Granted not for the HDD mounts per say but i put 6mm noise absorbing foam in my Fractal Torrent compact and it's practically quiet when running on idle (>25% fan speed for all case fans >20% on the NH-D15 fans). Try resocketing the graphics card. My cousin's PC had the same issue until I found out the GPU was sagging and the pci copper plates weren't properly seated.

My old PSU started to get a bit flakey under load with the GPU over clocked, especially when the 4070tis would hit some of those spikes at 400w for a split second.

I have upgraded the PSU to one with a zero RM mode, and I did remove the rear case fans.

Over all thermals seem to have improved on the vrm and the CPU by 4-5c despite not changing the cooler fan or redoing the heatsink. I find it hard to believe that nonrear fans flows better than dual 80mm fans at 2000rpm.

Even my ram modules under load seem to run a degree or two cooler. I'm confused.

for a GPU that is solely powered by the 75w budget of the PCIe slot, you can look at something like the Intel Arc A310 or the Sparkle ELF Arc A380. Are AIOs a meme or was I just unlucky?

I got Silent Loop 3, and considering just the volume it certainly is silent.
But the pump makes this weak, yes, silent, yet ever-present, and to me, annoying hum, which I could always hear in the background when browsing or watching videos etc. Yes, even when setting the pump to like 30% only.

Maybe I'm just sensitive to whatever frequency the hum was.
Anyway, swiched to a Noctua air cooler and nothing bothers me.

While I had a few salvage laptops that had lite-on SSD's, from the factory they were really crappy and slow, often not any better than their hard drive counter parts.

When I finally upgraded my personal laptop to a SSD when the MX100 released, it was pretty amazing. I was really worried about drive longevity, but it worked as a primary boot drive for years, and is still alive and kicking.

There have been some pretty good bundles I have missed out on, but I'm kinda capped at $1k anyway. Some of those good bundles I've seen were well above $1k. Personally Asus is the last brand I would buy a motherboard from because of how hard they push Armoury Crate. It is in its very BIOS and once you install Windows it's going to start popping up "Dear customer, sir, please do redeem Armoury Crate installation".
Since I use Linux such knocks on my door would stay unanswered and I won't see the pop ups, but the bloatware still remains there. I heard you can disable the pop ups in the BIOS, but even if it won't bother me I couldn't live with the knowledge that my hardware is bloated, the feel of impurity of my system won't let me use it normally.

Armory Crate and Driver Hub are two different things. My Asus x870e board only tries to install driver hub if not disabled in the BIOS. Idk if they only ship armory crate with some budget shit but given that they bloated it to like 3gb at this point it wouldn't surprise me if they don't ship it at all anymore.

Might be I don't know when they did the cut. Despite driver hub being barebone and much less offensive than armory crate it was in the news last year as well as Asus fucked up some security checks though the bug was never abused. I also remember it suggesting things that weren't for my exact hardware. I uninstalled it and turned it off in the bios and it hasn't bothered me ever since. I only got to remember that the BIOS is reset on update but since I uninstalled it already once it doesn't seem to ask anymore

Armoury crate was shipped with basically every b550 and x570 board including the 600 dollar pro art creator boards, essentially hiding the option to install it deeply in the efi UI. Unless you knew to look for it, it would keep reinstalling silently on every reboot on windows 10 installed in EFI mode. Newer motherboards have changed this behaviour because of the backlash for essentially shipping malware.

That said if you tick the option off in the bios it won't ever prompt you again, and it's one of the few settings that will survive a bios flash and won't nag you again just because you updated.
