I finally decided to watch The Simpsons for the first time. It's been on my backlog forever but now that I quit my job and have free time I'm actually getting to do stuff on the backlog. Starting with S1E1, it's really been a pleasure. The early episodes have such a unique charm and the humor and writting is witty and original. The art style and general atmosphere is also so charming. I definitely see why it's considered one of the greatest. Shame it ended up as a zombie husk, but nothing great can last forever. My plan is to simply keep going until I hit a point where it is clearly and objectively no longer quality and then stop. Iirc most people say that it went stale somewhere between s8 and s12.
