Never buy a small case, never buy a mobo that does not have every interface imaginable, never buy a mobo with a single PCI-E slot, SFF is a meme, buy pizzabox sized E-ATX mobos, expandability, universality and redundancy above all else.

If you want a SFF pc buy a minipc with those occulink things or settle with an igpu, fuck just buy mac mini, its blows 70% of the builds here out of the water anyway and you get the perks of the apple ecosystem for a small premium.

The Wood Edition with metal side panel is a really nice case that I can recommend.
Looks timeless, noble, serious, has easily serviceable proper dust filters in front and bottom, fits a thick ALF3 420 in top with just a tiny mod, can install standard office chair casters in bottom holes prepared for this purpose instead of the rubber feet. The handles allow to actually lift that behemoth even when fully loaded with hardware but you prefer to just roll it around on the wheels once you installed them. I will never have a heavy PC again without wheels. How I hate to carry around my loaded beQuiet Silent Base cases!

Downsides of this case are the missing noise-absorbing measures that beQuiet cases come with. You have to retrofit neoprene on the side panels to dampen resonance and isolate hard drives with rubbers from the cages.
And I wish it was possible to install all 4 hard drives next to each other, not just 3 of them. The case is designed to support only one radiator in top, not in front or bottom. This is limiting options but also allows for perfection. The intake of air by the 2 x 200 x 38mm front fans is ENORMOUS even at lowest rpms and seems to perfectly complement a 420 rad in top.

Per default the case has two small wheels in the rear that facilitate dragging the case over the floor just by lifting it in the front. I however recommend installing 4 office chair casters, it's really worth it.

>>
>>108335200
I got the standard version with the glass, because I didn't like the front panel change to show off the wood. And you can debadge the whole thing which I don't think is possible with the wood version.
I also think you can make a slight adjustment to the panel latches and mount the solid rear on the front if you care about about no glass as well. Or just buy the solid panel from Asus.
A shame the new version is smaller and doesn't support dual 200s

A new version? You mean the other model, the PA401, I suppose.
Oh, well, I guess they just wanted to bring a small brother of this behemoth to market but got it too small. I was disappointed that it doesn't even fit a 280 rad, only two HDDs and GPUs limited to 315mm, not even 350mm, neither my 4090 nor my 5070Ti nor many other cards would fit. It's simply too short. Just a little more length, one inch more and it could fit most GPUs, a 360 rad and possibly more than just 2 HDDs. What the hell were they thinking at Asus' design bureau?

It only has 400 nits of brightness compared to the 1000 nits the other monitors have.

>>108335234
> debadge
I don't want to mess around with the case. I have ruined quite a few cases when I was younger because I thought I could improve their looks. It was never really worth it. Time also gets more precious than superficial looks the older you are. I no longer tune my cars or my PC cases I just use them. Modding the functionality is more than enough customizing for my demands nowadays.

That SSD is not what you need as a gamer that is unnecessarily expensive PRO gear and if you are a pro you can just deduct the expense from your taxable income. Even for heavy gaming a picrel Sandisk SSD is all you need and until recently was to be had for under €400.
>>
>>108335468
>What's the logic behind that?
I assume you mean the comment about nits. Basically if a monitor has a high nit rating 1000 and can reach say ~200 nits very easy, and thus will put less stress on the lights.

In contrast, a 400 nit monitor will have to work much harder to reach 200 nots than the 1000 nit monitor.

To reach 200 nits the 400 not monitor is working at 50% compacity, and the 1000 nit monitor is working at 20% compacity.

That said, both will last a while if you're about doing OLED care and pixel cleaning every few hours.

I thought you nyaggers told me 12GB VRAM is too low even for 1080p gaming and everyone should buy the 5070 Ti instead?
Being part of the mainstream with my OWN 5070, gives me hope that I'll be able to run games fine for a while.

Okay, start with picrel motherboard. There are alternatives with even more PCIe slots but this one should be enough.
Get 1x AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX, 96C/192T
Get 8x 256GB ECC R-DIMM of DDR-5
Get 4x RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q Workstation Edition GPU
Get 4x 8TB of SANDISK Optimus GX PRO 850X NVMe SSD
Get a beefy custom loop to cool the processor and possibly also all 4 GPUs and an external MO-RA IV 600 radiator from Watercoolâ„¢ and some 9x200mm fans for it

2k Euro/Dollars for a well balanced mid-tier machine. Would've been ~1.5k just a few months ago, but RAM and storage prices are insane.
Here's a random one I made up in like 5 minutes: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nFvRGk
The case is random and for illustrative purposes, I don't know if it's any good.
You can probably build a better one for the same price if you live in the US and can benefit from microcenter bundles.
Also you'll need a 1440p monitor, a mouse and a keyboard, for which you can add another 250-300 to the budget. More if you also need speakers or a headset, microphone, etc. etc. etc.

The real reason why its over for oled sisters is because OLED is still a flickering piece of *****. Not to mention annoying abl (automatic brightness limiter), per pixel uniformity issues, low max brightness (not that bad, but compared to ips, va, etc its bad) and last but not least burn in issues.
>>
>>108336687
having to hide my taskbar and use a black wallpaper with no icons like a KEKOLD is what's preventing me from jumping to OLED
I might just make a pit-stop in MiniLED land until OLEDs become viable for no brainer desktop usage

It's already outdated. At least recommend the sn8100

Slower than max-P but I guess it won't burn out it's connector in 20 years
>>
No reviewer seems to be able to measure individual pixel deviation. I guess the light output of just having one pixel on is too low. I still believe that this is an issue with OLEDs. It creates a faint kind of static film grain look. It messes up fine gradations a bit.

I feel like is never been more over for AMD, with the console market dying, Sony no longer porting games to PC and RDNA 4 being the biggest flop since RDNA 1 basically every single dev will abandon AMD like capcom did with resident evil requiem
>>
>>108337312
All AMD has to do is stop focusing on high end.
Release cheap, good GPUs.
9070XT buyers are obviously the most shafted from this gen.
But if you got a 9060/XT, you're honestly not doing so bad right now. They were cheap and you knew what you were getting. There was no delusions of it being able to compete in RT and 4K.

Make Midrange cards with low profit margins for a while, build up your market share, develop your technologies. You're only going to leave people with a bad taste in their mouth if the $700 9070XT they bought turns out to be a dud and gets EoL'd in two years.
>>
>>108336150
wood ram!
>>
>>108337338
Chip fabs and memory makers have pricing power so it is really difficult to make anything that isn't iphone or datacenter level of margins.
To make something mid you need to go backwards like nvidia is doing with rtx 3060 revive which uses the samsung 8nm.
>>
It's ridiculous that 25% of overall pc cost is from two ram sticks
>>
>>108337385
So just straight up ignoring modern technological advancements and printing a chip architecture that was designed well over half a decade ago. They aren't even willing to waste the time designing a more efficient card with more compatability with modern tech.

Why? It's like quadruple the amount of ram that was in a system decades ago.

Put 8gbs of ddr4 in your system if you don't like the price.
>>
>>108337338
winner takes all. that strategy doesn't work unless they are on a more advanced node that doesn't cost more (not possible today) to give their chips a performance, efficiency and price advantage like in the hd4870 days.
serving only the lowend and midrange market will destroy their brand image by setting them up as a bargain bin brand that only poorfags use

5070 ti is prob around 900€ minimum, most models are actually close to 1.1k € in my area

the jump from the cheapest 5070 to the cheapest 9070 XT here is 200 euro, which is a solid difference that could go towards a decent 1440p monitor or extra SSD storage

The Game Changer: VK_EXT_descriptor_heap This update finally brings the long-awaited descriptor heap extension to Linux. I’ve been testing this on an RTX 5090 + i9-14900KF rig, and the results are night and day.

Hogwarts Legacy: CPU utilization dropped from 40% down to 16-18%.

Cyberpunk 2077: Dropped from 50%+ down to 23-26%.The "Feel": The 1% lows are significantly flatter. Instead of the CPU acting as a "middleman" for every memory set, the 5090 is finally managing its own heaps (similar to how DX12 works natively on Windows). CPU working more efficient

bro read the room, consumer purchasing power is dead. $500 is nothing these days, thats like 5 doordash orders. governments are addicted to debt so assets will continue to appreciate, which, if you look at it from a different perspective, is more like a situation where currency deflates yet wages keep going down. the only way to afford buying stuff, is to have existing stuff you can trade for those new things

in a way i think things will resemble the magic the gathering economy, where the trading cards required to play modern/legacy are all hugely overvalued but it doesnt matter because the autists who play the game just trade their existing stockpiles of old cards with each other while tentatively pretending the goo goo gaga made up values of those cards are real. in this analogy, very few new players (zoomers) actually come in and provide real money for those cards (houses, assets), and there is no pressure for the autists (boomers) to sell, which means the prices stay high forever. unless of course something were to happen to force the autists (boomers) to sell

probably the former since it triggers you so much

Lol, tell that to my boomer parents who migrated to America and then back to eastern Europe. 600 PLN is the price of a bill they would rather not have me spending willy nilly.

The reality is people do not have money or they do not have the will to spend it.
>>
>>108339237
>The reality is people do not have money

This part is false.

Anybody who has a mortgage has six figures up to half a million in that contract they can just cash out if they wanted to.

Just because they don't doesn't mean they don't have it and you're a fool to pretend that it doesn't exist.

Maybe.

But if you've got a mortgage your life is basically risk-free, you'd have to put in effort to fuck it up.

>>
>>108339351
There are steps that occur before you get a mortgage.

You likely have a stable job, and before that supportive family that wanted you to succeed.

buying a PC has been one of the safest investments you could have made these past couple of years. not only do you get an asset that appreciates, its also useful. its basically what i call "boomer investing" where you buy something you will need anyway (house, land, sometimes car) then it magically becomes more valuable because of gay fake economy

>>108339310
risk free how

the current issue we are about to face (again) is that a bunch of people mortgaged houses at like 1M or whatever, and yet that dastardly invisible hand of the free market economy is starting to suggest that the houses are actually only worth 500k. so you may have been paying 300k (+ 200k interest) towards a house and you still owe 200k before you are actually starting to pay towards its real value. probably a shitty feeling desu and thats why cheeto in chief wants to pump those housing prices back up by any means necessary 50 YEAR MORTGATES BABYYY

It turns out that the average person has no use for a gpu thats more powerful or has more features than a 1070 manufactured a decade ago.

i feel sorry for your consumer protection laws that cucked you soo badly. Karma for buying Njudean bottom-tier gpus though.
>didn't buy even a mid-tier case, let alone full-size for a few bucks more
>can't even fit a normal sized gpu

you're not very good at making decisions in general huh. Like, for my first 2 pcs, when i knew nothing at all, and had a tech friend assemble them for me, i asked for a large case purely on instinct, it just made sense to me that the extra room might be handy and couldn't hurt.
