3 xl, lancool 217 are all good picks. The lancool comes with a bunch of fans, not sure about the other two.
