Just find body types that are similar to the proportions you're looking for (lean models) and do very quick croquis drawings where you focus more on the dynamicity of the poses. Your stuff is already very good, you just need to make your posing a tad more exaggerated and your anatomy a bit more life-like and organic, so that you don't end up with stiff dolls.Your art has appeal (nice faces and convincing lines), you just need more mileage imo. You're definitely on the right track.

>>7768839It's your observation skill. Your references are a step too high for you to climb it seems. I'm assuming they are photographs in color you find on the internet. It's just too much uncharted territory your brain has to do. The color is causing you friction to correctly assess the values, you having to recognize the shapes is causing you friction, you having to translate the shapes and abstrahize them into lines is causing you friction.I suggest you do master studies and use pencil portraits from skilled (no hyper realistic) artists as reference, they already did all of the heavy lifting of abstracting and simplifying and you get to learn at a level you can handle. Try to go for achievable references first and climb upwards from there.

Why does all turns out like this?
I recently got into a small local art contest. Among 100+ people who voted there wasn't a single person who liked my art. The second to last place got like 8 votes btw. It's kind of an achievement in on itself, huh. I didn't even draw anything repulsive or out-right ugly or any coomer shit or anything like that. There were prebeg works who placed higher. The kind of prebeg if you saw on /ic/ you'd think a person drew it horribly on purpose just to troll. I sincerely drew something I cared for and put a lot of work and not a single human being was touched by it. I think I just lack soul, I am fundamentally less human than others, that's why nothing I draw ever connects with anyone. I am soulles. No studies will ever fix that.

Is there any way to force motivation or enthusiasm? I'm clinically depressed (actually diagnosed), tried multiple meds and they unfortunately don't do shit. need advice with the the gold hand, basically, the original illustration of the character has a robotic hand, but it wasn't that detailed so I had to just make something up. I think I fucked up the shinyness of it, maybe it doesn't look robotic enough, as I said, I've never drawn a hand like this before
