my understanding from how nekonyan describes it is that games can either be accepted, rejected, or banned outright upon submission.
if it gets rejected, it's just bounced back and the dev gets a chance to resubmit with revisions. sometimes it gets completely banned and no chance of edits are possible. so what you're proposing is actually still something that can happen as long as the reviewer doesn't have a stick up their ass. completely up to the reviewer's discretion but the biggest rule is once it's banned it's banned for good.

That's Clockup in a nutshell. They are basically a Nukige company that ends up having good plotge and a narrative on top. I consider Maggot Baits, Euphoria to be their top tier titles just because of the fact not many are willing to explore some really disturbing stuff and make a story around it through a dark psychological lense unless it's Nitro+ which they hardly do as many VN's like it. But I do understand it from your perspective because it felt more like Hentai than actual plot compared to something like Euphoria. In fact Maggot Baits reminds me of the Taimanin series a lot. I do think Restless Sheep and Lone Wolf will be up your alley though as will it be mine. I am going to hope though Sacrifice Villains is close to Maggot Baits still as i like that sort of thing. I do hope they make more muscular ladies and brown ladies still.

I can understand why they might have had to do it, because with Capestuff even with Villains there is only so much you can write a scenario around before it wears out it's welcome as a whole. But it is an interesting thing for them to explore and I will still buy it and get it. But you are right it's probably best to not have huge expectations really. What do you think of Dead Days? Regardless Higurashi I wouldn't call these scenes as chuuni because most of them are delusions where the "cursed" was always in some type of frenzy and the victim (also "cursed") was seeing imaginary things. In other words, everyone in that town behaved like they had a high overdose of weeds.

Anyone have any idea where pre-v1.0.8 version of Happy Saint Sheol might be found? I'm trying to enjoy it since I didn't really think the ero stuff being cut by the dev would make that much of a difference, but wow is the rework shoddy. There's literally no continuity between the main game and the replacement scenes.

However, I am a Python nerd and know enough Japanese to get through anything with a dictionary. If I could get my hands on the original stuff, I would personally translate and patch it. It would be so easy.
