i have limited tweening experience using flash back in college but havent really given it much effort

>what software did you use for the tweening?
it was animated in clip studio, but drawn in SAI because haha can't use clip trial on two pcs. I uhhh don't really have an explanation for "tweening", or did really anything like that. Every moving piece was a different layer group being animated using clip's keyframes. Hat, head, eyes, hair, and all I did was "enable keyframes" on each group and tell them where to go and when.

The manual editing I had to do was making the hat stretch to match the head using free deform, and making two hat layers a top and lower one so when the head fell downwards it still was above the rear of the hat but there was a layer above the head to make it look like it disappeared below a certain point.

>>
>>7443544
Thank you! Could you give me an example of funky perspective framing? Are you talking like bringing the vanishing points in closer or bumping it up to 4 and 5 point?

By the way, your animations are so fucking crispy. That arm and snap almost looks rotoscoped. Are you a pro?
>>
>>7443301
This is really cute and fun. I have often thought about making simple sexy-comedy animation scenes, but I've never done it.
>>
>>7443915
Thank you! The concept of a "decent" and innocent young lady (look at the elegance of her outfit! (?)) suddenly naked in public is nice, isn’t it? (see the scene with her cute butt hidden behind the tree):3 Usually, it’s only men you see in these kinds of silly situations, so the role reversal is lovely :3

I think erotic content can be more than just repetitive, grotesque close-ups of specific anatomical areas... playing with and subverting the platonic qualities inherent to young women - it’s something I really enjoy doing :3

> I have often thought about making simple sexy-comedy animation

Well, get started! I can’t wait to see what you’re capable of :3

>>7443685
:3 For now, 4chan is my blog, I guess (?) Honestly, I’m too inconsistent to create a solid online persona... I’ve made several accounts, and I always end up deleting them x_x

I see. I don't know your purpose(s) for the game or whether you still have intentions of working on it in the future (not that you have to talk about any of that), but for what a /beg/s opinion is worth your animations are quite good. if you had intentions of making it (or a different game) for the public, I think it'd have a lot of potential for success.

>>7444258
i love your color pallettes btw
do u have a procedure to picking colors or do you just wing it?
especially for pixel animations that dont have outlines the color pallette does a lotta heavy lifting
its good stuff anon im very impressed

>youre really good at conveying a certain personality of them with your animations
thanks anon
i'm glad it comes across in the motion : DDD
>>
>>7444394
thank you very much. btw you can get aseprite for free too, its open source. you just have to build the version on github. im not sure how much in the trial version is included..
im jealous of the way you are able to animate differently, one is way more exaggerated than the other, and yet you pull them both off. its clear to me that youve been animating for a while, hopefully one day i can make characters as cute as yours.
for colours i mostly just wing it, always picking everything myself and staying away from layers or special brushes, as i think that gives images a too consistent feeling that i tend to dislike. my colour theory isnt that in depth, so i just do the following:
choose only one colour to be the most saturated (in the light), try to stay away in hue shifts from it, and if you do it, dont come too close
choose a scene colour, if possible the opposite from the focus, as things get farther away from the viewer, everything should be affected by it. desaturate accordingly. i love using purple, it just gives scenes a very comfortable feeling.
shadows are always the most saturated, i dont like dark values that have no saturation. every shadow also slowly wanders towards the scene colour to make it a bit more harmonious.
break up monotonous larger spaces (only if they are not moving by hue shifts)
segment layers of moving objects, be it limbs, hair or whatever by value and hue, so that it is easier to recognize whats in the front
im still learning a lot, and hopefully i can come close to those i appreciate one day. personally, i like the coloured pieces you have posted, they have a very cartoony look to them. everything is clearly separated and therefore very readable. the colours dont fight each other for attention too-
an artist i can recommend for colours is syosa, i adore them a lot :> https://collet66.web.fc2.com/gallery/others.html#b1

I've finally come to realize that the guy is piloting the mecha

I'd recommend making pilot's bg color closer to the mecha's color scheme to denote he is inside the cockpit
I initially thought it was a super sentai thing
where there's footage of the actor w/o his costume is intercut with the footage of the stunt guy in the costume

another thing i'd reccomend is matching the pilot's framing with that of the mech in back to back shots
the cut from the mech looking right at the camera to the pilot looking off to the side
followed by the pilot looking at the camera cutting to the mech shooting the beam off to the side confused me initially

the monster spazzing out is 10/10 hilarious
was half expecting a few xray frames thrown in there for flavor

>im jealous of the way you are able to animate differently, one is way more exaggerated than the other, and yet you pull them both off. its clear to me that youve been animating for a while, hopefully one day i can make characters as cute as yours
i've had a really good mentor over the years
especially for my country i've had the privilege to work under some of the oldheads
from before mass-produced 3d animation courses cheapened and diluted the animation market here in india
my current mentor was trained under russian animator's by his then employers for production of a big budget animated film
albeit the film died out in production hell
he got good education out of it
with an intrepreter translating the russian professors in real-time to boot
so he's been a pillar in my growth

hehehe
look at the tail/ feet closely and you'll see the jitters/imperfection
the secret is guidelines, autism, being horny and selective framing

symmetrical character turn-arounds might appear to have 8 frames for each cardinal direction
but really theres 3 frames that either make or break the whole thing
namely the front, quarter and profile
the rest have the exact same silhouette with the contents swapped around

hence my imperfections at the feet
cuz thats a portion that distorts slightly with flipped perspective
shifting the body slightly forward/backwards
mostly cuz the character is standing within a 3d space and not a flattened image

another trick i pulled is avoiding exact cardinal direction framing
instead of an exact side profile or quarter framing i went with a slightly biased framing
that way the behind horn, knee, eye-lash, eye-brow, shoulder remains visible in the profile frame
thus adding more visual anchors for the in-betweening
the normie viewer wont notice whether its a mechanically perfect turn around akin to a 3d viewport render
thats where imo 3d guys get complacent they take the 3d model's rigidity for granted
thus they fail to micromanage the framing like a 2d animator can
i'm not beholden to complete internal consistency with a 2d drawing
hence i can slightly distort in my poses for greater readability

>>7449388
b-but the horns are integral to her silhouette : (
one's even slightly shorter for asymmetry
i could taper them to be pointier/longer or something
but they're a key feature along with the tail and fluffy eye lashes
>>
>>7449427
Oh my god, so you only have to draw 5 frames then you just reflect 3 of them? It's so simple! I'm in the mentality where every frame has to be hand drawn, but your animations look so clean and crispy

to be specific i wanted to do the anime style without all the nu-anime creeping in
hence why i made sure to keep the eye-brows and ears visible instead of hiding them being conveniently shaped bangs

cute design 10/10 would pet
is it a personal project?

>>7449467
don't sweat over the process anon
what matters is that the motion comes out looking good
not every frame has to be a painting
try making a turn around yourself
practice beats theory every times

sounds very vague, it's not like anime has only one art style in any period. either way, female characters always tend to have the greatest variety.

i think i came off like i hate anime in general
i have a preference to more grounded styles like Cowboy Bebop/Monogatari
yknow stuff where the head is somewhat better defined and grounded
compared to art styles like K-on and SAO
which dont completely commit to the moe blob aesthetic like Lucky Star
they kinda hovers in the uncanny valley imo
where its not fully stylized but not fully grounded either
thats the stuff i wanna avoid
cuz usually people who heavily consume that type of anime have a severly dysmorphed perception of the human face

i wanna do a magical girl transformation too now
btw how do you go about labelling the keys?
idk what the correct methodology is (do u go alphabettically? numbered? do different letters denote different shots?)
the ladders denoting spacing i get they're intuitive
but i often see stuff like a6 circled in the corner of the frames, whats that all about?

>i think i came off like i hate anime in general
yeah it comes off like that because of the words you used. also K-on and especially other kyoani shows like hibike is still quite close to the grounded side of the spectrum, if you study it you'll see.
>i have a preference to more grounded styles like Cowboy Bebop/Monogatari
from your girl's design i thought that she would work well in pic related type of more realistic/less deformed (in the japanese sense of the word) design too.

i'm looking forward to seeing more of her anon.
>>
>>7450666
>but i often see stuff like a6 circled in the corner of the frames, whats that all about?
A1 circled means A layer cell 1'st keyframe (B would be a second layer for example)
A6 triangle means a reference drawing for the in-betweeners

Japanese animation is just held in higher regard, most Western animation nowadays is just puppet slop perpuatually stuck at 3/4th views. For younger generations, that could be all they know. Some western animation of high quality like Primal, Arcane, Invincible, and Lastman are great in their own regards, but few and far in between. There's still nice stuff coming out, but the few good Western series, continuations and reboots can't compare to the deluge of seasonal anime put out each quarter. Even a lower tier Japanese animation with the abuse of still frames, varied frame counts, and possible CGI is leagues above most Western stuff in terms of vision, but when the West does try it usually blows the average Japanese stuff out of the water and most of the time it's either French or Eastern European.

Japanese animation is targeted for all demographics while Western animation is generally seen as childern's stuff or edgy comedies for manchildern.

This is like a really really rudimentary question, but when using CSP for animation, how do you reuse lineart between frames so you can only change one thing? Right now the only way I know is to copy the frame then edit the frames to assign the copies to the timeline. Is it really just make multiple copies then assign all of those to the timeline? It feels like there should be some easier efficient way I'm not aware of.
>>
>>7456451
Nevermind I think I figured it out. It involves setting your base layer as a reference layer then all new cels will use the base layer allowing for edits. You just uncheck the reference layer when done. I'm posting in case any other newbies like me ever wondered how to keep frames consistent
