Tradart in the sense of the traditional sculptures and works of the great masters of the old and w/e.

I realize there's objective value in those which is why Araki among others have looked back at them so fondly, and had gotten inspired by them.
Meanwhile i'm 104IQ so i literally do not care about the sculpture of David or the Mona Lisa or whatever the fuck.
I just look at it and i get bored instantly. I don't have appreciation for quality, and i only like JoJos because they're the zoomer attentiongrabbing subway surfers of manga as far as concepts go.

I realize i should care and be in awe of those things but i just do not give a fuck

Trips of honesty.

Poking fun aside anon. You should find inspiration from what interests you.
However. Studying is studying. You might find a lot of old art boring. You might find a lot of traditional art not very inspirational. But you're not looking at them to be entertained or inspired if you're studying. You're trying to understand their method.
It's okay to be bored. If you're such a child you can't work. It has to be play. Then you're fucked.

I posted this drawing a couple threads ago and redrew their faces and part of their heads (thanks anon for the help) and I started coloring, but while doing that my pen nib started to become loose. I'm away from home, so I don't have my extra nibs with me, putting me on forced leave until a new tablet I ordered as an opportunistic upgrade arrives.

It's been 4 days now, and I've begun to look down on this drawing.
I think I should do better to visualize the objects in perspective. I believe Satori's shoulders are the only proper thing.

My list of insecurities for now:
"Shorten far side of monk's head. Juts out too much.
His left ear should be moved forward and enlargened.
Twist Satori's sleeve into the armpit. Not directly in the armpit, but in that direction.
Chin makes Satori's face look 2D.
Rotate pinky further right to align with hand array.
Too little depth. Leave space behind things.
Redraw eyes, but you're not actually drawing the eye, but the context around the eye. The line at the bottom is actually the indent of the cheekbone."

Looks pretty cool. Though you have to remember humans look at faces a lot so that needs to be tighten up. Get proportions right-doesn't need to look like the person, it has to at least look appealing to the eye. the way the sketch lines mix with your shading makes her lips look messy, and try to subtly put in the brow ridge for females.

>>
>>7341935
Here is the definitive answer. You should have started drawing at 5 years old.
>>
>>7341935
you start with gesture for putting ideas down in a composition so you can work on your art later with references
you start with observation drawing because you are a beg and knows nothing yet
>>
>>7341935
you start with gesture in the drawing itself, without the context of learning as a beginner
you start with observation when learning. learn observation before starting gesture. you can just overlook gesture for now
you start slow when learning, then speed up with time to get mileage
>>
>>7341935
Tell me one skill you start fast
>>
>>7341918
the first one is ok. idk how long ur taking for each one but feel free to start at 2 or 5 minutes and really try to capture the contours and movement of the body throughout the gesture. the more you do it the faster you'll probably get. The four lightly drawn ones are kinda stiff me thinks.
>>
>>7341935

It's been a while since i made a solid study on anything involving art due to personal reasons, so i was just sketching almost every day when i had time and was bored, and i must say i feel that i developed a lot just from that, even if i still seeking more time to study more specific subjects, like this one.

The "amount of shape" on the legs will have to be on scale proportion to the "amount of shape" on the ass in question. And that ASS is humongous, wich is fine. I know. I'm just trying to make a general basic point. So you can clearly see it even from the thumbnail. Tuning up that proportion is up to the artist.

>>
>>7342523
Well the answer you're not going to want to hear is to practice construction. Like I said it seems like you have a solid grasp of facial positioning, you just need to ingrain the muscle memory of knowing exactly where everything belongs to escape the picaso-ness of your current sketches.
And yes, unfortunately that does mean to practice some Loomis heads if you want to ever feel like there's depth to the drawings

I suspected as much. I would decide what you want as a helmet filigree or ornament and take another crack at it.
Obviously it's a small space to work in but I think making the head of the "hero" less muddled will add to the piece greatly.
>>
>>7342541
There are alternatives but unfortunately that's research you will need to do yourself, because I'm not familiar with them

I don't think you need to nerf your practice just because you're just getting into studies, like I said you already have a strong foundation, I would just jump into early tutorials and absorb the advise that applies to you, and skip over stuff that you might already know.

Like I said, you already seem to understand the relationship between facial features, now you just need to learn how to place and position them realistically, and rotate them in a 3d space. You have a good jumping in point that many other people don't.

>Its really scary.
That's the hardest part of drawing. Every single artist eventually has to confront shit that they know looks bad because they are learning. Once you get past that hurdle, you're golden.

in theory (lin alg) is an optical distortion to fit more information of the 3d world into a 2d plane, where most of the information is compressed or stretched in relation to the centre of the sphere (in reality a spheroid), depending on the viewer's angle.
>How do you apply this?
The simplest way I can think of to use this is whether the viewer is inside or outside the sphere. This will tell you whether you need to stretch or compress the subject. Another cool trick is to use a 3d editor and texture a sphere with the image you want to distort.

play around with this, zoom out.

Original artist here. Stiff posing had been one of my biggest weaknesses I've encountered in drawing. I was considering doing dynamic sketches and not posting anything for a minute just so I can finally drill in the skill set. But yeah I think it's a few things aside from that and no reference. The coloring is piss poor the composition is dogshit. It feels like I drew a flat sketch, lined it then filled the remaining space with random shit hoping to create some kind of scene. She's a hundred times bigger than the boy but there's no sense of size. Idk but my drawings all have a 'feel' to them and I don't like it even if some parts are well done

it's good, but maybe do practices on specific body parts only. neck, back, ankles, knees, fat rolls etc etc, focusing on the lighting on those parts.

How can you draw so much?
Don't you have to wagey?
>>
>>7343340
Well every artist I like seems to have had a solid base of technique and then also allowed for some little accidents to happen.
>>
>>7343434
much? it's not even much, about 1-2 hours per day. at least this sketch took me about 15 minutes, i wanted to experiment with 1-pixel brush.

btw i study at uni where i do nothing and also get enough welfare to don't work

Yes, you have the disease. It will haunt you till you die. Just know that you don't "have to" be an "artist". Follow a career, have a life, and do art for yourself and for your own personal enjoyment. Don't let it become a nightmare putting you life on an eternal hold, waiting for a dream or a breakthrough that will never come.

Oh it makes sense now. That's why your output is high but quality is low.
Spend some more time on it man, carefully construct and add some more linework instead of the scribbles.

Thanks.
I had already seen that vid, but everything else's new for me.
Also I realized that what I really wanted to ask is: how artists combine foreshortening + fish eye perspective, exactly? Even if I'm crap at both for now, feels like I won't progress anywhere until I understand what's combined and where and by what principles, exactly.

Attaching a fresh practice scribble for good manners.

That guy ALWAYS asks for peoples social media accounts for him to follow and now that he has begged you to make one really makes me wonder as to why he insists that people give their accounts for him to follow.

He will just say "I just really like their art so I want to see them progress" but I have the feeling that he goes around asking for peoples accounts so that he can have a list of people who he can ask to do free commissions for him.

NTA but yes
You could handwave it away as something about preferences, but, since you're asking, hide channel vid on faces (easy to search up just by this) points out what kind of a chin fits the bishounentachi best

I just love drawing most things, to be honest. I like drawing simple animals like fish since I am new. I started drawing some humans for my 6th day learning how to draw:

Picrel is my final drawing for today. I also started Peter Han Dynamic Sketching course, I don't know if it's good or not for a beginner but a friend recommended it to me.

it's good, I think most of the lines on the trousers don't need to be there though. if the trousers are pleated, perhaps mostly show it through shading, with a few key lines, and don't overlay the fold lines over the pleats, because the crossing lines makes it too busy and unnatural.
