I found a reddit post that exported a Crimson Desert profile from March which i imported, but that's just a random post buried in a thread, not really feasible to scour something like that for every new game.

today was hot as fuck, I was gaming and suddenly my pc turned off, I'm guessing from overheat. I tried turning it back on but nothing. Flipped the psu switch and it did turn on. Could it be a psu issue? I put it to sleep for it to cool since I noticed the case and the psu was really hot. After letting it cool and resuming from sleep it kind of turned off, but after pressing the power button it resumed normally, I've been just using firefox normally since then.

It's disabled in group policy. Windows ignoring settings is a recurring problem. Official Windows support advised blocking Microsoft servers. Even so, updates should never be forced and and absolutely shouldn't brick the computer. That same computer had a bricked motherboard because windows update pushed a firmware update that also failed. Motherboard had to be RMAd. Updates were disabled afterwards. Not to mention that sleep fuctionality is still completely fucked on windows and that I had to personally set it to hibernate instead of sleep so it would stop draining it's battery and cooking itself in the bag. Hibernation also brings it's host of usability and stability issues.
I had her trial arch linux on a extra drive and despite linux's lack of battery optimizations (that are windows exclusive and proprietary)she gained 3 hours of battery life and the overall system load decreased by 20% or so. Sleep also worked properly. If she didn't have to use windows at work she would have switched a long time ago.

It's arbitrary. If you know your way around windows its less likely to happen to you. It's also hardware dependent because most windows update issues are actually driver or firmware updates failing. Normalfags postpone updates till the last possible second and some "critical" updates only let you postpone it for some time. That makes them more susceptible to those issues. Also normalfags suddenly lose the ability to read once they need to use the computer. My guess is she tried to reboot because explorer was bugged and wouldn't open apps and windows update had one in the chamber and she didn't read the warning. Again that wouldn't be a problem if the update actually worked.

My main goal is to get a bigger monitor as well get a new system to support 1440p. Ideally I would like a monitor of at least 32 inches but apparently 1440p is best at 27 inches? I would thinking of going with a high end cpu such as a 7/9800X3D paired with a used RTX 3080 or maybe 4070 ti. What do you think? I'm installing a windows preview update to test the xbox mode and also a new graphics driver. This could crash and burn or actually be good. Is it worth it? Probably not.

I definitely saw this coming as the gameplan for Helix. it will have some obtuse desktop mode, like how you can get to desktop on Steam Deck, where you'll be able to install Steam on the Helix, but you'll lose all of the performance benefits of whatever their new XBox mode is.
I wish I had an AMD GPU so I could switch to Arch.

looks like all the web crap that they added to windows 11 is just not running in the background. i'd have to poke around there myself to see if it is really that good or what the difference really is.

CPU/mobo/RAM/NVME SSD are all a combo from Microcenter. Video card is also from Microcenter and it gets me Resident Evil 9 for free (which I wanted anyways). Everything else will be bought from Amazon. The SATA SSD is being brought in from my old dying machine and the PSU is one of, if not the best PSU on the market. I got it for a sale I couldn't ignore. yes I know it's overkill.

just don't like logitech products since they are overpriced and made to fail. newer brands run circles around those fossiles like razer, logitech and <insert company that has existed for over 15 years> and them when it comes to reliability and no software is not a selling point since you can always find a company that has the option for no software or minimal non spyware offline software.

i just don't get why two 200hz monitors if you could spend a bit more any maybe get an ultra wide or a higher end main monitor with a cheaper 1440p or 4k screen even prob.

well my board didn't have pcie gen 5.0 before the 1.3a agesa update (i think) and it still defaults to 4.0 if i set it to auto
