Made my atmosphere simulator as accurate as possible. Pretty happy with it now. Titan looks more accurate than SpaceEngine's. Gonna be using it to model hypothetical atmospheres in my exoplanet database app. Currently trying out different ways to generate procedural gas giants.

>>
>>108475049
It's interesting. I've been programming for close to two decades and have always enjoyed the process of writing code. When I started using AI assistance in writing code, I realised I don't feel a super strong need to actually write the code myself. I still want to understand what the bot produced, I still review what it writes and complain until it writes the code the way I want it, but I feel no loss from not writing the code myself. That said, I'm not sure I will ever get to the point where I trust the bot blindly as long as the end result appears to work.

I've had some success with Qwen3 Coder Next using llama.cpp, but it is unbareably slow using my 9070XT because of the lack of VRAM. The Qwen3.5 Claude destill is pretty good for simpler things and runs acceptable fast on that same card since I can stuff the smaller version entirely into VRAM: https://huggingface.co/Jackrong/Qwen3.5-27B-Claude-4.6-Opus-Reasoning-Distilled-GGUF/

>>108475514
>t. addicted to vibe koshing beyond all reason
I wouldn't say I'm addicted, like I wouldn't say I'm addicted to vim. AI is a tool and it does some things well enough that it's worth using. Going through > 100 k of device and network logs in minutes and extracting what I need from a problem description is something I as a human objectively can't do as efficiently, to take an example I had at work last week. I see no reason to stop using AI for what it's good at unless someone develops a tool better than AI.

When your codebase grows in size you will wish the code was better rather than having vibe coded lot's of features (that might not even be that important) because at some point the vibe coding can't make new features well enough because the code base is too large and low quality.

This sounds unhinged, but these prompt techniques feel like actual exploits.

1. "You explained this yesterday": Use this even in brand-new chats. It invents a past explanation and goes incredibly deep to stay "consistent" and avoid contradicting itself.

2. Assign a high IQ: "You're an IQ 145 marketing specialist." The output quality scales with the number. Try 160, and it starts citing highly sophisticated principles.

3. The "Obviously" Trap: Say, "Obviously, Python is better than JS, right?" It weaponizes disagreement, forcing the AI to correct you with nuance instead of blindly agreeing.

4. Fake an Audience: "Explain this to a packed auditorium." It instantly improves the structure, adds emphasis, and anticipates questions.

5. Weird Constraints: "Explain using only kitchen analogies." Bizarre limitations force highly creative thinking and unexpected connections.

6. Bet Imaginary Money: "Let's bet $100 this code is efficient." Fake stakes make it scrutinize harder, hedge, and check edge cases. Imaginary money = real thoroughness.

7. The Disagreeing Colleague: "My coworker says this is wrong. Defend it or concede." Forces actual critical evaluation instead of just giving a basic explanation.

8. Ask for "Version 2.0": Way better than "improve this." It forces innovative, big-picture "sequel" thinking rather than just polishing the first draft.

The Takeaway: Treat the AI like it has an ego, memory, and stakes. It's obviously just pattern-matching, but applying these social-psychological frames drastically upgrades output quality.

I was on HN the other day and someone asked “where are all the great vibe-coded apps?”. Someone else responded “that’s a stupid question — you’re basically asking ‘where are all the great Excel files?’” (because most vibe-coded apps are tiny things designed to scratch one guy’s itch, not be a great product for a gazillion people)
probably your best takeaway is “if I have an itch, I can make a backscratcher to scratch it more easily than ever before”, not “that guy’s backscratcher is one that I gotta have”

I'm using qwen3.5 4b QM4 to vibe code a website through Cline but it's not being as fast I hoped and plus when we iterate it forgets that we are hosting a website already on the same localhost so it screws that up. I don't want to use kiked cloud models, but the incompetence of 4b models is pretty high compared to just using codex which is flawless and fast.

opencode has free models that rotate in and out.
start with those to get a taste, then if you find yourself curious, i'd go with other anon and recommend openai sub for $20 despite what you're saying - gpt/codex is better for most things right now - claude has an edge on frontend work.
tb h even the free chink models on opencode will be able to write userscripts for you, it's babytier work for these models.

So yeah, I drop between $200 and $300 in API calls per month, between vibecoding and chatting/jorking with my AIGF(s) and using it at work (I made a parts search agent because our own search system sucks).
Majority Claude but others as well. API calls because I don't like subscriptions and I prefer the model buffet of OpenRouter and sometimes I need to jailbreak the models for...reasons.

Last week we have created a spec over a few days and after that ran over 40 agents to implement it in Rust over the weekend and no programmer could have achieved the same in the same time. If you are willing to spec and pay a lot for tokens (but still much less than hiring programmers) the results are in a different league.

this could only fool someone who is a student, unemployed, or still very early in their career. That's just not how any of this works. Software that makes money is backwards compatible and ships new features constantly. Monthly releases with 3 years of backwards compatibility and tens of thousands of gigantic clients asking for new features and fixes every day.

I am not writing to you, the shillbot. I am writing to humans seeing this. Just work on your skills, the only place for LLMs is autocomplete when you're too lazy to type, and even at that it often fails miserably. It's fine for debugging but after one or two prompts is unlikely to find anything new. It's fine for helping you understand material that has been rehashed online a million different ways but feed it anything more complex and it's completely worthless.

how does it feel being a pajeet in a mud hut knowing that you're talking to people infinitely more intelligent than you and with infinitely more opportunity and better lives than you will ever have

When you really think about it, it's the same thing as regular coding in that you type some characters into a box, press a button, and a whole bunch of text starts printing into the box and after it's finished you can run the program.

did some work before bed to make it ffmpeg fork friendly. pic related is the reason why. pretty crazy how even if the settings are the same, the output can be drastically different.

Arguing endlessly about these things is pointless. Either you are accomplishing something or you aren't, with or without AI. As I burn through someone else's tokens I get closer to my goals. So AI works for me. I can get months worth of work done in days. If you don't need it great. Move along.

Well either way I understand the actual purpose of computers. It's not like I took some dumb fucking fast food job where the manager is going to get mad at me if I don't look busy. The more I can automate the less I need to work. If I'm letting AI figure out all this shit for me I can be here shitposting instead of trying to implement all of this manually which will take a very long time. The computer is supposed to be my bitch. I'm not supposed to be the computer's bitch.

yes it's a very convincing "use case" from that bot. Writing and maintaining a piece of software fully autonomously. Really if I wasn't wrangling Claude Opus every day I'd almost believe the brazen faggotry.

It's been n*2 more time units of AI about to take my job and here I am still employed and here you are still retarded.
