I've decided to translate some works by date roku that dont have an english translation yet. I dont know any japanese and I'm using AI and intuition to make the sentences sound good, so it'll probably be terrible.

That being said I'm really pissed that I dont have an easy way to edit the file. I'm using firefox and the file is a pdf,but if there are better,more streamline ways of doing this, I'd really like to know them

Honestly I'm fine with my crude work but I'd just like to know, what tools do people use to do this? What I'm doing is so inefficient, I feel like I am working like 60% slower than what I could. It takes me like 15 minutes for a page, sometimes more.

I use adobe PS but it depends on the page honestly.

Some pages you just have to erase the text in the text bubble or paint white over it if you edited the entire page to raw black and white, and then put in the text you want there. This shouldn't take you more than 7 minutes per page if you pay attention to centering correctly, it would take you 3 minutes if you don't pay much attention to centering the text right in the center and just do it half assed

Now some other pages where the japanese text goes over the bubble of text and you have to erase the jap, then draw the original tiny bit of art you erased while erasing the huge japanese font, that can consume up to an hour per page easily in some cases with the SFX and all. It depends on the page and its pretty much slave labour to get it right, its why people hire editors to begin with.

I was offering you the entire thing translated and edited for 50 cents per page which, please other translators/editors chip in here, is the minimum going rate but I might be outdated on the price.

If you never touched an editing software 15 min per page seems just fine, the job is annoying as it is there is no workaround about it
