>>7443210yeah twas a quickie didn't expect it to get picked for OP gifbesides using just the lineart ver felt lazy so i slapped on colors in a hurrybut absolutely the grid floor tiles made it difficult to suspend disbelief over the distortionsi redid the table leg for a bit but eventually realized it was fucky all the way throughhere's the og for comparision
I'm working on a minimalist 2D animation tool, and this is one of the animations I created with it :p
>>7443278well is there a beta version out for us to use?if its stable enough i'll add it to the OP pasta
>>7443287Oh... I’d be happy to contribute something to this thread. The current version is pretty stable, and personally, I like it as it is. However, I know I need to add more features that people expect from programs like this.Once I have a more complete version, can I send it to you for your feedback?
>>7443301sure shoot me a drive link on twitter dms @Kott_Chadi've been craving a program with a pen tool without anti-aliasingthe brush in tvpaint leaves much to be desiredI'll give it a ride over the weekhere's oldie cobbled together using oekaki to draw the frames individually
>>7443318Great! as soon as I finish the tool, I’ll send it your way :P By the way, do you manage this thread? If so, staying in touch will be much easier.
(reposting from last thread)Working on another animation meme with another OC
playing with keyframes and I'm really happy with how this stupid little thing turned out! took some learning to get stuff to move the right way both together and independently without breaking
>>7443206New to the lore here, what is this thing? Your stuff is amazing btw
I'm actually so stoked that I'm learning anatomy and perspective well enough to be able to do this from imagination with less struggle than before. Animation is so good for making repetitive tasks at least have some reward to them.
>>7443326i'd be honored to help a devyou guys are wizards in my eyes manwith how to wield math into usable programsi am the warden of the animation general currently yesbut im mostly re-posting links other anon's compiled>>7443394she's my alien waifu mascother name is Kotto (Koπo)with a pi symbol in place of the double ''t''you can type the pi symbol by holding the left alt and pressing "227"now you know : DDDdon't try it in the 4chan text field tho cuz it just reloads the page with the pi symbol typed in the address bar for some reason>>7443344i respect you for using the grid pattern on the shirtits a bitch to keep consistentvery cool>>7443353what software did you use for the tweening? do u draw the assets externally on another software?what's your process?i have limited tweening experience using flash back in college but havent really given it much effortreally fascinated by the planning that goes into making these work without conflict/overlap>>7443432good anatomy practice anon very nicean exercise i'd reccomend is doing character turn arounds in funky perspective framingreally helps hammer those proportion into memory
>>7443544>what software did you use for the tweening?it was animated in clip studio, but drawn in SAI because haha can't use clip trial on two pcs. I uhhh don't really have an explanation for "tweening", or did really anything like that. Every moving piece was a different layer group being animated using clip's keyframes. Hat, head, eyes, hair, and all I did was "enable keyframes" on each group and tell them where to go and when. The manual editing I had to do was making the hat stretch to match the head using free deform, and making two hat layers a top and lower one so when the head fell downwards it still was above the rear of the hat but there was a layer above the head to make it look like it disappeared below a certain point.
>>7443278>>7443301These are incredible do you have any socials?
>>7443544Thank you! Could you give me an example of funky perspective framing? Are you talking like bringing the vanishing points in closer or bumping it up to 4 and 5 point? By the way, your animations are so fucking crispy. That arm and snap almost looks rotoscoped. Are you a pro?
>>7443301This is really cute and fun. I have often thought about making simple sexy-comedy animation scenes, but I've never done it.
>>7443915Thank you! The concept of a "decent" and innocent young lady (look at the elegance of her outfit! (?)) suddenly naked in public is nice, isn’t it? (see the scene with her cute butt hidden behind the tree):3 Usually, it’s only men you see in these kinds of silly situations, so the role reversal is lovely :3 I think erotic content can be more than just repetitive, grotesque close-ups of specific anatomical areas... playing with and subverting the platonic qualities inherent to young women - it’s something I really enjoy doing :3 > I have often thought about making simple sexy-comedy animationWell, get started! I can’t wait to see what you’re capable of :3 >>7443685:3 For now, 4chan is my blog, I guess (?) Honestly, I’m too inconsistent to create a solid online persona... I’ve made several accounts, and I always end up deleting them x_x
>>7443966you don't really need a persona at all, just a place to put all your stuff for people to see even if you don't interact with anything is always nice.
>>7443318not to grift the other one, but you could always try out aseprite. i do all my animations in there. the standard brush is anti aliased, i have never even tried setting something else up, dont know if thats even possible.

I don't know your purpose(s) for the game or whether you still have intentions of working on it in the future (not that you have to talk about any of that), but for what a /beg/s opinion is worth your animations are quite good. if you had intentions of making it (or a different game) for the public, I think it'd have a lot of potential for success.

>>7444394thank you very much. btw you can get aseprite for free too, its open source. you just have to build the version on github. im not sure how much in the trial version is included..im jealous of the way you are able to animate differently, one is way more exaggerated than the other, and yet you pull them both off. its clear to me that youve been animating for a while, hopefully one day i can make characters as cute as yours. for colours i mostly just wing it, always picking everything myself and staying away from layers or special brushes, as i think that gives images a too consistent feeling that i tend to dislike. my colour theory isnt that in depth, so i just do the following:choose only one colour to be the most saturated (in the light), try to stay away in hue shifts from it, and if you do it, dont come too closechoose a scene colour, if possible the opposite from the focus, as things get farther away from the viewer, everything should be affected by it. desaturate accordingly. i love using purple, it just gives scenes a very comfortable feeling.shadows are always the most saturated, i dont like dark values that have no saturation. every shadow also slowly wanders towards the scene colour to make it a bit more harmonious.break up monotonous larger spaces (only if they are not moving by hue shifts)segment layers of moving objects, be it limbs, hair or whatever by value and hue, so that it is easier to recognize whats in the frontim still learning a lot, and hopefully i can come close to those i appreciate one day. personally, i like the coloured pieces you have posted, they have a very cartoony look to them. everything is clearly separated and therefore very readable. the colours dont fight each other for attention too-an artist i can recommend for colours is syosa, i adore them a lot :> https://collet66.web.fc2.com/gallery/others.html#b1picrel is unfinished (dont have that many animations to post, sorry..)

>>7449040hehehelook at the tail/ feet closely and you'll see the jitters/imperfectionthe secret is guidelines, autism, being horny and selective framingsymmetrical character turn-arounds might appear to have 8 frames for each cardinal direction but really theres 3 frames that either make or break the whole thingnamely the front, quarter and profile the rest have the exact same silhouette with the contents swapped aroundhence my imperfections at the feet cuz thats a portion that distorts slightly with flipped perspective shifting the body slightly forward/backwardsmostly cuz the character is standing within a 3d space and not a flattened imageanother trick i pulled is avoiding exact cardinal direction framinginstead of an exact side profile or quarter framing i went with a slightly biased framingthat way the behind horn, knee, eye-lash, eye-brow, shoulder remains visible in the profile framethus adding more visual anchors for the in-betweeningthe normie viewer wont notice whether its a mechanically perfect turn around akin to a 3d viewport renderthats where imo 3d guys get complacent they take the 3d model's rigidity for granted thus they fail to micromanage the framing like a 2d animator cani'm not beholden to complete internal consistency with a 2d drawinghence i can slightly distort in my poses for greater readability>>7449388b-but the horns are integral to her silhouette : (one's even slightly shorter for asymmetryi could taper them to be pointier/longer or somethingbut they're a key feature along with the tail and fluffy eye lashes
>>7449427Oh my god, so you only have to draw 5 frames then you just reflect 3 of them? It's so simple! I'm in the mentality where every frame has to be hand drawn, but your animations look so clean and crispy
>>7449388to be specific i wanted to do the anime style without all the nu-anime creeping inhence why i made sure to keep the eye-brows and ears visible instead of hiding them being conveniently shaped bangs>>7449349cute design 10/10 would petis it a personal project?>>7449467don't sweat over the process anonwhat matters is that the motion comes out looking goodnot every frame has to be a paintingtry making a turn around yourselfpractice beats theory every times

>>7450951Japanese animation is just held in higher regard, most Western animation nowadays is just puppet slop perpuatually stuck at 3/4th views. For younger generations, that could be all they know. Some western animation of high quality like Primal, Arcane, Invincible, and Lastman are great in their own regards, but few and far in between. There's still nice stuff coming out, but the few good Western series, continuations and reboots can't compare to the deluge of seasonal anime put out each quarter. Even a lower tier Japanese animation with the abuse of still frames, varied frame counts, and possible CGI is leagues above most Western stuff in terms of vision, but when the West does try it usually blows the average Japanese stuff out of the water and most of the time it's either French or Eastern European.Japanese animation is targeted for all demographics while Western animation is generally seen as childern's stuff or edgy comedies for manchildern.

This is like a really really rudimentary question, but when using CSP for animation, how do you reuse lineart between frames so you can only change one thing? Right now the only way I know is to copy the frame then edit the frames to assign the copies to the timeline. Is it really just make multiple copies then assign all of those to the timeline? It feels like there should be some easier efficient way I'm not aware of.
>>7456451Nevermind I think I figured it out. It involves setting your base layer as a reference layer then all new cels will use the base layer allowing for edits. You just uncheck the reference layer when done. I'm posting in case any other newbies like me ever wondered how to keep frames consistent
here's a budget magical girl transformationwork's been eating into my doodle time>>7456444yeah that onemake it short and snappynormies don't care bout technical expertise they just want a giggle/smileadd funny sfx, reference a meme or two and ur golden>>7456451>>7456488glad you figured it out on your own anonwell done : DDD
>>7456488I'm still not sure I understand.
>>7456618i also did a blackened impact frame veralthough personally i prefer the og>>7456141forgor to reply to this onevery cool idea in actioni'll be imitating this excersiseso like make the subject follow an orbit at different rpmsso one does a single orbit the other does double that and so oncould make for a fun smear frame studyvery cool : DDD
>>7456630Only do black frame at beginning of the flash I think. That mimics an explosion. That looks like they're sucking the light out of the room
>>7456628>>7456488Nevermind I "figured it out" with chatgpt and chatgpt hallucinated a bullshit answer. It doesn't look like there's any layer linking/ layer reusing available for csp outside of the manual method
Every tutorial on CSP for animation makes me want to hurt a stray cat in Japan specifically because the Japanese love to do things backasswards.
>>7456718Have you considered that in fact their way is the correct one?
>>7197431Ntra but I figured out what I truly wanna do with animation. Motivation up 300%
>>7456802it's shit. dogshit software, I'm going back to toonboom.
i hate animating in CSP so much it's unreal
>>7456643Why don't you just put the static elements in one folder and the animated elements in another? This is analogous to how it would be traditionally done shooting cels.
>>7456955Japs can't code for shit. It's why CSP still can't use GPU acceleration.
>>7457082Exactly, that's why Japan needs to import Indians to code for them, they'll probably make really good animators too
>>7457164>they'll probably make really good animators tooAdmittedly yes.
>>7456954>dogshit software>I'm going back to toonboomlmao theyr'e both dogshit anon tho its not a competition
