Me when anons hit me with advice I can't use on my phone. It's nice to get help but I'm too poor for a drawing tablet and photoshop. I could barely afford this phone.

Anyway try bowing the lines that lead into the chin a little. Not too much or you'll end up with girl face. But is should help the curve of the chin appear more natural. Human are comprised of curved lines. Even boney nuggas
>>
>>7343574
oh no my brother in christ, last thread they said the chin was too pointy so i changed it. the ear is unfinished as fuck, i didnt even spend 1 minute on that yet so ignore that, I will of course fix it later.
I was wondering about the chin specifically, i should have specified
>>
>>7343580
the chin looks fine for a stylized anime guy.
kinda thin for realistic proportions. is that what you're going for?

anyways, it overall looks good! keep it up!
but i also recommended seeing how to use liquefy in csp because it's nice for making small adjustments

Thanks. Yeah its anime style so I guess it fits in that case.

No you're not. You're just observant. The angular proportions of male characters are largely dependent upon the individual. Both Griffith and guts are male but one has much softer features.
You'll find this true in even more modern anime like jujutsu kaisen or whatever it is. There are males with hard angular features and soft delicate ones.
It comes down to what you invision.
When I looked at him i saw wispy hair and sultry eyes. So I assumed soft features. If that's wrong then it's wrong. He's your character (or maybe not. I don't recognize him tho)

Bottom left is the best example of the angle you're trying to emulate.
See how it bows in then out again? Very subtle. Top second left shows this bow as well.
Also character definitely has feminine features. My dick doesn't lie

Damn straight, he's sexy as fuck
I did bow it a little bit but didn't want to overdo it, because his chin is always so pointy.
In the manga his face is more soft, but in the anime it's pretty angular, so it's tough to make a choice on it. I think I will keep it as is for now, might come back to it later.

>The nonautistic way is just learn regular art, all of it, and then apply the knowledge gained to porn
But that takes forever, doesn't it? I have been drawing a lot in highschool, little cartoon characters, but all clothed. And it looks like absolute garbage. Does doing through these 'learn art bla bla' books REALLY help? Or is that a scam? I tried like a "how to draw manga" book once and it did absolutely nothing in the grand sheme of things. It's not like I even want to be a master at art, I just want to draw a few cartoon porn and keep it to myself, but even for that my skill is too garbage
>>

>But that takes forever, doesn't it?
Yes. It takes as much if not more than a day job would and it takes years.

Check the resources in OP. General art books work. Anything that's like learn this 1 specific popular style might be a scam. Idk.

>But that takes forever, doesn't it
If you're really that desperate you can just read and study the basics of anatomy then call it a day as you put that into practice in porn. But I can't guarantee how satisfied you will be with that because it depends on how autistic you are about porn quality, at that point you will be the one that determines how long it will take based on what you want. I mean, you can always just post an artist or piece you like and we can somewhat judge how difficult it would be to draw in a similar style depending on its complexity.
Also what the other anon said, don't touch the 'learn how to draw in x style!' books.

There is no way to cheat your way into similar but to study anatomy (at least the basics of it, even the artist you posted isn't the most accurate) and to do some studies with references on your own (this is excluding every other thing that would come into play like perspective for example), I think that would be the fastest way to get there assuming that you're just gonna do the very basic shit that goes into 3/4ths perspective at the most difficult point. If you wanna do something more complicated from other angles and shit then you're gonna have to swallow that pill and grind on your fundies and study everything more in-depth.
>>7343724
I think it looks good, judging from the blurry pic that you posted.
>>
>>7343729
Thank you, but I have a question. Can I just start studying anatomy or do I need some kind of basics for that first too? Like I'm not sure if this is like math, where it builds up on eachother.

Yes, before you can fully jump into that you should learn about drawing shapes in different angles and how to do construction for example. Which means learn your fundies.
>What do you mean?
3/4ths is simply what you would call a perspective like the one in picrel. But since you don't seem to be so sure about what some terms mean my recommendation would be to first and foremost learn about what some of these terms mean in the first place, otherwise you're not gonna understand some of the stuff said in here or in the books.

Because eyes, nose, mouth, hair, etc. don't look like this in real life, it's all literal symbol drawing for the purpose of stylization. Of course I'm not saying it's bad, on the contrary I'm a huge fan myself, goes to show you that symbol drawing can look good if done deliberately.

you observe and make your own interpretation of what you see. as for copying someones work you try to see how they interpreted what they saw using your past experiences with the medium, for oils you need to at least know what wet on wet, wet on dry, dry on dry, impasto and glazing (all these you can somewhat mimic using brushes in digital but with the advantage of being digital, find those brushes) are and based on your knowledge on fundies.
you also need to know what you're seeing, if you don't know do your research, that's how you learn and get better, not by grinding something over and over again (grinding helps you get faster, by reinforcing your memory, if you're doing the drawing correctly every time) you get better by learning something new and properly applying that on your drawing or painting. so if you see a shape with a certain value ask yourself is that a shadow, light, reflected light, mid tones, examine the composition and how he grouped values, check the eye level, look how they exaggerate or simplify a muscle or proportion, how high or low is the eye level, etc. all these things you probably already know more or less what they are, but most likely can't tell what they are in what you're observing and because of that take your time to really look at it
one hour is incredibly short for someone just starting, try weeks because you need to solve each problem you face and since you have little experience each of these problems will take time for you to do your research and experiment with, what is a problem? anything in your painting that doesnt match your study, so expect a lot work done outside of the act of painting to figure them out
also try to figure how each stroke was done and in what order/layering and mimic them, perfectly, be a real schizo about it. do that for one painting and you'll fake into /int/ in no time, but the real reason to do that is now you have a system you can always use to paint and know it works

I just bought a tablet and am drawing for the first time in my life. I couldn't understand how to use layers, so I drew everything on one layer. I'm 18, do I have any chance of becoming an artist?

Hampton's general guidelines is that pelvis is 1 head tall, 2 wide and the ribcage 1 and 3/4 heads tall, 2 wide but he simplifes the latter to 2 by 2.

I was afraid of that. I should probably tone down the lashes but the guy is fond of his eye lashes.

Maybe make the curves in the face more angular? Like the cheek, chin and forehead curves. also the ear could be more pointy.
>>
>>7344193
>>7344196
assuming hes supposed to be a girly looking guy lashes and lips are fine, just give him more forward projection and a longer nose to chin area. if you measure in the loomis thirds men tend to have longer bottom third than women do. his forehead, cheekbones, and eyebrow ridge are very flat and smooth which is a feminine trait. you dont have to exaggerate either just make it slightly more prominent and it will help a lot. changing the hairline and making the philtrum slightly longer will help too. all suggestions of course, idk what he's supposed to look like
>>

CSP frequently lags, creating these straight lines while drawing.
I did pic related with a mouse, because it's slightly less noticeable on a tablet.
It's not a tablet or pen issue, they work perfectly in other programs.
I've only noticed this today. Restarting Windows doesn't change anything.
It doesn't only skip while drawing, I see it even just moving the cursor around.

This isn't a driver problem but everybody says that it is.
This is most likely some setting that has been activated in whatever brush that they are using.

If you go to Correction setting in the brush menu, you will see at the top of Correction panel a setting that says Sharp angles.

How do I know if a sketch is anatomically correct/balanced before proceeding? I guess this is yet another skill to acquire but what's is a good approach to attain it? Usually when it is until I finish the linework when the mistakes from the sketch become glaringly obvious. Should I keep doing this? Drawing semi finished fucked up poses until I start to predict if it is going to come up bad from the rough sketch phase? Waiting patiently for your advice.

You need Krenz for this
tl;dr brain automatically sees shapes in shadeless drawing, but in the shaded one you're not shading according to the implied forms, have a layer to grid out the forms in (angled) rectangles

Mucha is one of my inspirations and favorite artists. I should do some proper studies to help intuit when to leave lines thinner.

Get a hose, draw a line at the top and bottom, play with that and your eye level and see how the lines disappear as you move around. Cut a paper into a circle, rotate it in space, imagine a line for the highest diameter and another line for the smallest diameter that will show you the direction the circle is facing. In other words, get refs and make a connection between what you read and what you see then you draw what you see, for someone calling other tards you sure are struggling to wrap your head around

I didn't need to use a ref box for this, you use enough refs at the start of your journey to get your drawings right instead of building bad habits and guess what. Have you ever tried learning a musical instrument, you start slow and make sure to not build any mistakes. Same here, with the added bonus we can use and make your own refs to learn. If you still refuse using or making your own references for research and learning then I guess that is not my problem, good luck in your journey

Mirror the view, zoom out
And maybe get some 3D posing app to compare

This is where you know you need to check the proportion ratio charts (freely available anatomy for sculptors rocks for this), your aptitude with 3D shapes, and do grind 30-60 second sketches on figure drawings to get the ratios in your subconscious
