Depends on the motherboard.

My motherboard has a massive M.2 heatsink built in, so there is no point getting the heatsink version, if anything it'll probably be worse since the included heatsink on my motherboard is THICCC.

plus you can always buy a heatsink later (if its unobstructed) and the sticker is a small heatsink anyway

also, if you have to ask these questions, youre not going to be writing to it constantly to make it sustain 60c+ temps for an hour like professionals, you can always downgrade the NVME pci-e lane from gen4->gen3 and get less bandwidth which will restrict your read/write (minutely) and lower your temps (like undervolting/clocking)

Got one with a heatsink.
Just had to remove the screw from the module near CPU and replace it with another one on the mobo that had a m.2 slot via the chipset.
Also had to use a smaller screw from the mobo package.
Remember to research this as the nvme needs to be flat and not too tightly screwed else you risk it getting damaged.
The temperatures with its own heatsink are brilliant.

better not to get a heatsink and have it fit than get one and youre regulated to some m2 slot where it will fuck with your pci x16 lane 1 or other consequences

also, removing the heatsink voids the warranty for most -- so if you care about warranty, dont get a heatsink unless its going into a ps5 or something that is known to handle the space

Good PSU, but be aware the cables are somewhat shorter than average (12v-2x6 and mobo power cables 2-3 inches shorter than most similar spec PSUs) and there are only 2 8-pin PCIe cables (not that it matters for a 5080). Also only 6 SATA connectors, 4 on a dedicated cable and 2 on a shared cable.

I did a lot of research prior to buying a 9070xt and settling on that exact model. Powercolor is one of the top three brands for AMD gpus, and you generally can't go wrong buying their mid-tier cards. The hellhound is pretty much right in the middle of the pack of 9070xt variants when it comes to performance, power draw, and cooling. Dual 8pins connectors for peace of mind, and a dual bios function that you never have to touch because the fans are quiet in OC mode. There's no major complaints about coil whine, and mine is thankfully so mild I have to take off my side panel and strain to hear it over my case fans when playing games uncapped. Be aware, all 9070xt's have memory by either Samsung or Sk Hynix, and the samsung memory runs significantly cooler, but temps should be manageable regardless on this card.

Is there honestly much chance of 5080 stock at MSRP anymore? Local Microcenter was full of cards before Christmas, and just because I hesitated, I missed out on one when mine is dysfunctional. Not seeing any drop. Tried Falcodrin's Discord server as someone mentioned, but either it's quiet/dead as fuck, or the only real deals being posted are snacks and Navy/military offers.

I hate feeling pressured to get a 9070XT for $580(+t) when it's not what I wanted at all. Just know both AMD and Nvidia are gonna raise prices eventually. Meanwhile, scalper fucks living in bumfuck Mississipi are getting clearanced NIB PNY 5080s for like $700 ea. Frustrating. I feel stuck.
