I used the wrong screw on my air cooler, noticed it literally just before I started tightening the screws, do I need to reapply the paste since I have to unseat it? I'm talking like 2 minutes after applying.
>>
>>107544366
shouldnt matter at all. if you are worried, you can just unscrew the cooler and scoop up all of the paste and centre it on the IHS again before retightening the screws

Can compressed air damage anything inside your system?
>>
>>107544380
actual air compressor or those little gay safety ones the Euros use?
>>

Thanks
>>
How overkill is the the HAVN BF360? I am sitting on a Lian Li lancool 216 but it's too "open" even with the optional dust filter and fighting dust is an uphill battle for me it seems
Was looking for a new case to, yeah, sidegrade for possibly better dust control and proper integrated anti sag gpu support would be a nice touch too.
>>
>>107544380
Air from a compressor or the one in cans?
>>
>>107544380
Just don't blow debris inside the GPU and you'll be fine
>>
>>107544388
>>107544396
Either the can with the red straw thing or those handheld electric ones
>>
>>107544417
No. Unless you're using cheap electronics. The cans and electric ones don't have enough pressure to blow away and chips or capacitors in a motherboard. Again, unless you bough some chink motherboard.
Just remember to jam the fans so they don't spin. If they spin too fast they generate electricity which damages whatever it's plugged into.

Im building a PC, I have an AIO cooler and not sure which mobo socket to plug it into, CPU FAN or one of the FAN PUMP sockets. Instructions are vague and google has mixed results. I have a silent loop 3 aio cooler with 2 fans on the radiator and 4 case fans. aorus elite x870 wifi 7 mobo
>>
>>107544471
The pump plugs into the pump header and the fans of the aio go on the cpu fan header.
>>
>>107544392
why not buy a h20 and do a full passive liquid cooling, no more dust
>>
>>107544471
Pump goes in the FAN_PUMP. Fans in the radiator goes in the FAN_CPU.
I personally wouldn't daisy chain my radiator fans with my other fans. Just because I can control my radiator fans by itself without affecting my other exhaust fans.
>>
>>107544484
There is only one plug the manual says to plug it into the AIO header, but as I said my mobo doesn't have that

oh the yurosissy ones are safe, just make sure you put on your EU mandated safety glasses before using.

Be extra careful when using an actual air compressor, you can break stuff with that, but I think they're banned in the EU.

just use an external liquid cooler, not a radiator, an actual liquid cooler that reduces temp without causing condensation
>>
>>107544518
>1 radiator fan into CPU FAN and the other radiator fan into CPU OPT
That's not what I meant. I meant don't chain your radiator fans to your other exhaust fans.
Keep your 2 or 3 radiator fans daisy chain but only them. This say I can mas out my radiator fans if I need to but keep my other exhaust fans at 50% or something.

This is in the recommendations due to the cooling performance in the GamersNexus review, right? Cause I bought it recently, and the case is nice, sure, but the fans it comes with (both the front and bottom ones) are absolute trash and cause an annoying-ass howling/whining sound at idle speeds. How did I do, fellow /pcbg/ kids? My first PC. I bought the parts end of October, RAM cost me 180 EUR. So far the computer is very good, very fast. I do not play games but tested it with some popular new games I bought from Steam and also Diablo 4 because I used to play Diablo 2 more than 20 years ago. They run very good at 100fps (vsync enabled on my 1080p 100hz monitor) at max settings

It comes down to your needs, wants and budget. Market swindling is expected to last for about 5 years, if you are planing to upgrade during that period you are guaranteed to pay more than if you did it today and depending on your needs it might be fine to take that route for a bigger performance boost, upgrading right before the new gen always feels retarded even when its not.

Did it fall into the socket? Use plenty of isopropyl alcohol spray until all the thermal paste is removed. If it's only on the outside, don't worry, it's not conductive and won't affect anything (although too much thermal paste does the opposite of what you want, which is to cool it).

FUUUCCCKKKKK. I'm out of M.2 slots and this year there is less than 10 2tb Sata drives for sale and half of them are incredibly overpriced (price of 4tb NVME drive) and other half are dramless QLC drives that cost the same as a TLC NVME drive with dram.

>>107546985
Those tests are done on an open test bench, not in a PC case, so they'll never be real-world temperatures. In that case, change the thermal paste and undervolt. Honestly, I think those are normal temperatures. You should only worry when the hotspot reaches 115°C and starts thermal throttling.
>>
>>107546927
Because of the thermal paste on the processor that covers the marking, only Baba Vanga can find out what kind of processor you have. it would be better if you posted the name of the motherboard and the name of CPU obtained through AIDA64.

Again its winter season. It's cold right now. 50-60c should be your GPU right now. Mines is 30C just at idle the fans aren't even on. If I play a light game the fans still wont turn on either. 80c during winter just for edge temp is very high.

Hey /pcbg/, I currently have 16GB ram (x2 8GB chips). They're TeamGroup T-Force Vulcan Z, DDR4, 3600MHz, CL18, 1.35 volts. I want to upgrade to 32GB before the prices for these get too shitty, and I don't mind sticking with DDR4.
There's a place selling the same pair, but I also found another shop selling the TeamGroup T-Force Delta RGB, with the exact same specs, but at a lower price. Can I "mix" these two models, since they have the specs are the same, or is there some more internal thing that isn't listed in the specs but might cause weird issues between them?
I don't have any fans above the RAM sticks, so the RGB ones being taller than the ones I have right now isn't an issue.

You are ending up like me. I have the m27p6 for games where I know burn in will be an issue, and an aw3225wf for movies and movie games. All the tandem oleds are bad. Either get any of the qd-oleds or wait for cds to see what’s on the horizon. We might be getting 5k 240hz true black 500 oleds early next year.

I just went to some shops and honestly the difference between miniled and oled TVs were really not that big. Fuck why isn't the screen issues already solved, it's 20 fucking 25!

Not really an issue unless you are using hdr and local dimming on the desktop for whatever reason or you’re sitting there watching local dimming algo check videos on YouTube or whatever. Blooming will always exist on mini leds until the number of dimming zones = the number of pixels.
>>
>>107547726
Not really. Only really matters for the endurance. Speed wise basically any gen 3 or newer drive will cap out at PCIE 2.0. I guess like the other anon said the power draw might matter a bit. But funnily enough the cheapest SSD's tend to draw less than some of the more expensive ones. Like when I upgraded my laptops storage to a 970 evo plus that thing got hot as hell so much so that it caused the plastic to crack, which is why I refuse to upgrade my laptop's ssd's in the future and just get a big enough drive when I buy one.

I'm still looking around and I actually found something a tiny bit more decent
I'm watching benchmarks, and looks like a lot of the graphics cards nowadays are decent, but most of them have 8gb of VRAM and that holds them back so unbelievably hard, if I manage to find a prebuilt with a gpu with 12 gb of VRAM or more, I'm probably getting it

It's not unusual for it to get that hot; your CPU fan is probably in a bad position. Although the undervolting you did seems to have improved the temperature, when summer comes, change the thermal paste for a higher-performance one and use quality thermal pads. Even so, as I mentioned, the worrying hotspot is anything above 105°C, which usually causes thermal throttling at that point.

because wafers. you can either use wafers for high margin shit or for low margin shit.
>Going all in on a single market segment
ha, you don't get it do you?
Current plan is 500+ giga datacenters a year until 2030, right now USA alone has at least 4100+ fully operational datacenters with another 8000 scattered through the rest of the globe, by the time the new batch is built all these old datacenters will go through at least one hardware cycle, potentially two, meaning they will have to fully restock their RAM and SSDs, don't forget that they destroy literally shred all the old shit and scrape the rare earths out. And in another 5 years they will need to restock again...
Do you understand now?
For a wafer manufacturers consumer market no longer exists. it is a 0.02% market that for some fucking reason takes 2 buildings that could be used for AI manufacturing instead. Best part? They PHYSICALLY CANNOT OVERPRODUCE FOR THEM Which is why consumer market was taken out, given a shovel and was told to dig.

See another thing here is contracts, these deals with AIfucks are not made per X sets of RAM, they are made per wafer. So depending on those contracts there is a good chance that wafer manufacturers got an even better deal by fully abandoning consumer markets and leveraging that fact into the contract risks during the negotiations.
It makes perfect sense to put a stop on a low margin depressed market if you have a massive stockpile of the goods this market wants, which is exactly the situation they have.
Leverage the risk during the negotiations so they get the boons or in this case paid upfront, but in reality nobody is going to set up wafer lines comparable to the ones top guys have in just 2 years, so they get to swindle the AIshits while twisting consumer's balls into a pretzel completely for free.
2 dunces clapped by one wafer.
On the other end of the spectrum there could have been a completely different scenario, AIoverlords could have rolled up and just said
>give us every wafer you make
>we are paying x4 per wafer and we will buy all you will make
>if you SOMEHOW won't agree we will go to chinks with the same offer
>don't worry we will be nice to your widows after the funerals
Micron wouldn't even need the other half immediately going "SIR YES SIR".
Cartel or not this scenario would drive them to shit, piss and then start signing everything very very fast.
Regardless of what happened behind the scenes we know the outcome. AI guys get every wafer, wafer manufactures get paid premium mula upfront, OEM gets pissed in the face, phones get pissed in the face, everyone who is not AI gets pissed in the face and consumer dog gets taken out behind the barn.

The overclocking settings it comes with are for amd.
If you want to overclock it on intel you'll have to do that manually.

Has it occurred to you that zoomers are on the same level as Eastern European pensioners and that spending money is maddening after COVID? Of course peoplw will wait if computers are not the center of their world.

Why would DDR5 not match DDR4?
>>
>>107550310
I do?
>>

It really is that simple. They're betting on you missing that payment and being forced to pay fees, if you make the payments then they lose.
>>
>>107549832
my 3080 disagree with that statement
>>
>>107550338
Zoomers aren't entitled to DDR5 PCs if they can't afford one.
There were 32GB DDR4 3600MT/s kits being sold at under $50.
Zoomers are not above flipping burgers.
