Has there been an uptick in AI demoralization posts? There haven't been many advances recently and there don't seem to be any new models being produced. One of my supervisors is pressuring me to use AI and in the vast majority of cases it's better if I just do the work myself. I tried to get Claude to refactor a 100-200 line Python script. It did a bunch of bullshit I didn't want and I didn't understand the code anymore, so I just rewrote it myself. Even little things like asking it for a sed command it overcomplicates things way too much for it to be any useful. Sometimes I'll use it to make small scripts that I'll use only once but never for anything critical. I guess the shilling campaign is getting desperate.
