I was going with avif for a bit because I have a good image viewer that can open them just fine and they take up like 10 times less space than a png while having the same visual quality. Problem is that thumbnails load super fucking slowly in window explorer. Jpg is too shit, and png images being 1.5mb each really adds up quickly. I hear jxl is a good file type but webui/forge doesn't support it and I can't be fucked to convert images after genning and saving them. Webp instead perhaps?

brainlets mixed everything up again huh...edm is all about this github+paper https://github.com/crowsonkb/k-diffusion https://arxiv.org/abs/2206.00364. basically it's just a way to add and sample noise, it's a scheduler. it's not used by sdxl, it's used by cosxl.ddpm is what sdxl (and noob, including vpred) uses and it's basically an "older edm" https://arxiv.org/abs/2006.11239edm2 is NOT a way to add and sample noise. it's a paper that improves on the unet architecture in various ways https://github.com/NVlabs/edm2. one way to improve on it is to rescale the weight of each timestep dynamically, assuming that each timestep is equally important which is what minsnr and debiased estimation loss were previously attempting to do naively. due to some retarded math you also have to use decaying learning rate schedule with it.vpred, eps or x0 is all about what the model actually predicts at each timestep given the noisy image (velocity, noise and the "target image" respectively), and it's a common thing between ddpm and edm noise schedulers.ztsnr paper and nai's report refers to the fact that common ways to add the noise are flawed and there is a way to fix it if you use velocity as a prediction target https://arxiv.org/abs/2305.08891 https://arxiv.org/abs/2409.15997to train on noob vpred all you have to do is to enable vpred+ztsnr and disable noise offset.
